Amanda stood at the invisible line between the shifter's world and the human one. It wasn't a physical one, and technically, as far as the humans were concerned, it didn't exist at all.

 

But one side of a post had been marked by Raphael, letting every shifter than passed it know who belonged on the otherside, and who didn't.

 

Shifters had been around since the beginning of time, long before humans even arrived in the world. Enough cross breeding meant that shifter blood was getting more and more diluted while humans just kept increasing in number.

 

They were a plague without an antidote.

 

But while some humans lived on the shifter side of the city, no shifter lived on the human side.

 

Letting out a snort of distaste, Amanda stepped forward.
