58 Another Trap

"Caleb is the person in charge of all the safe houses in this city," grunted the man, clearly not happy that he had to give in to the pressure that Lucien was putting him under. "Essentially, he is our boss."

"Is he the one who pays for everything?" asked Lucien, raising his eyebrow at that statement. Because if he was the financial backer of Mouse's Haven, then clearly, he was richer than Raphael… and that wasn't something just anyone could say.

"No," replied the soldier, his expression easing as Lucien gentled his command. "He says that there is one more boss… someone that owns every last one of MH around the world. But he refuses to tell us anything more."

Lucien nodded. So either Caleb was using someone else as a smoke screen, or he really did know who the final boss was and was trying to protect him. Either way… Caleb was someone who needed to be dealt with. And fast.
