13 Chapter 13 : Another World

After meeting Krul, Arata returned to Shibuya, and no one knew anything about their encounter, as written by Vampire Queen.

A day had passed since the meeting with Krul, and Arata decided to go to another world to find a way to revive Maya.

After contemplating for a long time, Arata decided on the world he wanted to go to, one that was suitable for him to become stronger and obtain a method to revive Maya.

"The system, I want to use the multidimensional travel function," Arata said, sitting on a random surface and looking towards Shibuya.

[Ding, please specify the travel method and the world you wish to go to.]

"I will go through the gate, and the world I want to go to is Tokyo Ravens," Arata said, unable to hide his excitement in his eyes.

Taizan Fukun Ritual.

That was Arata's goal this time, as he was almost certain that he could revive Maya because the system of the Tokyo Ravens world was very similar to the world of Owari no Seraph.

But he needed to go to the world of Tokyo Ravens to confirm it for himself and obtain the Taizan Fukun Ritual.

Taizan Fukun Ritual is a specialized ritual performed by souls and used to revive the dead.

Although Taizan Fukun Ritual is considered a great ritual, it is just a part of a larger and more powerful ritual.

Arata was almost sure that he could revive Maya, even if the Taizan Fukun Ritual didn't work because all he had to do was learn the original ritual from which Taizan Fukun Ritual branched.

[Ding, travel method and world have been specified.]

[Commencing the absorption of necessary life force to travel to the world of Tokyo Ravens.]

[150 years of life force absorbed as the price for traveling to the world of Tokyo Ravens.]

[Ding, does the host want to specify the time difference between the world of Owari no Seraph and Tokyo Ravens World?]

"Adjust the time so that I return before the departure to Nagoya," Arata answered after thinking for some time.

[Ding, the command has been received.]

[Creating the gate to Tokyo Ravens World... 1%... 3%... 7%...]

"..." - Arata silently looked at the counter in front of him, patiently waiting as he would come much closer to his goal just by going to Tokyo Ravens World.

Before leaving, he had informed Mito and the others that he was going to train to control his power, so there was no need to worry as he would return in a few days.

Fortunately, after a minute, a milky white gate appeared in front of Arata.

[Once the host enters the gate, they will be transported to a random location in Tokyo Ravens World.]

Upon seeing the system notification, Arata didn't hesitate and entered the gate, which disappeared as soon as he stepped in.

After moments of the gate vanishing, a person with three pairs of wings appeared, looking around in confusion.

This person had milky white skin, feminine features, silver hair that reached their back, and golden eyes. However, due to their loose clothing, it was impossible to determine their gender.

This was none other than the First Progenitor, Shikama Doji, who felt a great power emanating from this place and came to investigate.

"There's nothing here," murmured Shikama Doji, looking around to find the source of the power they sensed.

After searching for a while and finding nothing, they decided to return inside their host and contemplate the matter further.

_

Tokyo Ravens World.

"Where is this?" murmured Arata as he looked around, finding himself in a vast garden with a massive, old Japanese-style palace next to him.

"Welcome to the Tsuchimikado Family's palace, Kasuga Arata-dono," a respectful voice came from a man in his twenties.

"..." Upon hearing his name spoken by the man, Arata became cautious, examining the man carefully.

The man in front of him appeared to be around 21 or 22 years old, with black hair, dark green eyes, wearing glasses and a black yukata.

"Tsuchimikado Yasuzumi," Arata murmured, recognizing the man easily as the father of the protagonist, Tsuchimikado Harutora.

After identifying this person, Arata was able to deduce how he knew his name and his whereabouts.

"That's correct. It's a pleasure to meet you, Arata-dono," Yasuzumi said, raising his head to see Arata clearly.

Tsuchimikado Yasuzumi was the head of the Tsuchimikado family, a first-class Onmyoji, and a talented fortune-teller who could predict the future through divination and star reading.

"I can understand how you found out about me, but what do you want by meeting me?" Arata asked, releasing his spiritual power to exert pressure on Yasuzumi.

(A/N: The spiritual power mentioned here is the same as demonic power, but its name will be changed depending on the world. Essentially, it is a spiritual power and differs from Mana, Qi, Magic Power, etc.)

"I will tell you everything, but what do you think about discussing it inside?" Yasuzumi said, gesturing for Arata to enter the Tsuchimikado family's palace, seemingly unaffected by Arata's pressure.

"Very well," Arata nodded and retracted his pressure since he could see that Yasuzumi's complexion was pale, but he endured it without saying anything.

...

"Can you repeat what you just said?" Arata asked, doubting what he had just heard.

"Can you become my son?" Yasuzumi calmly asked, seemingly unaffected by Arata's astonishment.

"Are you serious?" Arata asked, looking at Yasuzumi in disbelief.

Although Arata could guess the reason behind Yasuzumi's request to become his son, he couldn't believe that someone he had just met was asking him to become their son.

"Yes," Yasuzumi nodded calmly, seemingly unfazed by anything that could disturb his composure.

"..." Upon hearing Yasuzumi's answer, Arata fell silent and seriously considered Yasuzumi's proposal.

Although Arata knew Yasuzumi's goal in adopting him, it seemed like a small price to pay for what he would gain if he became Yasuzumi's son, as he would have access to the Tsuchimikado family's library, which is the origin of Onmyoji.

"Do you want to deceive the world that I am the reincarnation of Yakou?" Arata asked calmly, seemingly unconcerned about Yasuzumi's exploitation of him.

"Indeed, and in return, you will enjoy the position of heir to the Tsuchimikado family. Additionally, you will obtain powerful Shikigami inherited by the Tsuchimikado family, allowing you to learn all Onmyoudo spells," Yasuzumi said calmly, sipping his tea.

"Then why go through all of this to conceal the reincarnation of Yakou?" Arata asked, puzzled by why Yasuzumi would do all of this for Yakou.

"Because he is my son," Yasuzumi answered without hesitation, his determination evident in his voice. "It doesn't matter who he was in his past life. He is now my son, and it is a father's duty to protect his child."

"..." Arata fell silent upon hearing Yasuzumi's words, genuinely amazed at his acceptance of his son's reincarnation and his willingness to protect him.

"I understand," Arata nodded, deciding to go along with Yasuzumi since he had nothing to lose from this. "So, do you want me to protect your child if anything happens to him?"

"That's correct," Yasuzumi nodded, unfazed by Arata's knowledge of his other motive behind offering all these benefits in the deal. "I want you to protect my son until he grows up and can protect himself."

"Then it's settled," Arata said with a simple smile, feeling happy about how easily he entered the Tsuchimikado family.

"When would you like me to start acting as your son?" Arata asked, sipping the tea in front of him.

"My son was born just yesterday, so I want you to start behaving as my son after three years," Yasuzumi said, finishing the rest of his tea and standing up.

"I'm fine with that, but I don't know how to change my physical age," Arata said, carefree, as he sipped his tea.

"Don't worry, there are many spells in the Tsuchimikado family library related to changing the age and structure of the body and bones. There is no way for anyone to discover your secret," Yasuzumi said, his voice filled with pride when mentioning Tsuchimikado.
