30 Knighting

The doors to the throne room creaked open and everybody turned to look. Sansa gasped as she saw the haggard form of Griffith stagger inside his armour resting on his hunched back. Whispers filled the hall as the stark guards dispersed and they could see the trail of blood following in his wake.

The King stood, a heavy frown on his face, "Ser Arys, lend him your assistance." The knight quickly strides forward and was about to lend her brother his assistance when Griffith swatted his hand away. "I must do this myself!" he spat nearly falling to one knee in the process. Ser Arys stood up straight and seemed to tell Griffith something before retreating a few steps.

The hall fell silent again and the lords and ladies watched as her brother slowly stumbled towards the throne. Finally collapsing before it his armour tumbling beside him.

Sansa watched as the King slowly descended the stairs of the Iron Throne, taking the sword Ser Mandon presented to him, "Griffith Snow, ", he stepped before him, touching the blade to the squire's right shoulder, "in the name of the Warrior I charge you to be brave." The sword moved from his right shoulder to his left. "In the name of the Father, I charge you to be just." Back to the right. "In the name of the Mother I charge you to defend the young and innocent." The left. "In the name of the Maid, I charge you to protect all women." He put the sword to his side, "Now rise, a knight of the Relm!"

Clambering to his feet, Griffith smiled, "Thank you, my King." he then wabbled and collapsed into Ser Arys' arms. Sansa quickly grabbed Joffrey's hand and the young Prince squeezed her softly. "He'll be fine," he said reassuringly. They then watched as Ser Arys accompanied by a few Stark men, carried Griffith out of the hall.
