5 What's a time-rift?

After leaving the mid-sized bustling town we found ourselves in the nearby forest between the cave I awoke and the town. Chirping and roars could be heard throughout the forest. All types of beasts and animals roamed the woods. They've been serving as sufficient experience. I didn't decide whether or not to become an adventurer or anything else. Ailine is also stronger than I originally thought.

Her abilities are unique. She seems to be a combat healer. She uses blood magic to drain the life force of her enemies to strengthen herself or her allies. She can also use the blood to heal whoever she desires. The ability to heal, coupled with my innate tankiness from my species. My class as a Holy Defender also helps with my tankiness and makes combat easy.

It was a beast called a wind bear. Its super-human windspeeds can make mincemeat out of most lower leveled adventurers, as well as all the trees in the surrounding. I've dubbed this attack wind blades. Although, the only thing these high winds have achieved is giving me cherry-blushed cheeks from turning me on. Whatever I used the most during a level is what stats leveled up the most. If I beat my enemies with physical strength, my strength Stat increases the most. If I use magic, magic increases.

"Ailine, have you reached your level cap yet?" She nodded at my words.

"Yes, wife. I'm level 20/20 and can evolve my class into Bloodmancer."

She doesn't have to do much. I'm frankly overpowered for this area. But I'm still having her practice fighting various monsters and even myself to get a better handle on her body movements and abilities. From the looks of it, strength is determined by a few factors.

First, training one's body does increase their physical abilities even if it doesn't raise their stats. Second is combat experience, and having a good grasp of how to move your body and react to things accordingly, will increase your capabilities without increasing your stats. Third is nonsystem-related abilities and techniques. Lastly are stats and skills.

Also, when I kill something, and levels up because of it. Instead of getting strength, she'll gain points according to what she's used most during that level.

"Alright, go ahead and evolve. I'll protect you."

She simply nodded and then sat down next to the large trees overlooking our surroundings. Evolutions take a while, so I decided to train my body by doing push-ups and sit-ups between killing random monsters that meandered into our lazily built 'campsite.' It was just a poorly built campfire.

Hours passed, and I found myself grilling some wind bears until the blinding light surrounding her dissipated. Her body matured a few years. If before she looked, maybe 12 or 13, now she looked 16 or 17. Her modest bosom when it was compared to mine if not slightly larger had grown further putting mine to complete shame. I almost grabbed them to rip them off out of spite. She wasn't a child anymore physically, so I was pretty envious. I mean, I'm hot as fuck. But for someone so young to have a better pair than me...

Other than that, she grew a couple of inches and is now slightly taller than me. Her hips had attained some curvature fit of a woman. Her facial features were a bit more refined and mature instead. They were no longer soft and childlike. Her bright orange eyes darkened a little bit, but they were still a beautiful orange. She had quite a seductive smile as she looked at me. Wait.. what? "Ailine.. your body may have matured, but you're still young, and isn't this a fake marriage anyways. Actually, it's not even marriage. Why should we do things like that?" That should stop her for now.

That is what I thought when I suddenly felt her hand cusping and tenderly squeezing my bubbly butt.

"I know you're the 'clothes' you're wearing are an illusion and that you're naked. I also witnessed you masturbating last night. Evolutions also mature the mind along with the body."

Pushing her away once more, I shook my head. "No, I can't do that with someone else. Not this quickly. Okay? You forced this pact on me, so at least follow my request." Even if it's mean of me, I have to do this. I might be awakening a lewd side to me, but I have morals as a Holy Dragon.

She looked slightly dejected but finally gave up at my request. After that, we slept once more, or well, she did after eating. I stayed up to keep watch before embarking the next day.

Alright! Today, I to level and evolve. As well as test out her new abilities. "Ailine, are there any strong monsters or dungeons or anything for us to rest our new abilities and to help me level?"

"Hm? Yeah, there should be some time-rifts nearby."

And what the fucking hell is a time-rift? Oh wait, I said that I'm my head.

"And what the fucking hell is a time-rift?"

"How do you not know?"

"Because I love living under rocks. Why else? I told you I had a head injury and lost my memories." She looked at me surprised as if she had completely forgotten. The 'oh yeah' look. Although, truthfully, that's not what really happened, as I've just been in a deep hibernation for 10,000 years, whatever.

"Time-rifts are rifts that go into other dimensions filled with monsters and other things. They all have a boss inside if not multiple, and time inside goes at a faster pace." She's totally going to skate by the fact she completely forgot about my supposed amnesia. Alright girly.

"The monsters and even boss monsters respawn indefinitely, and only a few people can be in a time-rift at any given time. Unless it's a greater time-rift. There are also superior timerifts that have never been completed before and there is little to no information about them."

"So where can we find some of these time-rifts?" They sound really interesting. There was nothing like this back then. It should be a good way to gain lots of experience, both experience points and familiarity with our new abilities.

"They're usually in caves or at the bottom of a lake. Some people build towns around some to make money and safely domesticate it to nurture beginners." Caves huh? Is there one further in the cave I was in? Also, how was I able to sleep here undisturbed for 10,000 years?

"There should be one in the forest of the damned about a couple miles past this mountain. If we go to any near here, it'll be highly contested, and we'll only be able to do one run before having to wait our turn again." Hmm~ I see. Well, having Ailine around wouldn't be so bad after all. I've killed a few things, and I'm only level 4. So I'll have to take advantage of these time-rifts or find other ways to level.
