seeing Dr. Charles pick up the scalpel again, Soren breathed a sigh of relief. 

After all, this wasn't a regular clinic; some wicked ghosts had very quirky requests. Having one's head sewn on was considered a rather tame procedure. Occasionally, someone might come in requesting a head transplant, in which case using an axe or a saw would be perfectly reasonable.

Dr. Charles was such an honorable person, and he had sworn on his professional ethics. Surely there wouldn't be a problem! 

As Soren was thinking this, he saw Alexander extend his hand, a touch of red light appearing in his palm and placed on his neck.

Following that, his body below the neck seemed to lose all sensation, while his head remained completely intact and unaffected. 

Soren craned his neck with effort, watching the masked Dr. Charles in front of him pick up the scalpel and aim it at his belly.
