FREYA'S POV

I sat on the sofa while listening to the siblings while they are discussing something about the borders and the invaders. I feel like I am responsible for everything that is happening now.

"Sorry for everything, If I did not interfere in your fight with the guy, maybe your life is at peace right now" I said with my vision still on the ground. I can't face them after all these troubles I am causing them.

"No, it's not your fault, and you saved us a lot of time in finding you" Adam said while smiling.

"And also, our lives are not peaceful at all. We have mission every now and then that coming home without a scratch is a miracle." "Here, look at this…" Avah said while showing me her arms with scar. "I got this on my first mission, I almost died that day." she said while laughing.

"Why are you laughing? I mean, that is a serious wound." I asked in disbelief.

"Getting mad every time I can see this wound won't do me any good so I just shrug it off and laugh for all the dumbest thing I did before." You do have a point. I hope someday, when I look back at this moment, I can also laugh because of my dumb actions.

"By the way, the elders are looking for you. But you have to take a shower first." When was the last time I took a bath?

"And also, your house is ready, you can take a bath there." Adam added

My house? I have one? Here?

"My house?" I asked in shock. How?

"It was your parent's house. My family and yours are good friends that's why we took care of it hoping someone in your clan will occupy it someday. Who would have thought that that someday will be today?" I smiled sheepishly. This is unbelievable.

"But how did you know that I am that child?" I asked them. I could be someone else.

"You are the only child that was born on the year the attack happened. All the other kids are already 3 years old or older so we know that it is you." All these years I hated my parents for abandoning me. I did not know that they are already gone. I don't know if I should be happy that they did not left me on purpose or I should be sad because I can't be with them anymore.

"Let's go?" Avah asked me.

"To where?"

"To your house" I think my eyes sparkled the moment she said those words.

I am having my own house? For real? After all those years of suffering just to find a decent place to sleep?

Avah started walking and I just followed her.

This place is beautiful! I did not notice it earlier because of what happened but this place is what you can call a paradise. There are lot of flowers and trees, there are animals everywhere and there is a river not so far from where we are standing.

"This is a paradise." I said to myself.

"I agree with you! Thank God we have them." Avah said while pointing at the kids who are planting and growing plants on the garden.

"They are our food providers. Every day they deliver fruits, flowers and vegetables for free."

"Really? That's amazing!" Does that mean I no longer have to worry about my food?

"We are here!" Avah said while opening the gate of a two-story house.

The house is beautiful. It is built with wood and the wall is not painted but the windows and doors are color white. The fence is made out of wood painted in white that looks like the fences you can see when visiting a ranch. Roses in colors red, pink, and white were planted just beside the fence to add a life and color to it.

We stepped in and groups of butterflies welcomed us. On the right side, I can see three lemon trees bearing lots of lemons. In front of the lemon trees, there are four chairs and one table topped with a pot where edelweiss is planted. And on the left side, plants like cherry tomatoes, cabbages, and egg plants can be seen.

"This place is like a dream." I said to myself but Avah heard it too.

"That is why we took care of it when your parents died." I felt a pain when she mentioned the word died.

"For eighteen years, we always visit this house and let the fairies- that's what we call those who can easily grow plants- take care of your mother's plants. We can't let this paradise just die in vain." Avah said while looking around the place.

"But I believe you are still young when everything happened, how did you know all of these?" I asked her.

"The bond between your family and mine is something that cannot be broken even by death himself. My parents took all the responsibility of keeping everything at place until you come back." How did they know I am alive if all of them was believed to be slaughtered?

Avah gave me the keys and I opened the door myself. The floor and other furniture are made out of wood but the wall and ceiling are color white. It is like a country house but modernized.

"My father decided to renovate some parts of the house and make it look more modern to keep up with the time. The water and electricity are working and everything is ready." I looked around the house. This is mine now? This is unbelievable!

She went to the kitchen and I followed her. Everything is already here, the utensils, appliances that I need, the chairs and tables and even the fridge and storage room is full of goods.

"This is too much." I told Avah. I believe that they spent thousands just to maintain and renovate this house.

"No, Freya. You deserve all of this. Your parents are richer than you could ever imagine." My parents are rich? No way.

"All of us here has our own identity when we visit the outside world for missions. Since we can't go back here without accomplishing our missions, we have to find ways to keep up with the normal people. Every move outside involves money that is why your parents built a store that soon became a company. Anyone who went to the outside world to carry out a mission has to work for the company so they can have money and they won't become suspicious." Does that mean I am an heiress?

"Your parents are still the owners of that company but my parents are handling it since they have missions outside right now."

Everything seems surreal. I cannot digest it all at once. I don't know what to feel and react. This is too sudden.

"Well I guess we need to hurry up since the elders are waiting. Climb these stairs and the last room is your room. You have your clothes with you and everything is ready in your room. I'll just wait here for you." She went to the living room and turned the T.V. on I smiled at her and went upstairs.

While walking upstairs, I noticed the large frames displayed on the walls. Those are the pictures of a happy family. And on that moment, I wished that I hadn't met Adam and Avah.
