Tang Feng gradually became proficient in playing flute. He looked a lot more elegant too after the meticulous grooming of Qing Yun. But Qing Yun was really a very strict teacher. He may seem cheerful and naughty, but he was really a perfectionist. It was very hard to satisfy him.
After being satisfied with his flute playing, Qing Yun started lecturing Tang Feng at Military Martial Arts.
"So tell me kid, how do you generally kill someone?"
"I look for a place to hide, then judge the enemy's strength, look at the environment and judge the best arrow that is efficient in killing him!" replied Tang Feng.
"Now, tell me then kid, what will happen if you miss? If there is a Spirit master will teleportation skills, or any such mystical skill that lets him avoid your arrow? If he is an agility type spirit master and is able to close the gap between you? What are you going to do then?" asked Qing Yun seriously.
"I will use Shadow Steps and create a gap between us!" Tang Feng immediately answered thinking of his first fight with Osler. But Qing Yun immediately interrupted him.
"That was possible for low level Spirit masters. But Spirit skills which are usable without spirit ring won't overpower the speed of agility type spirit master! What you need to do is fight with him, push him back or engage him until you find an opening to escape and create distance between the two of you!
Do you know kid, most of the soldiers in the military of Heavenly Dou Empire are common people, rather than Spirit masters. And for spirit masters, we really don't have many high level ones! Most of the high level spirit masters either belong to the clans or the Spirit hall! The Empire can't command them.
It might look that Heavenly Dou Empire is a supreme power of the mainland! But truth is that it is very weak, compared to Spirit Hall. Still, our empire tries it's best to protect the safety of it's people!
The Sky Guardian Battalion established by our Emperor was to fight against Evil Spirit Masters. Do you know kid, there is a Spirit Hall branch at even the most remote place of our empire. But, the spirit hall or the clans never take any action against these evil beings. Not only that, many Spirit Masters love to harm common people. They don't abide by the laws of the empire. To stop them, our spirit masters developed many martial arts techniques which can help even low level Spirit Masters to fight against high level ones.
Now, I am going to teach you such hand to hand combat techniques. Do you know kid, as our cultivation grows, our body's strength and reflexes keep on evolving. So, it is easier for us to use weapons and martial arts to defend ourselves when we face high level Spirit masters and perhaps even defeat them when we work as a group.
The technique that I am going to teach you uses knife. It is a knife technique which depends on agility and reflex to quickly defeat your enemy!" With the end of the lecture, Qing Yun started showing Tang Feng the basics of the technique.
With this, a new subject added to Tang Feng's daily training. He would wake up early in the morning, practice Mysterious Heaven Technique and then go on practicing his military knife technique. After that, he would rehearse with his flute and then learn about noble etiquettes from Qing Yun. After two months, he was almost proficient in everything he learnt for so long!
His spirit power reached to level 50 thanks to his daily cultivation and his flute playing. Playing flute had a soothing effect on his soul, helping him cultivate even quickly!
Qing Yun had a letter delivered to Master Hu informing about this. Both Qing Yun and Master Hu decided to go help Tang Feng hunt his spirit beast.
Master Hu came to Golden Star Pavilion three days later. He and Qing Yun decided to take Tang Feng to Extreme North where they wished to find a mirror image beast for Tang Feng.
Mirror image beast is a rare beast that can only be found in Extreme North. This beast was the reason why Master Hu could become a top assassin of the empire. So, obviously both Qing Yun and Master Hu, who had no other disciple except for Tang Feng, wanted to find this mystical beast for him.
After Master Hu came to the Golden Star Pavilion, they decided to take off to extreme north the very next day!
