It Begins

Monday, that is the beginning of the most melancholy day of the week.

"Oye this is not the original!!!"

Anyway, Most people would sigh upon thinking about the beginning of a new week, while recalling the paradise that is yesterday.

But that's for most people not for Shimizu Yukitoshi, his situation as we all know is not simple. Unlike most people, he only attends school on Mondays, making it his one and only working day of the week.

Being aware that the summoning could take place anytime, he was always eager to attend school.

'Hmm, the narration feels a bit familiar today. Could this be the big day?' Back to the story.

As always, Yukitoshi was the first one to arrive in the classroom. He took his seat, which would remain empty and untouched for the rest of the week, and closed his eyes to begin his meditation. It was a peaceful routine he had grown accustomed to, as there wasn't much else to do during this time.

Gradually, the classroom started to fill up with more and more students. Some greeted Yukitoshi as they entered, while others simply went about their business. Yuka and her group approached him for a brief chat before moving on. Yuka seemed eager to continue the conversation, but her friends and Yukitoshi weren't particularly close. It wasn't because they didn't like him, but rather because they held him in high regard.

This dynamic in the class, where many people didn't interact with Yukitoshi directly, was not due to hatred or fear. It was simply a matter of respect. They were aware of his accomplishments, such as being the undefeated national kenjutsu champion since the age of 7 and excelling academically.

However, there was another factor that added to his respectability—the group of friends he surrounded himself with, including Shizuku, Kaori, Eri, Suzu, Yuka, etc. They were the popular figures in the class, and their behavior around Yukitoshi commanded the respect of others. It was as if he was the big brother (onii-sama) of their class.

An hour later, almost everyone had arrived, and conversations began to fill the room. Endo, who was sitting beside Yukitoshi, struck up a discussion about the current airing anime. Eri and Suzu joined in, and they all started talking and laughing together.

"Hey, Shimizu-san, you always have your backpack with you. Why is that?" Endo asked curiously.

"Don't mind him, Endo-kun. Yuki-kun is just weird like that," Eri playfully interjected.

"Yeah, Suzu agrees. He's definitely a bit strange," Suzu added with a smile.

"Oh, I'm weird, huh? Well, it looks like I'll have to make some grand plans for all of you," Yukitoshi playfully threatened, hushing their teasing. They quickly returned to their lively chatter.

By that time, Kaori had also arrived. With a cheerful expression, she joined the group and asked, "Hey, guys, what are you talking about?" The chatter continued as they engaged in lively conversations.

These Mondays were a welcome respite for Yukitoshi. It was a little break from everything while waiting for the big event to happen. And he certainly didn't mind it one bit.

As the bell was about to ring, a boy entered the class, more like dragged himself here. He was none other than Nagumo Hajime.

At that moment, most of the male students in the classroom clicked their tongues, and glared at him with a scornful look. The female students also didn't expose any friendly expressions. It was fine even if they acted cold and detached towards him, but some were clearly looking at him with contempt.

Hajime tried to ignore them, and walked towards his own seat. However, there would always be a meddlesome and talkative guy beside him.

"Yo, nasty otaku! Did you stay up all night to play games again? Was it an erotic game?"

"Ew, soo gross~ Playing erotic game for the whole night is really so disgusting~"

Yukitoshi had spoken to Nagumo about these taunts before, but he simply dismissed it. Well, there was no point in helping someone who didn't seek help, so Yukitoshi decided to leave it alone.

"Good morning, Nagumo-kun! Almost late as usual, you should come earlier next time."

Kaori went to greet him, she was curious(?) about him. Earning him all the hate in school, but he himself was a coward or at least lacked the initiative to tell her to stay away.

"Nagumo-kun, good morning, isn't this hard on you everyday?"

"Kaori, looking after him again? Seriously, Kaori is too kind."

"That unenthusiastic guy, it's useless no matter what you say to him."

"Good morning, Yaegashi-san, Amanogawa-kun, Sakagami-kun. Haha, meh, this can be considered you reap what you sow, it can't be helped."

After Shizuku, Kouki, and Ryutaro entered the classroom, they approached Hajime and engaged in a conversation with him. Once they exchanged greetings, Shizuku made her way over to Yukitoshi.

"Well, here you are. How are you, Yuki? You're getting busier and busier nowadays."

"Well, it seems so. Anyway, good morning, Shizuku-chan."

"I told you already, don't use '-chan.' It's a bit embarrassing."

"Oh my, Shizulu has grown up and won't talk to me anymore."

"Oye, stop with the nonsense now." With that, they had a playful conversation, earning somewhat jealous and admiring gazes from those around them.

