Chapter 7.5 - Another Perspective

Rimuru POV

When I woke up in another world as a slime, I didn't expect to see any semblance of my old world. I could only hope that my kouhai followed my instructions.

The new world was unfamiliar, yet I found myself with several friends from goblins to wolves, and even my destined one…

As I woke up one morning to the usual antics of my newfound friends, I unexpectedly came across a phone. When I asked Great Sage about it, she had no replies. Curious, I picked it up and discovered a new hope of seeing my old world. It was a device that connected people from different worlds, and I was momentarily excited.

Despite only having the device for a few hours, I quickly made friends with people on the phone. Zhongli, the wise and tall man shrouded in mystery. Jinwoo, an innocent young Korean living in a semi-apocalyptic world. Lastly, Clukay, the quietest and loudest person whose world we currently reside in.

It would be a lie if I said I wasn't worried about being in another world, but a greater power that can make Great Sage quiet isn't something I can face, so it was best to comply. I can only hope that everybody back in the village is doing fine without me.

Clukay's world, or what is presented to us through Lungmen, seemed to be similar to other eastern countries in my old world. However, the races, the people and many more things were significantly different.

It was a second culture shock.

Although I can trust my groupchat members, the 'system' that brought us together in what is equivalent to a death game cannot be trusted. We've yet to hear from it ever since it issued the quest, but its presence is ominously in the back of my brain every day.

Despite everything, I still held on to one thing...

Hope.

Zhongli POV

When I watched the citizens of Liyue, I always wondered when it was the end of my role as Archon of this land. I've watched it since its birth, and yet, was I a parent that gave his children no independence? What will be of Liyue if I were to disappear one day?

This thought has plagued my mind, but I had yet to pay heed to it. However, one day, as I was enjoying some Osmanthus wine, a mysterious brick appeared before me. As I picked it up, it glowed and revealed a weird screen.

It took a while, but after some trial and error, I achieved the intended purpose of messaging on the device. It seemed to be of Khaenri'an origins, but if it truly was, those in Celestia would not let this exist.

After having a conversation with the people within the strange device, it turned out to be from beyond the realm of Teyvat. If this thing managed to bypass the sustainer of heavenly principles, then it must be a being beyond imagination. Although I rare to shudder in fear, this was an exception. It was something stronger than Celestia itself.

The power of the strange device was solidified when it teleported me to another realm. To take an Archon away without intervention from Celestia, it either had stealth beyond reason or power beyond reason.

Despite the strange situation of being in another world and threatened with death, I found relaxation in obtaining new knowledge of the city of Lungmen. Its culture paralleled that of Liyue in a few aspects, especially with its commercial significance.

I wonder, if I were to display from Liyue because of this, could it still stand solid as rock? If I survive this ordeal, I have a goal- no, I have a...

Plan.

Jinwoo POV

After the double-gate incident, I woke up with a weird 'system' that gave me quests. At first, I ignored it, but it quickly became one of my most fatal mistakes. I was trapped in a death game to run for my life, but if I completed the tasks assigned to me, I was rewarded and spared from the death game.

I exercised for a few days after waking up from the double-gate incident. I was also retested for a double awakening, however, I was still an E-rank hunter. With some thought, wouldn't I be able to ascend from my position with the help of this system?

As I thought about the implications of the system in my bed, a strange phone appeared in front of me. Was this another ploy of the system?

When I opened the phone, I quickly found myself chatting with a group of strangers. Although I had suspicions, they seemed human and unrelated to the system. Another additional fact was that everyone here came from a different world. It was hard to believe at first, but there was no reason to lie unless this was some weird RP groupchat.

What solidified my trust in the other members and distrust of the system was the quest in the Moderator, Clukay's world. She was at the top of my suspicious list due to her position, but over time I also realised that her Amnesia was real.

Now, I was trapped in another world with a group of strangers in a death game. Being in such a position, I naturally bonded with the other groupchat members. It also freed me from the daily tasks that I needed to do. However, will Sung Jin-ah survive on her own? There was still a sense of…

Anxiety.

I spent two hours trying to research what the 13 Constitutions of Laterano were. Like, WHAT IS CLAUSE 13-1?!?! Because I'm malding so hard, I've decided to vent and write the side-chapter.
