PROLOGUE

Chapter 1 - Prologue.

Within a dark palace lined with snow-white roses was a boy standing in front of a giant, forty stepped staircases. At the top was a throne made and lined with the same darkness and snow-white roses. Sitting within the throne was a middle-aged man who surprisingly sported snow-white hair that flowed freely from his scalp down to the middle of his back.

His eyes were sharp, pupils made of amethyst stared deeply at the boy in front of him. His cheek-bones were pronounced, beautiful and alluring, shaping his face to be more divine than anything else. It would be impossible to describe in human terms.

"Elijah… We've been here for months now. Surely you know what you want?" The man spoke to the dark-skinned boy. Elijah's expression was covered by his locs but it was easy to tell he was in a thinking stage. His hand hooking under his nose was more than enough of a sign.

Humming, Elijah raised his head.

"I know what world I want, but the powers and weapon- Is going to be a little difficult. How about~ you give me what you think I should go into this life with?" he countered, his golden eyes glazing over with liveliness. The man nodded slowly listening to Elijah's offer. It made things easier for him if things were up to him.

"Okay, I can manage with that. First tell me the world and I'll then think about what to give you, but! The things will probably be randomized. There's a lot of things I could give you considering there's an infinite number of abilities." A thin smile split his lips as he informed the boy of his decision. Elijah just nodded with a shrug, seeing no harm in the God before him to make the decision for him since he couldn't make it for himself.

After all, God knows best… Right?

"Arifureta is the world I choose. Don't ask why!" Elijah exclaimed, pointing at the God in his throne. The one in question raised his hands to his side, shaking his head in a dismissing manner.

"Your reasoning is of your own! I don't care for whatever reasons you want to go there… Be they perverted or not."

"Anyway, after some strenuous thoughts, I've decided to grant you two items and two abilities. Which do you wish to hear first?" Elijah's eyes narrowed suspiciously. He was skeptical about whether or not to actually take these abilities and items… This God didn't seem to care so much about what he received even though it'd be making or breaking his career in that world.

"Uh huh… Then let me hear the items first." Crossing his arms, he stood firmly, patiently waiting for the response.

Adjusting in his seat, the God cleared his throat-

"The New Ring, and a dialed down version of Yamato. I know I've limited the things you received to four, the sword will bring about an exclusive skill, just for you." Pausing, the atmosphere was quite vividly filled with anticipation and impatience. The pause went on for so long Elijah started tapping his arm with his index finger, his eyes darting around expectantly.

"Er, the skill is Judgment Cut. I thought you'd know this… Anyways, the sword comes completely unbreakable and its sharpness will be enhanced with each life it takes. The New Ring, as you suspect, it's the ring from the rather popular video game from Earth, Shadow of War/Shadow of Mordor. Its effects will be the same, and in which… you will be permanently dead. Your life will depend on whether or not this ring is within your possession. If it's ever removed for a prolonged period of time… Well, I guess I'll be seeing you earlier than we both expect." A tight-lipped resigned smile greeted Elijah at the end of the God's words.

The one in question took it better than the God would have thought. Only nodding in understanding while he sighed and moved on.

'Always has to be a downside to everything… Right? Just hope the abilities make up for it.' He thought, rubbing his forehead. Having that as a downside is huge… One mistake and it'll be over for him, though on the bright side, he's practically immortal.

"And? What about the other two abilities?" Elijah questioned; he was really hoping it was something worthwhile. He didn't mind if it was a power that could take time to actually reach its peak in power, he didn't mind that at all.

But he didn't want a super weak set of abilities that would end up having no room for growth, and were settled at a permanent state. That would be the worst-case scenario unless the power itself is already incredibly strong and doesn't need room to grow. Either way, he just wanted something that was useful and either stupidly strong, or a chance to make it stupidly strong.

"Eh, the abilities you got were completely randomized. Supernatural Weapon Proficiency, growable, and… Noble Elf. Wow… That one's new, wouldn't really consider that an ability but it does come with a set of its own unique racial traits. You do have the capability to use mana/magic with this physiology. So, I guess that's a boon… If you don't count the enhanced supernatural strength and senses." The God shrugged, slouching in his throne.

Elijah's eyes twitched. It was worse than he thought.

"Expand on the boons of being a "Noble Elf"..." Elijah sighed, The God copying. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, The God explained- "Noble Elves in general are basically demi-gods. Born from the Elven Gods they worship. Now in your case, you weren't born a Noble Elf, you are just… becoming one. So, you will have the blood and natural gifts, but no physical features of one. I could always make that adjustment, but that's up to you." The God explained.

Elijah sighed, nodding his head. He had a gist of what Supernatural Weapon Proficiency meant, so he didn't have any questions regarding that. Being growable means that if his proficiency with his weapon grows, so will the skill. Meaning that he would reach the absolute level next, meaning he would basically have a form of instant mastery… Though you would have to get familiar with the weapon first.

That's something that he can settle with. He has no issue training a little harder to gain the ability to master any weapon with a touch.

"Alright, that's all. So, how will this work? You reincarnate me? Or are you just going to throw my soul with all my powers into a new body?" Elijah asked in wonder, The God snapped his fingers in response and Elijah was then enveloped in a piercing white light, his eyes glazing over as knowledge on how to wield and use Yamato as well as insight on his Noble blood and innate abilities.

The light died out as soon as it came, just seconds later and Elijah was back on the ground, his eyes full of vigor.

Elijah's gaze immediately floated towards his right hand, inspecting it, he saw a silver ring with a black ring that sported ancient runic text engraved around the whole of it. Sitting on his middle finger it was secured behind the knuckle, meaning it would take great effort to even take it off.

In his left hand was a katana, a black sheath with a white handle. It was rather plain but the sword itself was far from it. Its power is nothing to scoff at. Ignoring the power brimming from the new ring, Elijah felt that his very body was flowing with unimaginable power.

Just clenching his fist caused the atmosphere around him to shutter.

'T-This!' Elijah was pleasantly surprised. This much power he didn't expect from just being a Noble Elf. I guess the name Demi-God wasn't just for show.

"That ring will keep you within the world of the living, as well as a foot within the world of death. You already know the consequences if that ring leaves your finger. I wouldn't test it if I were you. As for why you are currently geared up now… You will be sent directly into the world of Arifureta, your starting point unknown. Your appearance will stay the same, so be prepared for questions you aren't normally asked. Who knows…? You might be spared the questions, some of those inhabitants are pretty bright." The God stated, a smirk on his face.

Elijah chuckled off-handedly, still inspecting the New Ring.

He knew how to use it and all of its abilities. There was no need for him to practice this, same for Yamato. All he needs is to make sure he gains strength steadily and he doesn't get complacent. When you get complacent, that's usually when everything goes wrong.

"Are you ready?" The God asked, waiting for the boy's answer. Elijah nodded after a minute of contemplation. His gaze resolved and determined to make a name within this world. He wouldn't die a nobody. That's for sure.

"Yep… As ready as I'll ever be." Elijah replied, an exasperated breath leaving his lips. The God merely smiled before snapping his fingers. Elijah's form instantly disappeared from the Gods domain, where he went? Only God knows, but for now…

Elijah's in for a warm welcome!
