CHAPTER 5 - ERYLIS.

CHAPTER 5 - Erylis.

CLICK!* DOOM!*

The two giant corridor doors clicked with a loud earth settling boom as they slowly swung open with the aid of Elijah's strength. The boy in question waltzed into the room with no worry or caution to be found.

He already knew what to expect in the room so he was already on guard, all he had to do was wait for the giant crab, scorpion monster hybrid to attack and he could get busy. In fact, fighting that monster was something he was looking forward to, after the Hydra that is.

He's been wanting to test his physical capabilities ever since he started taking down and conquering the Lower Labyrinths floors. The God said that his physique was that of a Demi-Gods, but a part of him felt that something was missing. He didn't feel as powerful as that title came.

Multiple times Elijah thought that maybe The God lied to him in hopes to speed up the gifting event he was chosen to do, which is why Elijah has been so hellbent on trying to train his mana to naturally boost his physical self.

Mentally sighing, Elijah shook away his thoughts and conjured a tiny, golden-black flame on the tip of his right index finger. Since he didn't have any night vision skills or anything like that, he had to resort to the more… Barbaric ways.

"...I-Is anyone there?" A weak, soft girly voice followed soon after his act. In response Elijah kept quiet, letting his footsteps do all the talking.

"...P-Please… Let me out of here-"

"Mhm, that's the plan princess." Elijah finally spoke, throwing the girl off guard. She expected that she'd have to reason with more effort, maybe even offer herself as payment just for freedom. She never expected that the person in front of her would actively agree so steadily.

"...W-what?" She stuttered. By this time Elijah and his flame were fifteen feet away, her immobile and sealed figure out for all to see. Elijah smirked, chuckling a little.

"What? Do you not want me to?" At his words the blond haired red eyed petite girl felt herself tense, her emotional state about to go haywire.

"H-huh? No! Please, get me out of here!" This time her voice was full of fear and desperation, the chains connected to the huge, pure black cube rattled with a bang! Elijah nodded, a playful glint in his nonchalant eyes.

Walking up, he dissipated the flames, causing the room to darken only for it to light up seconds later. Coming face to face with the Atavist vampire, Elijah utilized one of the more unique abilities of his ring. The ability to siphon mana from any creature or inanimate object.

Of course, it had a limit. All the mana that was absorbed would go through the ring, purifying it but also storing a bit, strengthening it with the more it consumed. Elijah didn't know that the mana would strengthen the ring, but he did know that the purified mana that enters his body causes his own to become more compact, denser but also calms it down.

All mana runs rampant naturally, that's why practice is needed for mages or anyone that can utilize the different elements have to practice their control. Though the people on Tortus use chanting as a catalyst, their words shape and guide the mana to represent their imagination.

Placing his right palm on the cube, positioning himself right in front of the vampire on purpose, he began to activate the ring. In response, the ring glowed brightly, a deep, golden-black light encompassing the room.

The Atavist Vampires eyes lit up with awe and interest as she eyed the Golden eyed, dark-skinned boy. His eyes were so… Calm, flat and sharp but calm. The confidence that radiated off of his boorish stance was so apparent that she could practically feel it. She couldn't help but believe that the boy in front of her would actually be the one to grant her freedom.

VRRRM! *

The cube and ring began to vibrate violently in tandem, the golden light getting brighter and brighter causing the two to lose sight of each other in spite of being face to face.

Elijah felt his hand begin to shake along with the ring. He frowned slightly, his eyebrows barely creasing. He didn't expect this much resistance from the cube. It's not like he's trying to transmute it like Hajime did, but the cube still fought back… Trying to keep its mana from dissipating.

'Just what the hell is this…' With his thoughts, the cube finally folded. The blinding light died out and the cube began to shake even more before it crumbled into pieces, releasing the naked blond.

"...En!" The girl grunted as she felt her body begin to fall, but before she could Elijah quickly gripped her by the waist and brought her to her feet. Feeling his lone hand grip her waist so securely caused a flux of emotions to run through her… Emotions she never felt before.

"Just what was that cube… To resist me that much it has to be an ancient artifact, right?" Elijah probed, guiding the girl off to the side of the room. He was trying to get her out of the way before her guardian made an appearance. Having her in the way would only lead to things being harder for him in the wake that he is actually challenged by the monster.

"...T-Thank you." Her voice trembled slightly as she thanked the boy, her eyes never leaving his face. She found him incredibly interesting.

"Don't mention it… By the way, what's your name?" The girl's eyes widened before relaxing a second later. Elijah noticed this and figured she would actually ask him to name her.

'Ah fuck… Please don't… I don't have a good naming sense!' Elijah was visibly under control but internally? He was on the verge of stressing himself out.

"... I want you to name me." Elijah almost collapsed to the floor hearing her response, it was the worst possible scenario!

Setting the girl down softly behind one of the gigantic pillars, Elijah quickly racked his brain. Deciding that he would stay in the vampire genre, he began to brainstorm.

'Eh, uh… Lilith? No… Too edgy. Um, maybe Esther…? No, no!' The vampire waited patiently. Squatting down and covering herself the most she could with her hands, she watched Elijah internally struggle through his eyes.

His body language didn't give it away all that much except for the little twitch of his eyebrow every now and then. She found it cute, but she was rather anxious.

'...Maybe that was too much to ask…' She thought, her mood worsening.

Sighing, Elijah picked up his head and his gaze hardened. The sudden change in his eyes brought some confusion in the girl, tilting her head as she waited for him to speak.

"Erylis."

Dis chapter was a lot shorter compared to some of the others, probably 500 words shorter- not including this.

I GOT IT THO!

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!

ALSO, there might be another chapter today… depends on how i'm feeling.

Texas weather is beating my ass right now…
