2. Wait... Why do I have PAWS!?

'Eh?' 'W-what happened?' ........... 'Right, I got shot....' 'Am I dead?' 'No, I can feel my arms and legs....' 'It.... doesn't hurt anywhere... I feel all warm and fuzzy.....' ' Where am I?' ' Am I still in school?'

Suddenly, she felt something wet against her cheek.

'Huh....?' ' Did something lick me?' Roxy steadily opened her eyes only to see something white and furry right up her nose. She fell backwards and tried to say something but it only came out as a whine. She looked around just to see a pair of 5-tailed white foxes looking at her lovingly. She tried walking simply to fall again.

' Huh? It looks like my legs aren't strong enough to hold my weight...'

She looked down dejectedly just to notice 2 furry paws with a gradient of blue and white (A/N: Image in comments.😁😁. IMAGE NOT MINE.CREDIT GOES TO NAOMI LORD.) in place of legs.

'Say WHAT?!' ' Why in the world do I have PAWS?!' 'I'm not human?'

Roxy hastily turned around and was met with the sight of 2 white furry tails. She brought her hands.... eh, paws? up to her nose only to find it replaced with a snout.

'Is this some kind of weird isekai anime where you die in one world and get reincarnated in some other world with magic and monsters? I'm rather sure it is.... EXCEPT I GOT TURNED INTO A FOX AND I'M PRETTY CERTAIN FOXES CLASSIFY AS MONSTERS. DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT I WOULD TRADE MY KAWAII( A/N: It means 'cute' in Japanese. ) FACE FOR A FURRY SNOUT? NAI WA!!! (A/N: ''I don't'' in Japanese)'

She thought all of this in a long string of growls, whines, barks, angry fox noises; and then proceeded to dramatically sit on her haunches, while rubbing her right paw on the ground like sulking for a 2-year-old whose mother didn't buy it candy. Roxy's stomach suddenly growled and she looked beyond embarrassed. The two foxes laughed in a fox-like way at her antiques. The bigger fox then got up, went to Roxy's butt and nudged it with its snout, encouraging her to go to the other fox.

"Go to your mother, child. She'll feed you." Roxy looked at the bigger fox in shock. 'So you guys CAN talk. Why didn't say so before? Here I thought I would have to spend the rest of my days in solitude.', Roxy thought with a bark.

" When you say that, you don't sound like a newborn but like an old vixen.", the bigger fox commented.

'Who are you calling an old vixen, you-' Roxy took in an astonished gasp of air. ' Y-you guys can hear me? I am quite sure I didn't say a word out loud...'

This time the other fox spoke up. "Of course we can hear you. You are our pup. All parents can hear their pup think-" Roxy was about to think something when the 'she' fox continued, "- Yes we did hear what you thought earlier. You have some explaining to do."

Roxy opened her mouth to bark when she was interrupted by her stomach growling louder. The 'he' fox said," You can explain later pup. First, eat."

Roxy trotted over to her mother and started drinking her milk. As some time passed, she could feel her hunger being satiated. ' Well, I may not walk on two legs anymore, but I could get used to this warmth'.

For the first 5 weeks of her new life, Roxy could only remember feeling either hungry or sleepy. Her parents didn't push further about what they had overheard her thinking. She was grateful for that but she told them anyway. After, explaining to them about her previous life and how she had died, the female fox, her ''mum'', asked her how she knew that she was in a different world, to which she replied, 'I'm pretty sure the foxes we had there didn't have more than one tail.'

Her father seemed so horrified at the sound of foxes having only one tail that he fainted. Her mother didn't help when she told Roxy, it was pretty obvious who she had gotten her dramatic genes from. After her father woke up she asked him,

' Geez, it is just about a tail. why are you being so dramatic?'

" No, no pup. You are so naive. The number of tails on a fox symbolises the amount of power and strength of skills the individual has. It is such a shame that foxes in your world are so weak that they have only one tail."

'But foxes back home don't have any powers or skills. They were just normal animals without supernatural powers.'

After hearing that, he fainted again. This time her mum used water magic to instantly wake him up rather than letting him take another long nap. After waking up, he immediately started fretting over the foxes of her world and both the females had to remind him that Roxy was from a different world and that things didn't work the same way there.

That sort of calmed him but he was still fussing about foxes and tails and normal. How her mum had tolerated this guy while staying sane, she didn't know; but after a while, she got used to it.

She later learned about some of the skills that she had. By the time she was 3 months old, she earned the species skill called <Skill: Mirage> and could hunt small animals like rabbits easily because of her other skills. The other 3 skills she could control were <Unique Skill: God speed>, <Unique Skill: Total Elemental Control> and <Unique Skill: Undectable>. These skills were quite useful when it came to hunting.

After a while, Roxy began understanding the common sense of the world. The monsters of the world didn't usually have a name, which she saw as unfair. She later found out that the monsters generally evolved after being named which wasn't true for humans, hence levelling out the balance of nature. She was quite enjoying her time with her mum and dad; felt quite satisfied with her current life. But as they say, all good things must come to an end.
