1. Siegfried I

On a hillside road near Tokyo, many lifeless bodies could be seen strewn about the road and the ground was colored crimson due to all the blood. It was a scene of Carnage.

Not too far away from all of this, a young woman could be seen holding a wounded man in her arms. Her face was stained with tears and her pure white dress was dyed crimson making it a heart-wrenching sight, but even all of this did not do to diminish the sacredness of the sight even a little bit.

Both of them looked like they came out of a fairy tale.

The man, other than his pale face due to excessive blood loss was perfect in every aspect. The woman looked like a fairy and her exquisite face which could cause the downfall of kingdoms was filled with sorrow.

{ Siegfried } 

" S-Sieg *hic* I'm sorry, it's *hic* a-all my fault " Siegfried looked at his supposed 'Mistress' who had been saying the same thing over and over while sobbing. He looked at her face which was covered with tears, normally it should have made her look less pretty but it only enhanced her charm as she seemed like a tragic beauty.

Siegfried didn't know why but he felt his heart constrict when he saw her crying. His body was littered with wounds and he had lost so much blood that one would question, how he was even alive at this point.

Siegfried didn't know how many times he had been shot as he felt his whole body hurt, it felt like he was being poked with hot rods all over his body and even that didn't hurt as much as it did when he saw her break down in grief.

He did not want to see her sad, he wanted her to be the annoying hot-tempered self she always was, acting all haughty and arrogant but deep inside, she was nothing more than just a kind little girl.

The perfect example of Cold on the outside but warm on the inside. He always felt this sense of protectiveness and care for her which he chalked off to being her caretaker but it seems it just not as simple as it seems.

Siegfried wouldn't consider himself a super dense person but he couldn't blame himself too, because never in a million years would he have thought that he would have feelings for this annoying brat who bosses him around every day.

Due to her keeping him by her side at all times, he was unable to go to his normal rendezvous, how rude of her to ruin his good deeds.

Despite finding her annoying, deep down he held feelings for her, and maybe he knew about them but refused to acknowledge them, as he considered himself filthy and her as pure, free from all the filth and impurity that was present in this corrupt world.

Despite being born into a wealthy family she didn't get infected with the filth or darkness of said rich family, and he considered her special for it and found solace in being near her. 

For him whose hands were drenched in blood from the time he could remember, he felt he was unworthy to hold these feelings for her thus he unknowingly shelved these feelings to the back of his mind. Hooking up with women to ease the emptiness inside of him just like in his mercenary days. 

But it was all for naught as his feelings just intensified the more he suppressed them

After coming to terms with his feelings it seemed as if a veil that had been covering his eyes had been lifted as he could clearly see Ruby's actions. He actually felt second-hand embarrassment at her clumsy efforts to seduce him.

It was obvious that she had a crush on him and he was glad that he didn't respond to it as he only viewed it as a teenage girl's infatuation and he hoped it would stay that way. But it seems things didn't turn out the way he hoped, Siegfried couldn't help but think as he gazed at Ruby who was crying while holding onto him.

He didn't like it and he hoped she would not shed these tears for a man like him, for him he wished to see her smile all the time and he hoped she would always remain happy and if the price of keeping her happy was his life then he was more than happy to pay it. 

Siegfried had already lost meaning in life and was just living for the sake of it, the presence of Ruby breathed life into him and he wished to stay beside her as he could feel a sense of purpose in protecting her. 

He wished there would never be a time when he would have to leave her side, but it seemed fate had other plans for him, Siegfried smiled a little and the smile was anything but happy as it was filled with many emotions but the most prominent one would be a relief. 

He could feel himself dying as he felt his body getting weaker and weaker, his vision was also blurring a little bit. 

He was staying awake due to sheer willpower as he didn't and couldn't leave his Young Miss devastated.

The Last thing he wanted was for her to revert back to her old self, he didn't want her to close her heart off to the world, he wanted her to live life to the fullest. 

 And he would make sure to do it. 

After all, he was a competent Butler.....
