Blood and Justice

Li Feng opened his eyes.

Every part of his body ached. He couldn't move for all he knew.

"What happened?" He thought to himself, his mind still in a daze.

It took a few moments for his memories to return to him.

The girl that was standing there, in the elder's hands. She blew up. And it seemed to be on purpose. She killed herself in an attempt to kill the people around her.

A rage welled up inside him that he couldn't push away.

"Another awake!" A shout forced his attention to where he was. In all of his thoughts, he failed to realize that he was amidst a rising chaos.

There were people talking all around him.

Young boys and girls, around his age, dressed in pink robes, running around what seemed to be a giant hall.

It was nothing he recognized. But then again, there wasn't much in the sect that he did recognize.

"This one is in relatively good shape, considering how weak he is." A hearty chuckle from the right forced Li Feng to turn his head.

He winced from the pain, looking at the shadow that shield the bright light that came from the ceiling of the hall.

He could tell that it was another one of the sect's characteristic old men. But this one had a more playful tone, like he wasn't a stickler for rules.

"Where… am I?" Li Feng managed to wheeze out.

"I would suggest you just circulate your Qi and do nothing else. That way, you can recover." The old man said.

"Oh, right. Now that you are awake." He chuckled and a shadow his his hand was also visible.

He moved it swiftly, and Li Feng could see a small, shining yellow ball suddenly make its way into his mouth.

The moment the ball touched his mouth, it seemed to melt into a caramel texture that just slid down his throat.

It was warm and comfortable, and for a second, Li Feng forgot all the pain that plagued his body.

But then, his eyes opened, blood shot red, and he started coughing violently.

Black blood started spitting out, and he felt his veins throb with overuse.

His blood was pumping around his body with shocking speed, and his whole body felt heavier and even more sluggish than before.

"What is this? I feel this warm feeling in my Dantian? Was this ball that was given to me rich in Qi? It seems to have some wondrous effects." He muttered to himself.

"Alright. That's one of them. These kids are perhaps the luckiest in the entire history of the Seven Sword Sect." The old man said as he moved away from Li Feng.

"Luckiest? What kind of twisted mentality does this old man have?" Li Feng cursed inside.

"To be able to consume the Golden Lotus Pill in their first day in the sect? That must be unprecedented. The fourth elder is going to start crying today." the old man's voice was getting more and more distant.

But it seemed that one of the disciples wearing the pink robes had stayed near him.

"Don't worry. You will be fine. You survived the dangerous part. Now, all that remains is circulating your Qi and trying to use it to quicken your natural healing progress." The girl said.

"Where am I?" Li Feng asked again. His voice cracked with a lack of water, but the girl didn't seem to care.

"The Medicine Hall. Independent of the jurisdiction of the elders." The girl smiled and said.

"You are very lucky. You seemed to be at the relative end of the classroom. When we found you, you had a fist stuck inside some rubble though. By the looks of it, you were trying to punch through with Qi?" The girl laughed as she asked.

Li Feng bit his lips and nodded.

"You are the stupidest kid I've seen then. Who would use Qi like that if they want to blast a wall? They would use a technique that forces the Qi to act like a blast." The girl shook her head.

"Well, it seems like this common sense eludes me. I have never worked with Qi before, so this was a first for me." Li Feng sighed.

"Oh well. Too many people are alive. I have so many to tend to." She skipped away from Li Feng.

"Wait!" He quickly called out.

"Did anyone die?" He asked at the girl who looked back.

"Don't worry. That's not something that you should worry about. Just recover. Always remember. When you are in the sect, the sect will take care of you, no matter what happens." The girl laughed and turned around.

"That doesn't even remotely answer my question." Li Feng shook his head as he took a deep breath.

He looked forward, and suddenly, another look frightened him.

"My arms! My legs! What happened? Why are they so dirty?" He shouted with shock.

He wasn't complaining about a normal emulsion of blood and dirt that he expected to come with such a blast.

Instead, there was a dark coating of a sticky fluid all around his body.

He was sure that it wasn't there when he first arose from his deep comatose.

"And why does it stink so much? I can't bear this! This smells worse than the bathrooms of the slums!" He tried to get up, but he couldn't summon the strength.

"Oh god, please give me the strength to get up and wash this off. The smell is unbearable!" He pleaded as he looked up.

But as it seemed, god's mercy only extended to saving his life.
