33 Double the Trouble

{Ordos' POV}

Now when you are fighting a doppelganger in a video game, you'd expect them to be or at least have the same skills as the original, right?

Well, I wish this was a video game, then I'd be able to read every move that the enemy makes.

As soon as I took a step forward, Seiya's doppelganger immediately performed an uppercut on me out of nowhere, launching me into the air.

It took me a while to register the pain and what happened.

I got back on my feet and glanced at Seiya who was now curled up on the ground covered by his wings. A few seconds later, his doppelganger intercept my gaze and dashed towards me.

I began to sweat as his doppelganger approached me. Now don't start calling me a pussy because I'm running away. You'd be terrified if you saw a 9-foot monster running towards you, don't you lie.

I could hear its footsteps getting louder and heavier as I ran. I immediately transformed into sand and the doppelganger beast ran past me. Luckily when I'm in material form, I'm invincible against most attacks.

I said most.

As I traveled around, the temperature felt like it just spiked; it was… hot, really hot. When I turned around, the beast doppelganger was throwing purple fireballs at me. Upon seeing this, I immediately got out of material form.

I am only invincible to physical attacks like punches and sword blades and some magic elements except burning temperatures and water. If I were to drop into a volcano in material form, I'd melt into glass and probably melt into nothing after that. Water, well, you know.

As I stumbled back and pat the fire that was on my arms out, I received a strong kick to the back and flew forward, following a tackle by the doppelganger which tackled me into the ground.

"Ough!"

I heard a few cracks coming from my chest area. Judging from the sound and the pain, I must've broken a rib or two.

I struggled to get up but eventually got back on my feet. I turned around and the beast doppelganger was standing right next to Seiya. Hmm, now that I see it, that thing is like twice his original size. Guess it is 9 feet tall.

Hehe, I just remembered, Seiya is the shortest guy in the school. He's like the same height as the girls, and you could barely spot him in a crowd.

"Heh, can't believe you're so short, Seiya. Even your doppelganger is taller than you," I couldn't help but tease Seiya cause of his height.

Though I thought it was funny, Seiya didn't take it well.

His smile turned upside down and his glare was malicious.

I think I provoked him, that's not a good sign. However, at least I know he is still in there.

I lifted my head and looked up at the sky; the sun was already setting beyond the horizon and it was slowly getting dark. Damn, it's been that long? But it only felt like a few minutes. Well, time flies by when you're having fun.

Wait… when did I have fun?

Oh never mind. Since it's already getting dark, I should just get Seiya out of the state he is in. After that, we just need to survive for another day and we pass.

"C'mon Seiya, let's finish this," I said as I got into a stance again.

The doppelganger got into a fighting pose, Seiya was looking at his hands and then back at me.

"Right… let's," he said as his hands and feet turned into dragon claws. His eyes dimmed a hint of pink and a black aura oozed from behind.

This is not good. Not only am I fighting Seiya, but I'm also fighting his doppelganger. Though the difference between them is their height, they would both probably have the same mindsets. After all, he would have to control his doppelganger telepathically since it is linked to him by magic.

I took a step and then boosted myself forward, launching myself with a high-speed protruding stone that I shot from underneath me. I charged forward towards Seiya.

One thing about doppelgangers is that if I defeat the one casting it, then I also defeat the doppelganger itself. Though I could go for the doppelganger first, it will just keep on regenerating and regenerating as long as Seiya has the mana.

As I flew towards Seiya, he suddenly faced his hands at me and fired Scarlet Bullets.

I quickly swung Seiya's daggers, deflecting the red bullets that flew towards me. Though I was quick, I didn't deflect all of them. I was hit by one or two of them somewhere on my legs.

Busy with the bullets, I heard a growling sound from behind and I immediately knew at that point I was screwed.

Grip!

"Huh? Ahh!"

Crash!

The doppelganger had managed to appear behind me. It grabbed onto one of my legs and then slammed me into the ground. At that same time, a cold feeling rushed up my body and I felt like I couldn't move.

Dmmmm~

The doppelganger's fist had lightened up. It is- it's using Tyrannical Fist?!

Flash!

Light reflected onto my eyes. I couldn't see clearly, but there was a figure above me with a blade in his hands. Then I realized it was Seiya with his Katana, and he was about to deliver a heavy falling attack.

A destructive fist attack and a lethal blade attack at the same time? Though Seiya and the doppelganger have different minds and are attacking randomly, they know exactly how to deliver a devastating blow and when to strike at the same time. I need to act fast and escape, but my body won't move.

I watched as Seiya descended from the sky and his doppelganger's fist inching near the ground. Why the hell is he taking this so far? Is it to make sure I can't escape? Well whatever it is, he's doing it correctly alright.

