Our story opens with a boy named Ash, whose goal is to be a Pokemon master, and his partner Pikachu, his very first Pokemon who has traveled with him since he started his journey. Ash and Pikachu have recently lost to Alain in the Lumiose Conference and are heading back to Pallet Town to prepare for their next adventure.

Ash: Hey buddy, too bad we lost the Lumiose Conference huh?

Pikachu: Eh, it's fine, we'll win next time.
