68 Warmth

68.

I woke slowly, still trapped in the body of a mouse. As the anesthesia wore off and I could finally think without feeling like I was floating, I noticed a few things.

The first was just how sore and tired my mouse was. It was more than just the lightheaded feeling of too many drugs, but rather something I felt down to my very bones.

It was as if I took in too deep of a breath; I might completely shatter.

'Shit,' I cursed softly, waking up my poor mouse. 'I'm sorry I didn't notice it sooner.'

My mouse gave a tiny shrug and let out a long yawn. 'There was no need for you to know. You overthink absolutely everything. Knowing you, you would have done something stupid thinking that you were better than what you actually were. This was the best way to stop you from doing it.'
