76 The Auction Will Be Starting Shortly

Ami smiled nicely. She had a row of perfect teeth that compliment her near flawless face. She was, no doubt, a beauty in her own right. She had blonde hair that curled up at the edges, as well as a charming oval face. She was also quite well endowed, although her uniform hid it quite well.

"Please, this way." Ami led Lin Ke and Lia to the VIP room to the right of the main door. Inserting a key into the doorway, Ami unlocks the door with a click. Pushing it open, Ami waves her hand, sending out a wave of True Energy through the air, causing the room to light up in a fluorescent light.

Lin Ke looked at Lia, who met Lin Ke's gaze. After a brief moment of hesitation, Lin Ke stepped in alongside Lia. After they entered, Lin Ke closed the door behind them. The room was quite spacious, with a leather couch in the center. The design of the room was quite simple, with a clean white design throughout. There were only a few other things in the room, and not a whole lot on the walls. Aside from a few artworks and a clock hanging on the walls, it was quite bare.

However, the main point of the room was the large glass wall directly in front of them. It peered right down at the stage, where rows and rows of seats angled upward.

"This is the VIP Room #1, a private room for you to do you bidding as you please." Ami begins. "This glass is reinforced with Titan Glass 6, a cutting edge, top of the line defensive glass capable of withstanding the full forced attack of a Soul Condensation Realm cultivator. The glass is also only visible from the side, whereas from the other, it just looks like an opaque wall."

"Wow! That's quite a lot of protection." Lin Ke marveled. 'Titan Glass 6? Why did it sound so familiar… Hmmmm. Maybe I should test to see if it scratches at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7…' Lin Ke thought.

However, Lin Ke didn't have time to test that as Ami continued to explain. "Whenever you wish to bid, you can inform me and I will help relay your bid through the communication crystal over here." Ami gestures to a small table next to a golden chair. On top of the table was a small blue crystal, pulsating with a bright blue light.

"Here is a menu of all the different dishes that we can serve you, cooked by hand selected chefs hired for this very purpose. The ingredients used in the dish are all top tier, and will offer many health benefits." Ami gestures to a sheet of clear paper lying on the coffee table in front of the couch. On the coffee table was also a tea set made out of clay, making it look more like a historic relic instead of an actual tea set to be used.

Lin Ke marveled at the effort the Artifact Hall put into the room. It seemed like quite a lot. Hiring a chef for this event? Having an entire menu??? Why did it seem more like a show than an auction?

"Also, this room is fully soundproof and anything you say in here won't be overheard by anyone outside. This is, of course, to ensure the privacy and the security of our top guests. If you require it, we can also provide you with a bodyguard for 7 days after this auction, in case any random person decides to try and steal what you rightfully bought." Ami continues.

A bodyguard? What was this place? They really did think of everything!

"Is there a particular flavor of tea you would like?" Ami asks.

Lin Ke shakes his head. "Lia? What do you want? I'm fine with anything."

Lia holds a finger to her chin in contemplation. "Mmmmm. How about some refreshing green tea? That's always great."

Ami nods. "Alright, please hang on a moment."

In fluid moves, she picks up the tea tray. She walks over to one corner, where there just so happened to be a small stove with a kettle on it. Next to the stove was a cabinet filled with all sorts of different herbs and tea leaves. After heating the water, Ami quickly prepares the tea, and in a flash, sets in down in front of the sofa.

"If you have any questions about the auction, or any requests, please feel free to tell me. I will try to address them to the best of my abilities." Ami says with a bow. She then took a seat at the golden chair. "Please take a seat. The auction will be starting shortly."

Lin Ke walked over to the sofa, which was raised up slightly in order to offer a good viewing angle through the glass. Stepping onto the steps, Lin Ke sank into the sofa. The sofa was quite soft, but also had a premium, luxurious texture to it. It gave a feeling of absolute quality, and, in Lin Ke's old world, it would probably be the type of seats in a supercar.

"Wow, this is pretty comfortable!" Lin Ke commented.

"Mmm, you're right!" Lia said, plopping down besides him.

Lia sat down besides Lin Ke, marveling at the scene before her right now. She hadn't gone to an actual auction in a long time. The last time she visited one was when she was around 6 and her grandpa had dragged her there. She had always found it extremely boring. However, her grandfather was a person who loved to visit the auctions. He always said that "one never knew when real treasure will appear…"

Lia smiled sadly as she recalled her grandpa's old quirks. The old statements that, at the time, sounded extremely lame and old, but if possible, Lia would be willing to hear it another hundred times over now. But it was all too late.

Now, looking down at the darkened stage from such a vantage point, Lia couldn't help but feel as if she missed out on an experience. As she stared into the darkness, Lia slowly felt her mind drift off. Slowly, her eyelids closed, and she fell asleep.