How the hell am I supposed to escape from this? Is friendly fire even allowed? We are teammates, right?

Do I have to trigger some kind of event that'll make him stop? Oh god, I don't wanna do that, that is just outright dumb.

But I don't think I have a choice, I'm going to have to do it.

"She didn't reject you, you know?"

SMAAAAAAASH!!!

SLAAAAAAASH!!!

The ground rumbled, the air felt like it just created a vacuum, and I felt intense heat and a bit of shock right as soon as I heard those two sounds ensue.

I may or may not have cowered after I said that. No, I didn't… piss myself.

As I slowly opened my eyes, all I could see was ashes. Then looming over me was Seiya's doppelganger, which looked like it was frozen still.

I slowly rose up from the ground and I noticed there was a ginormous crack in the ground. I gulped, if that had hit me, I would've been a goner by now.

But what about Seiya?

I turned around and Seiya was also frozen. He was in a pose where his blade had already made contact with the ground.

D-did that really work? I'm not sure if it did but I'm still in one piece so I guess it did.

"You…"

Seiya muttered something, but I didn't hear him correctly. What did he say? You? You… what?

"You think you can make a fool out of me?"

His tone sounded bloodcurdling and deep. I felt my body freeze, not even a chill went up my spine, my body just instantly froze.

Seiya stood up and sheathed his Katana. His doppelganger also got up but instead of returning to Seiya's side, it was suddenly hacked by Seiya and disappeared, its mana particles drifting in the ashes.

"I'll destroy you myself," Seiya condemned as he faced me. I backed up and picked my spear off the ground.

Well, it kinda worked. I just didn't expect him to get even more hostile. Does he think I'm lying? I do play tricks with him once in a while but I'm being serious right now.

God damn it, I've run out of plans. That was all I could think of.

Seiya drew his Katana and got into a samurai pose. I got into a stance and brace myself.

Both of our hands and legs had transformed. This is where we go one on one. No more doppelgangers, just us two.

Seiya's wings slowly expanded behind him and I did the same. If only I had large wings…

Seiya made the first move and propelled himself towards me, the floor behind him exploded from the force of his wings. I also dashed forward but of course, I couldn't imitate what he just did.

As we clashed, we exchanged blows and strikes. Seiya was more on offense as he had the advantage in speed and I was more on defense. But of course, I was also pushing him back. After all, defense is the best offense.

As we fought, Seiya was getting faster and his strikes were getting heavier that my spear was starting to heat up. It took me a minute to realize that he was striking directly at one spot. With that speed and strength he is at, he'll eventually cut my spear in half!

I quickly pulled back and threw boulders at him. He swiftly slashed through all of them and bolted towards me. He delivered an overhead slash and I used my spear to block him. Of course, I blocked it, but that came with a cost.

SHATTER!

My spear split into two as it tried to defend against his strike. Stunned by the fact that he just destroyed my spear, he delivered a spin kick and I flew back.

"Ack!"

As I rolled on the ground, I could hear him slowly approaching me. Man, if only I could stand right now, I'd get to say the line.

"Is that all?" Seiya chuckled as he stood in front of me, "Any last words before I send you away?"

I lifted myself up and looked at Seiya. Then I smiled.

"All this because of a girl who you thought rejected you. What's wrong? Your parents never loved you?"

I finally had the balls to say it. I'm gonna be hated by him for my entire life, but it was worth it.

Seiya pointed his Katana at me and slowly rose it over his head. His eyes flickered with quiet rage and suppressed anger.

Well, at least I survived for 3 days. Though if I were one of the 50 students that were decimated by Seiya, I'd be pretty pissed off. All I know from this fight is that I still can't compare to Seiya.

Seiya then released his bloodlust and brought down his Katana.

Clang!

Yes, I can finally go now… Wait, why haven't I teleported yet? What was that sound earlier?

I slowly opened my eyes and there was a bright light.

Ahh! My eyes!

Either that light was a bright LED light which is used in surgery rooms and this was all a dream and I woke up during the middle of my surgery or I was saved by someone.

As my eyes adjusted to the light, I already knew it was the second choice.

In front of me was Aurelia who had blocked Seiya from sending me to the camp. Damn, and I was actually looking forward to the camp. At least I can go home and eat some dinner. It's not good to miss dinner you know?

Aurelia kicked Seiya away and he rolled across the floor.

"You did enough Ordos," she said as she sheathed her rapier, "I will take over for now."

I just stared at her, sighed, and shook my head. My head was feeling light, and I felt like I was going to pass out.

"Whatever, I don't really care. I'm tired as hell anyway. Just do… whatever… you have to do."

And then everything went black.
