The Beasts In the Forest

The first thing Lin Ke did was bury the dead body of Master Sal. Using a shovel bought from Lily, he dug a large enough hole at the top of the mountain and buried Master Sal there. Thankfully, Lily was kind enough to help transport Master Sal's dead body up there, so Lin Ke could focus on getting up the mountain in one piece. There was a narrow and extremely steep path up the mountain, but it was difficult to get up there. Lin Ke decided to bury Master Sal up there in order to keep his body from becoming food to the odd animals that might live in this forest.

After all of this Lin Ke heads into the forest, leaving Lia in the cave alone. Lily had said the cave would be fine, that she had layered it with a concealing array. Lily was sitting in Lin Ke's hands, looking extremely sleepy. The forest was massive, with many different types of plants and animals Lin Ke had never seen before. There were plants that looked like mushrooms but had teeth, there were little shrubs that had spiky red thorns, and many other random plants. There also many small animals that resembled squirrels, and other larger animals like deers.

As he walked through the forest, heading towards the location Lily had provided, he couldn't help but notice many knocked over trees, trampled plants, and other signs of destruction.

"Hm? Was this all caused by that Three-Eyed White Tiger King?" Lin Ke asked himself with a shudder. The damage that the animal had caused was immense and just the aftermath was enough to make Lin Ke fear for what was about to come." Maybe he was also insanely powerful like Lia and the other guy."

"Oh, that's right Lily, I forgot to ask earlier because there was so much going on, but what is an Energy Core? What is this World Energy and how is it different from True Energy?"

Lily opens her eyes. "Mmm? Well, I guess now I have to tell you these things huh. An Energy Core is something that most people in this realm don't have. The reason for this is that the World Energy in this realm isn't pure enough for most people to condense one, and even when they do condense one, it is usually of the lowest grade." Lily says as they walk.

"This brings me to your second question, as to what World Energy is. Like True Energy, it can be manipulated and used by someone, but utilizing World Energy requires the acknowledgement of the world itself. The energy comes from the world itself, and the world lends the user a small portion of it."

Hearing this, Lin Ke feels enlightened. "Ahh. I see. Well, then what about the Divine Grade Core you mentioned earlier?"

"Divine Grade Energy Cores are the highest grade Energy Core you can have. It can hold a massive amount of True Energy, making your True Energy reserves almost limitless, allows for faster flowing of your True Energy, and a higher quality as well. Divine Grade Energy Cores store Divine Grade True Energy, which is super oppressive and powerful." Lily replied.

Hearing this, Lin Ke feels excited. "Lily… Can I get a Divine Grade Energy Core? Lily?"

Lily ignores him, and closes her eyes again.

Lin Ke doesn't really want to, but he decides to try and appease Lily. "Lily? You're the most useful system around… Why don't you just hit up God and ask him to just grant me a spare Divine Energy Core? Pleeeease? Lily? Lily?"

However, Lily still does not answer. Slightly annoyed and frustrated at this point, Lin Ke decides to pull out his ultimate trump card. "I'll b-"

Suddenly, Lin Ke heard a loud roar coming from directly in front of him. The sound shook the trees around him and caused the animals nearby to flee. Surprised, Lin Ke stopped what he was about to say and looked towards the sound. After the loud roar, a terrifying wave of pressure descended upon the area, causing the tree branches to groan in agony. Lin Ke also felt the effects of the pressure, albeit relieved slightly due to Lily's help. The pressure still causes Lin Ke to break out in sweat.

Lin Ke looks down at Lily. "Lily… Don't tell me that that is from the Three-Eyed White Tiger King?" He asks slowly, as if hoping she would tell him he was wrong.

"Yep!" Lily replied.

"Oh thank god! I knew you would never send me to my-" Lin Ke blinks. He smacks himself a few times and looks up and the sky to clear his head. Then, with a smile he looks down at Lily, who was still in his arms.

"Hahaha! I must have been sleeping or something earlier, because I heard something insanely ridiculous! So, that's not the Three-Eyed White Tiger King right? That's what you said right?"

"No, that's him right there!" Lily replies nonchalantly.

Lin Ke's smile becomes strained. "Hehehe hehehe. I know you didn't purposefully send me on the early road to hell now did you."

Lily shrugs. "It's fine! All you need to do is draw him! Now go! I got your back if something goes wrong! Plus, you have to save Lia don't you?"

Hearing this, Lin Ke no longer had a choice in the matter. This was probably the fastest and most fail-safe way to heal Lia. Putting on a brave face, Lin Ke marches forward towards the noise he heard earlier.

As he got closer and closer, the pressure got stronger and stronger, the roars more frequent. Suddenly, he heard a screech, one that sounded like it came from a bird. From the sounds of it, the bird and the tiger were very hostile to each other.

Finally, Lin Ke saw a clearing up ahead, and when he stepped to the edge of the forest, what he saw was a majestic and overwhelming sight. Two animals, a Tiger with silky white fur, and a large majestic eagle with a pitch black beak were facing off. The clearing had a small lake with a small patch of grass at the center. Lin Ke felt his eyes drawn to that patch of grass. He felt that there was a powerful and ultra dense amount of energy coming from it in waves. No, it wasn't coming from the grass, but a beautiful purple flower that was growing on top of it. It seemed like the two creatures were fighting over that flower.

"Wah! What a surprise!" Lily suddenly said. "To think that that would grow in this realm!"
