i have read about 70 chapters and this is my review, there a while lot more downsides to the story than upsides.The novel has a good story and a decent MC with decent word building but that's about it. I sincerely hope that this book is a translation because other than that I can't find another good reason for how bad the writing is. From purely a grammatical standpoint this novel feels like it's written by a 4th to 6th grader; words that don't even make sense are used in sentences, phrases that don't go along with the story, and the writing only gets worse as the story progresses. And the story development isn't a whole lot better, characters show little to no improvement over entire lengths of the novel, the author is constantly switching up the classifications of power systems(never explains it either), and for some reason the language of the novel completely changes after chp 73 like there's a while new author writing the story.

I think everyone here is more cunning than MC. Is this how Assassin fights, no advantage in starting fight, no family checking of person he is going to kill, Not even a clue where he is living and who is more influencial than his support and what are their character,everything here is mess. Too Disappointing.

I hope you guys check it out. https://assassins-chronicle.fandom.com/wiki/Anfey Pros: 1) The story does not try to make the MC best in the universe unlike other cultivation novels. 2) The romance is sweet which is described in every few chapters. 3) The heroine is not useless whose only role is to motivate the MC but is actually powerful enough to help the MC in various situations. She is actually much powerful than MC till now and is considered top genius. 4) There are no stupid 'young lords' who try to kill MC and in turn gets themselves killed. 5) The MC is not 'charming' that every girl he meets will fall in love with him at first glance. Cons 1) The translation quality is not good. 2) Many things are messed up like nobility titles (sometimes the MC is Duke, sometimes earl and sometimes even baron), power levels etc.
Great book with a great story filled with well done characters. The story pacing and exposition goes in balanced clip and the main character is not OP but has to deal with real obstacles both in his power and the challenges of the situations presented. This book is well worth the read with the only downside is latter day editing. Towards the 300+ chapter mark the translation begins to miss the paragraph breaks and punctuation along with sentence spacings. Also, at least one chapter has been heavily censored and a good portion of the chapter removed completely. A few times along the book certain segments or paragraphs have been paraphrased or edited to lazier, shorter phrases. A joke here, an opinion there. Not the whole picture originally offered. Paraphrased. Other than that, I very much appreciate the author and the original story material.
I'm not going to lie...from what I have read of the 200 chapters ....this majn character doesn't have the essence of an assassin....this book didn't do any justice to its name and dashed the hopes of plenty of people like me who were looking for an assassin main character plot...I would basically recommend otherworldly evil monarch before I recommend this book...the title especially is too misleading...đđđđ
I really liked this story! No, it's not a new idea, but the author makes the reincarnation/transmigration bit work out pretty well. It helps that both the plot and character development move along smoothly and are well done. My only complaint would be that the ending isn't as complete as I would like it to be, but it really doesn't detract from the story at all. If you're like me and like heroes who are practical (read: ruthless) and not just bleeding heart treehuggers, then I highly recommend this.
Not bad but not good either. Fight scenes are ok but the development untill the end is depreciating. For readers that wants a detailed and climatic end, this might not be your cup of tea. Also, a lot of things and situations are lacking in depth, clarity, and conclusion. 1. The title is irrelevant to the story. It's not a chronicle at all. It's just another human who was killed in a stupid circumstance and then live in another world with his memory and skills intact(in the abyss), and then was summoned to a sword and magic world by a dark arts archmage. - This plot was a diamond in the rough, but was neglected by the author and was just made as an icing to a bland cake. 2. A side story "His life in the Evil Abyss" was mentioned and rooted as a foreshadowing factor for a bigger premise but was neglected until the story ended. 3. The author was not able to elaborate his art/discipline/power until the end. If a reader who has basically a little to no knowledge of eastern or other wuxia books, he might deem this book as an idiotic piece of work. 4. It's rushed. 5. Side characters had equal to more screen time than what they should have. Sometimes, too much side character build up in a rushed story is a poison to the readers.
Started out great but became a confusing mess towards the middle part. The end is just... abrupt. It's as if the author grew tired and felt that he doesn't want to write anymore so he simply wanted to end it. It was bad because the readers know that there had to be more but the store has closed down. To be fair, the author at least tried to tie up some of the loose ends in order to come to a conclusion rather than just dropping it and going on indefinite hiatus. The early parts were great and was one of the better portrayals of a professional assassin minus a few points due to the author's insistence on justifying the MC's morality but it was entertaining despite of it. The middle part was ambitious and introduced plot branches that went in all directions. The story at that point was jumping from one branch to another and then circling back in a very jarring manner. Eventually, the author couldn't keep up anymore and to avoid a total collapse, we ended up with a very unsatisfying end instead.
It was a decent book. I liked the fact that, while the MC is very confident about what he does, he is actually often wrong and messed things up. I'd say the author spent a very large effort to develop side characters, so much that many times you can forget who the MC is. The translation is OK. It's well translated, but there are many editing problems. It's not rare to see something renamed 4 times in 4 chapters. The only thing that really pisses me off is the ending.. I've just read a book that was dropped and picked this one because I didn't see any bad reviews about the ending. Turns out, the ending was dropped here too.. That's very frustrating, a very good way to ruin an ok novel, imho.
The world with magic is to embellish the story. For those who have read (WMW, TWW, AOA) you will probably be disappointed. The level of the magicians seems to be for the ornament being vulnerable to any surprise attack of a normal human being. The MC is a sign that becomes a caregiver for children. It's very ridiculous. Wizards are ruled by normal humans. In short, he is a cold killer who goes to a world with false wizards who practices knowledge of his former world as if it were better than the knowledge of this world.
