Chapter 25: Aarons Coming of Age Ceremony

Time flew by like the wind, Ash continued her physical training and after a month of hard work, she advanced all of her physical attributes to the E-Rank. Aaron made tremendous improvement by implementing the special armour in his daily activities, managing to reach the C-Rank two months before his ceremony. The coming of age ceremony was held by The Guild, a world-wide operation system that allowed the economy to flow. It was divided into multiple branches, the most common branch that was pursued was the Adenturer Guild. The coming of age ceremony is normally held for young people who pursued a career until they found something they wanted to do or until they saved up enough money to retire. The youngsters can choose what branch they wanted to join, the included the Merchant guild, Alchemist Guild, Enchanter Guild, Forger Guild, Technology Guild, and multiple others, the one branch that allowed all of this to happen was the Adenturers Guild. The way that the adventurers guild worked was that depending on your overall capabilities, it would determine your rank and status.

Early in the morning, Matilda was setting up the dining table, as the whole Revera family all came from their rooms, they ate and chatted, discussing about Aarons ceremony. Once breakfast was over, they all set out for the village, deciding to walk as a refresher and warm-up for Aaron who was eager. Eenutally passing buildings until they reached the center of the village, met with a two storey building, they walked in. "My son will be taking the Age Ceremony" the clerk nodded and an elderly woman walked down from the stairs which were behind the clerks desk. "Follow me" the Revera family followed into a small office room which was in the downstairs of the building. "So, which branch do you want to try for?" Aaron smiled, "The Adventurers Guild". The elderly lady nodded, "Max and Sasffiyah, would you like to hold the ceremony?" both of them nodded. "Very well then, the Adventurers Guild entrance exam will start off with the power stone, this will read your body's physical and magical abilities, next will be the close combat exam and then the magic exam. The very last thing will be taking on an F-Rank quest, earning you the title of an F-Rank Adventurer, the quest will be a randomly chosen quest from the billboard outside for F-Rank Adventurers. Follow me". The elderly lady stood up and brough them to a room a little bigger than the office room.

"You see that crystal there, touch it" said the old lady bluntly. Aaron walked over to the crystal and put his right hand on it. The crystal started to glow and a rune appeared on it, "C-Rank!" exclaimed the old lady with a face full of surprise. She then shaked her head and calmecd down "Since you are higher rank in power, after you complete the F-Rank Exam, you will get the chance to take a higher ranking quest until the D-Rank, which will then require the standard 100 Rank quests for the respective rank, this is due to the high chance of grave injury or death due to inexperience" said the old lady who lead the Revera's to a small field behind the Adventurers guild. "Aaron, follow your father into the array, Saffiyah, can you start the second exam?" Max and Aaron walked into the field while Saffiyah sent mana into a crystal on a small podium, a line appeared on the field that went into four obelisks, suddenly, a thin barrier was put up. " This exam will be about physical combat, magic is not allowed" Aaron nodded, "Start".

Aaron took out his spear and readied himself, mana coated itself around his body and sword, Max nodded to this but no mana was coated onto himself. Aaron stepped out with his left leg first, lunging and making a huge dash towards his father. Appearing near Max, Aaron lowered his center of gravity, in a lunge stance with his left leg forward and his spear telegraphed to his right side, concentrating all of his power into a straight thrust. Aaron unleashed this attack aiming at his fathers throat, Max swayed his head to his left and lowered his stance, making use of his experienced footwork, he side stepped to Aarons Right, curling a fist and punching Aaron. This happened during Aarons attack, he saw his fathers movements but had concentrated too much power and wasn't able to dodge. The uncoated punch didnt do much damage but Aaron was sent flying to his left. Catching himself, Aaron shifted himself so as his back was facing the way he was sent flying and did a backflip, landing into a squatted position. Max coated his right leg with mana and dashed for Aarons right side again, giving him no chance to recover. Sending anoth punch to his son, Aaron retaliated by lifting up his spear to block the blow. It didnt send him flying but Aaron still stumbled, landing on his butt. "Don't rely too much on your abilities" berated Aarons father who without any mana dashed towards his son and sent a kick flying towards his abdomen. Aaron quickly circulated the mana into his legs and jumped, reaching the roof of the barrier.

Max watched as this happened, Aaron did a small flip and his feet were planted on the roof, launching himself towards his father. "Slow down son" said Max as he easily side stepped Aarons quick attack, sending another kick towards his abdomen which connected, sending Aaron flying towards the other side of the barrier.
