Chapter 20: Zeke

Asher sat on the bed in the hotel room he just rented, then he removed his shoes before laying on the bed. He sighed deeply before sleeping, he wanted to rest before heading out to retrieve the sword he stole.

After sleeping for hours, he stood up and he went into the bathroom attached to the room to take a quick shower then he changed his clothes before setting out. It was almost night time but the city was still bustling with people, everywhere was noisy. Asher deliberately wanted to retrieve the sword at night, based on the memories he got, the sword is buried in a place where it might attract people.

He took a bus to a nearby city and he headed into a forest close to the city. Getting to where he buried the sword, he dug the ground and he brought out the sword that was laid in the ground. The sword had a black hilt and it was in a red sheath, covering the blade, but Asher knew the hilt had more functions. The sheath concealed the aura of the sword and that prevented other supernaturals from sensing the sword, thereby getting attracted to the sword that will spell trouble for Asher.

Asher quickly covered the ground and he kept the sword then he left the forest. He was mildly surprised that he didn't meet any trouble while retrieving the sword. He went back to his hotel room and he patiently waited for Zeke, he knew Zeke wouldn't give him the money easily. But he was ready to take on whatever he brought, he is a Vampire after all, what can puny humans do to stop him?

When he arrived on Earth, he treated everything on Earth including the humans residing on it with care and love. But that was until innocent lives were taken, people he knew, loved were killed. Then he realised that this world didn't work the way he thought, it only made way for the strong.

And he would be strong and protect whatever he loved, but he now thought about something greater than that, he wants to change this world. He wanted to make things fair for everyone then… his door was knocked, interrupting his thoughts.

" Who's that?" Asher asked as he walked towards the door slowly, he had to be careful.

" It's me Zeke." Said from outside the room, Asher opened the door and he ushered Zeke inside the room.

" You are early." Asher commented as he locked the door to the room after Zeke with three men entered.

" Do you have any problem with that?" Zeke said sharply.

" No, have your seat." Asher said as he sat on the bed, Zeke sat on the only chair in the room and his men stood behind him. Before Zeke said anything, he saw a sword laying on Asher's bed, the sword looked fancy and he thought about the money he would make if he sold the sword.

" Nice sword you have there Asher." Zeke commented with a wry smile on his face.

" Yeah it is, I wonder how it would look as it separates your head from your body." Asher responded as he chuckled. Zeke shivered slightly after hearing what Asher said.

" So do you have the money?" Asher asked.

" Yes, I do."

" Then give it to me."

" Before that, you have to tell me what's in for me." Zeke said firmly.

" I expected that, you can have this." Asher said and he brought out a large crystal, he stole the crystal with the sword and he retrieved the both of it together. Zeke's eyes widened in greed as he stared at the crystal, the crystal is worth more than a million Riara, yet this guy is giving him the crystal for a million.

Zeke stretched his hands towards the crystal but Asher didn't give him the crystal.

" The money first." Asher said then one of the men that came with Zeke brought a bag that contained a million Riara and he placed it beside Asher. Asher then gave the crystal to Zeke but Zeke didn't leave, he just kept staring at the crystal.

" What are you still doing here?" Asher asked.

" I can't leave now." Zeke said as he kept the crystal.

" Why?" Asher asked, confused, the deal is already done, so what's he still doing here?

" Why would I leave if I can have the crystal, the money, your life… and the sword." Zeke said as he shot the sword a greedy look.

" What's that supposed to mean?" Asher muttered before realisation hit him when the men Zeke brought with him brought out guns and they pointed them at him.

" I see you made preparations." Asher said calmly as he looked at Asher and his men. On the surface, he looked calm but he was inwardly looking for ways he would escape the hotel.

" Do you think I will just come here and give you the money and then you leave? You have grown dense Asher." Zeke said before standing up and he also pointed his gun at Asher.

" Bye old friend." Zeke said as he smiled broadly, but before he could pull the trigger, the gun was sliced into two. Asher sliced the gun with his claws and he stood up with his eyes blood red and he smiled, showing his fangs.

" What are you?" Zeke shrieked as he ran towards the door with the intent to escape. The other men that came with Zeke shot at Asher but he managed to escape the bullets except for one that pierced his thigh.

" Sorry boys." Asher muttered and he dashed towards the men, he quickly snatched a gun from one of the men and stabbed the man's stomach with his claws. After killing the man, he threw the man towards the other two men and they dodged the body but before they could look up, their necks were already sliced. They were too slow for a Vampire, all of this happened in seconds and Zeke hadn't left the room after Asher had killed the men.

" It's over now, Zeke." Asher said.

" I didn't come here alone, monster!" Zeke shouted before laughing loudly and a bang was heard as the wall was pierced by a lightning attack. The lightning hit Asher and he was sent flying against another wall in the room, he fell to the ground as his powers disappeared.

A witch suddenly teleported inside the room and he walked slowly towards Asher but he stopped when he saw the sword on the bed in the room. The witch walked towards the sword and he couldn't contain his surprise as he approached the sword.

" You have it, you have it." The witch shouted hysterically as he looked at the sword, he stretched his hands towards the sword to take it but he stopped.

" Don't touch what's mine." Asher said as he looked at the witch with anger.

" It was never yours to begin with, Vampire." The witch said and he turned to face Asher.

" It's mine now." Asher said.

" I heard they have seen another Vampire recently, I didn't know I would meet you here." The witch said.

" You have brought me something important brother." The witch said to Zeke and he conjured a fire chain and he sent it towards Asher. The chain wrapped around Asher's body quickly and it restricted his movements.

" Now you aren't going anywhere." The witch said before surprise hit him as Asher broke out of the chains. Asher ran towards the witch but before he could reach him, the witch teleported behind him. But he was not heading for the witch in the first place, he was heading towards the sword.

He took the sword and he unsheathed it as he stared at the witch intently, the room suddenly gradually turned hot before the witch released a large fireball, sending it towards Asher.
