3. Blood Bath

Roxy was barely a 3-tailed fox and an 8-months old when her regular, peaceful life was turned upside down.

It was a peaceful day. The sun shone brightly from in between the leaves, making bright patches on the forest floor. Roxy was returning hunting trip. She had quite a good haul. She had managed to catch a fat boar and a couple of rabbits. Being quite proficient in element magic, she used the wind to carry her prey as she happily skipped to her home.

About half a kilometre from her home, Roxy could plainly smell blood from her heightened senses. Her foxy senses were telling her that something was definitely wrong. She dropped her prey immediately and used <God Speed> to get there as fast as she could. After reaching her destination, the sight in front of her shocked her. She saw about 50 Orcs lead by a big orc attacking her parents.

'MUM! DAD!' she yelled in her head as she made her way to her parents.

The two foxes rapidly turned their heads towards their daughter, worry and fear evident in their eyes.

"Pup! What are you doing?! Get out of here!"

' NO! I'm NOT leaving you both here and running away. What happened? Why are they attacking us?'

"We don't know child. They just started attacking us out of nowhere."

' But we didn't do anything, then why- MUM! WATCH OUT! {ICICAL CRASH}!'

As she was asking her mother why a bunch of pissed-off Orcs were attacking them, an orc appeared behind her mum and was about to attack her, when Roxy used her ice magic to instantly killed it. To her horror, the other orcs surrounded the dead orc and started eating it.

The 'he' fox's face paled. He turned to the 'she' fox and told her, "You take her and leave. I'll catch up with you."

'No! You can't do that! We have a better chance of survival if we stick together! There are about 50 orcs here. How are-'

She was cut short as her mother grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and ran away from the commotion. Roxy protested with whines and barks but her mother just ignored her.

After a while, both of them could see the orcs closing in on them. They were moving much faster than usual. Roxy naively asked," Where's papa? He said he'll catch up with us." The look in her mother's eyes was all she needed to know. Reality hit her like a train. The sun had begun to hide in the clouds as if ashamed of facing the forest.

'H-he's not coming, is he? H-he s-said -"

" I know pup. I know. We can't let his sacrifice be in vain. We have to get these pigs off our tails. They are surprisingly fast and have an excellent sense of smell."

'But I've been using <Undetectable> all this time. How can still smell us?'

The old vixen's eyes lit up like a light bulb."Maybe <Undetectable> only applies to you. Maybe they have been following my scent all this time....."

It didn't take a genius to figure out what her plan was.

'Oh NO! Nonononono. I know what you are thinking. If you think I'll let you be a bait to lead them away, you're sorely mistaken.'

"That's the only way pup. I apologise for this in advance. And remember that I will always love you." 'Huh?-'

As she said this, she jumped on a tree flung Roxy to the trunk, and used her skill <Nature's Grace>. The tree grew some extra vines and wrapped themselves around Roxy, preventing her movement. After confirming that the vines were secure, the vixen jumped from the tree and went in the other direction. As expected the orcs followed her ignoring her child.

' You underestimate me, mother.'

Roxy used her nature elemental magic to loosen the vines. She then used wind magic to completely cut off the vines. She next ran towards her mother's scent at full speed. She begged and begged for the fox's safety. But she arrived a second too late. Roxy arrived just in time to see her mother being killed in cold blood by the biggest orc.

It was as if something snapped inside her. The fox who raised her lovingly even after knowing her past as an ex-human was dead. Those fucking pigs killed her.

[TW Blood: The text after this will have mentions of blood. Also, I have never written a blood/violent scene so this may not be the best one you have read. I will write ''🩸TW Over🩸'' after this scene is over, so those who are uncomfortable with this kind of stuff can skip there. ]

Roxy let out a blood-curdling howl. The kind of howl that sends shivers down your spine. This caught the orcs' attention. She was mad, no she was furious. She let her anger known by jumping to their height and using her wind magic to decapitate the heads of the orcs in her path.

The blood from the dead orcs who had no time to react was now spraying all over her. Her beautiful white fur was now covered in blood which glistened like rubies. She soon came face to face with the orc which looked like their boss. She stood protectively over her mother's lifeless body.

Without a warning, she let out the two wind blades towards their leader who blocked them. She figured. It was going to be much harder to kill that boss monster. She used <Undetectable> to hide her presence and then circled the boss using <God Speed> to confuse him. She suddenly used a water blade to slice that orc's arm off successfully.

'I am going to make you BLEED. I WILL REMOVE EVERY SINGLE DROP OF BLOOD FROM YOU.'

Shockingly, the orc before her eyes started to bleed from every single pore of his body. The cut-off part of his arm started to bleed buckets of blood, like how a tap pours water. He then burst like a water balloon spewing blood everywhere. (Or a blood balloon....?). Roxy looked at her reflection in the water from the water and was startled to see her usual lilac eyes gone blood red.

Having lost their leader; the small fox pup seemed much stronger than themselves, the other orcs started to panic and leave, but Roxy had other plans.

'So you think that's all huh? Just gonna leave like nothing's happened? I don't think so!'

With that Roxy used {Flare Circle}, trapping all the orcs in a circle of fire. Turning any orc who tried to leave into ashes. The orcs didn't know what was happening but they were sure that killing that pair of foxes was a mistake. Before they even had time to react the orcs could feel their hearts being stabbed with their own blood like knives. All of them could feel the blood leaving their bodies before they finally went cold.

[🩸TW Blood Over🩸||For those who skipped this part, Roxy basically went berserk when she saw the orcs kill her mum. She figured out how to use her Unique Skill<Blood Manipulation>and killed all of them. Also, her eyes go blood red from her usual lilac when she uses this skill. I will also add a link for a song in the comments that somewhat explains Roxy's rage. For those who can't see it, the name is 'Reflect' by Gawr Gura ]

After piling all the dead bodies of the carnivore pigs together, she set them on fire. She didn't want the smell of blood to attract other predators. Well, it was too late for that. If it had meant to attract other wild monsters, it would have already done so.

She had to keep moving. There was no hope of finding her father's body as those who eat the body of their own kind, would in no way leave an enemy's body intact. She was glad to be able to save her mother's body though. After walking around for some time, she found an open grassland.

'This seems like a good place to bury a body.'

Roxy used earth magic causing the earth to swallow her mother's body whole. She walked away from there and headed into the forest in another direction. By the time she reached a sealed cave, she was tired. Not the exhausted-tired but the sleepy-tired. Too lazy to think why the cave would have been sealed in the first place, she manipulated metal on the door to form and walked straight in.

As she was about to fall asleep, she felt the movement of water in the cave.

' Huh? There is water in here? Well, good for me. I can't wait to take a dip in some clean and cold water to get this sticky orc blood off me.'

Roxy followed the mild sound and scent of water to reach a river. Like an eager puppy, she jumped in the water, splashing water everywhere and washing off the blood. After the water in her area was too bloody for her liking, she went further into the water stream and used Water Manipulation to keep herself afloat. She felt relaxed and comfortable with the current situation and slowly drifted off to sleep.
