Arrival of the Monarch

Since time immemorial, the Great Universe grew along with its inhabitants. Countless races emerged and fought as they struggled to get power. During this, innumerable forces rose and competed to reach the peak position in the universe. However, time is cruel. Every castle that was erected crumbled; none withstood the test of time, none, except The Nine Perpetual. "From the beginning, we stood, until the end, we will." Their invincibility was weaved through the very fabric of reality. It was an unquestionable fact until The Monarch arrived. For the first time since events began to be recorded, one of The Nine Perpetual shook to the point that it almost crumbled. However, one can only do so much without risking everything. Unwilling to let go of their reputation, The Nine Perpetual used all of their powers to seal everyone under the banner of The Monarch. In a fit of rage, The Monarch used everything he had left and crushed one of The Nine Perpetual, engraving his name in history. The records said he died together with the fallen perpetual; however, records do not always reflect the truth.

Ferren Clan (2)

Everybody turned to look at Aezir as if asking for an explanation. Even the patriarch who was behind him could not help but doubt his eyes.

"What did you do!?" The elder with long white hair and beard asked.

"I killed him," Aezir answered indifferently.

"You dare barge into our clan and kill one of our elders!?" another elder with red hair said before dashing to Aezir. However, he could not get any closer since Jaq blocked him.

"Patriarch! That person just killed our kin! He needs to die!" the red-haired elder shouted.

"Makh! Calm down. Let us hear him out first," the patriarch said. Makh obediently moved back, but he did not remove his glare toward Aezir.

"You think just because you are a Master; we will bow down before you!? This is the Ferren Clan! Even if we all die, we will die with dignity!" the female elder with fading brown hair said.

"That's right!" everyone said.

Aezir could not help but visibly sigh. Aezir then waved his hand. A surge of wind went to the dead elder. Then, slowly, his face started to peel off, revealing an unknown person.

"Gather everyone. Every single person under the banner of the Ferren Clan. If the Ferren Clan is to soar to the position of the Lone Island ruler, you must make sure that there are no wolves dressed as sheep. Do not delay this matter. Gather them all at 7:00 am in the arena. Decide now if your clan is willing to cooperate or not because if you are not, I will not waste my time here. There are a lot of ways to fulfill my promise," Aezir said before walking out of the meeting room.

"Patriarch, what are we going to do?" an elder asked.

Time quickly passed. A tense discussion ensued right after Aezir left. The entire upper echelon of the Ferren Clan was confused. They did not know what they were going to do. They knew just how vicious the world is, so they were skeptical about Aezir helping. However, in the end, they still chose to follow the decision of their patriarch.

In the arena, a lot of people had already gathered. There are only a few minutes left before 7 am. The patriarch said that all of those who are not going to attend will be marked as a traitor and will be killed to atone for their sins. This prompted everyone to rush to the arena, causing a wild discussion about what was going on.

Minutes continued to pass, and at exactly 7 am, a dome surrounded the entire arena, imprisoning everyone around. It was a pitch black dome, making everyone inside blinded.

"What happened!?" an uproar erupted from the crown in fear. After a few minutes of shouting, the uproar finally died together with a lot of people who were inside the dome. Young, old, male, female, it ranged from every category to the other, but there was one thing that was the same, they were all wearing fake faces. The crowd was too shocked to react; even the elders did not expect such a thing to happen.

However, none of them could blame Aezir as they knew that it was of necessity. A lot of the members grieved, but Jaq explained to them what was going on. A lot of spies pretended to be members of the Ferren Clan. They built strong relationships with the members of the Ferren Clan, so despite their betrayal, some members still felt sad.

Just then, Aezir signaled Jaq to gather all the elders in the meeting room once again. No elder hesitated this time. They were all clear about the capabilities of Aezir. They knew that they could only bow down and obey.

"Since you all chose to participate, this will make things easier. What is the current power reserve of the Ferren Clan," Aezir asked with a sense of interest.

"Sir, there are 147 adventurers in the Novice Class, 34 in the Learner Class, and all 9, including the patriarch, who is in the Academic Class." an elder with green hair reported.

"Well, isn't that fantastic?" Aezir lamented sarcastically. "What do you know about The House of Nelpon?"

"Sir, The House of Nelpon is very secretive. We don't have anything regarding them, aside from the fact that they are the ruler of the Lone Island," the gree-haired elder said.

'Just how pitiful is this clan?' Aezir could not help but ask in his mind. "Do you know how to meet some upper officers of The House of Nelpon?" Aezir asked.

"The Lone Island Banquet is something that The House of Nelpon does every year. Creatures from all over the continent come to the Lone Island to celebrate. However, only selected guests from the four major clans of the Lone Island are able to attend," the fading brown-haired woman said.

'A banquet? I was only away for 300 million years, and this is how The Lone Island is? Inviting creatures from all over the continent?! In this sacred ground!?' Aezir condemned in his thoughts, but he still maintained an outward appearance of calmness.

"That will do. It is a suitable place to remind everyone that not just anyone can enter this sacred ground. When is it?" Aezir asked.

"Two months from now, sir. It will be held in the main manor of The House of Nelpon," the fading brown-haired woman said.

"That will be long enough. Now, you, old corpses are of no use already. You are past 20, so it is pointless to invest in you. Therefore, grab five children. The most talented children the Ferren Clan can offer. Bring them to me tomorrow. I shall teach them for them to be worthy of the banquet," Aezir said before leaving the meeting once again.

'The House of Nelpon, huh? I wonder if they are the ones who tainted this sacred ground. Alas, if I am only at my peak, I would have called for The Plateau already. The Perpetuals, just wait. I still remember what you did. The price had not been paid yet.'