As the conversation on Hajime's side continued, Yukitoshi couldn't help but wonder, 'Every Monday, it's almost like this, but why do I have this déjà vu? It feels like today is truly the day.'

Simultaneously, the bell that signaled the first class had resounded, as the teacher entered the classroom.

Perhaps the teacher was already used to the atmosphere in the class, she didn't say anything and immediately took the morning attendance.

After that, the class started like usual, and as it should be, Hajime also set out on a journey towards the dream world.

During the lunch break, Yukitoshi sat together with Shizuku, Eri, and Yuka. Yuka had become familiar with him after his regular visits to her restaurant, and she would always bring him lunch on Mondays. She would say, "You enjoy our cooking, and since you only come to school once, it's no trouble at all."

Meanwhile, Hajime swiftly finished his meal within seconds. Kaori approached him, extending an invitation to eat together with their group. However, as usual, he politely declined, which earned him glares from his classmates.

"Ah~ Thank you for the invitation, Shirasaki-san. But I already finish eating, why don't you go have your lunch with Amanogawa and the others?"

"Eh! Only that much for lunch? You need to have a proper meal! I will share some with you!"

"Kaori, let's go eat together, Nagumo doesn't seem like he had enough sleep. Do you think I will allow a sleepyhead like him to eat Kaori's delicious homemade food?"

"Eh? Why do I need to get Kouki's permission?"

"Pfft…" Hearing Kaori's words, Shizuku laughed.

Although by now Yukitoshi was certain that the summoning event was imminent, he still added.

"Nagumo, if you find Kaori troublesome, it would be better to communicate that directly to her instead of wasting both of your time and her efforts. Although I understand your situation and nature, I still think you need to do something about it"

Hajime looked at Yukitoshi with a hint of apology in his eyes, realizing the truth in his words. On the other hand, Kaori looked surprised.

"Why do you say that, Yuki-kun? Am I a bother to Nagumo-kun?" Kaori asked pitifully.

Shizuku let out a sigh, as she also wished Hajime would address the issue directly. It pained her to see her best friend being ignored, and although she felt sorry for Hajime as well, as a friend, she couldn't help but lean a bit towards Kaori.

Hajime heaved a sigh and complained in his heart.

(Enough already, why can't these people be summoned to another world? No matter how you look at this group, they seemed like someone who would be involved in this kind of event... The god, the witch, or whoever from an alternate world, please summon them away~~)

In order to escape from reality, Hajime indulged himself in his delusions of another world, he forced a smile like usual and prepared to get away from here, but just when he got up... he was unable to move.

Not only him, the entire class.

In front of Shimizu Yukitoshi a pure white circle with complex design appeared just under Kouki's foot. Very soon, all the students around also noticed this abnormal situation. Everyone's attention was attracted by those brilliant patterns, they gazed at the thing that looked like a magic circle.

At the same time the magic circle was getting brighter, it instantly expanded to the size of an entire classroom. The abnormal situation gradually expanded under his own foot. The students let out a wail after their stiff body gradually relaxed.

Yukitoshi's voice brimmed with excitement as he exclaimed, "It's finally here!"

Without wasting a moment, he swiftly pressed a button on his phone, triggering a pre-typed message to his parents.

The message read, 'A white circle in class. We are all being transferred somewhere in a supernatural event. Don't dwell on it too much. I will be safe and sure to return. Keep this a secret and take care of not only yourself, but also everyone from the Yaegashi and other families. You really don't need to worry about me. After all, as mom says, I am special.'

Aiko-sensei who had been staying in the classroom until now immediately shouted, "Everyone! Leave the classroom!" However, just at the same time, the magic circle's light flickered as if it was about to explode.

After a few seconds or perhaps a few minutes, when that classroom which was enveloped by the snow white radiance returned to its original state, nobody was left in the classroom anymore. The chairs that fell on the ground, the lunchbox that was left open with half of the food remaining, the messy chopsticks and plastic bottles, all the classroom utensils were there, but not a single soul could be seen. This event — High School Students Spirited Away During the Daytime — caused huge uproar all over the world, but that is a story for another time.

This chapter is a bit shorter. That's mainly because it's based on the prologue of the original story, so I didn't want to take the story too far ahead.

However, starting from the next chapter, I plan to cover multiple chapters from the original in each installment, maybe even more in the future. After all, we all want to reach the end of the story, right?

I must also apologize for the mistake in the name. Yukitoshi is the given name, and Shimizu is the family name. I've gone ahead and fixed this mistake in the previous chapters as well.

As always, thank you for reading, and I would appreciate any reviews or feedback you have to offer.
