Chapter 14: Liar

I felt like my lungs were gonna burst as I arrived at the park I told Mina to wait. I quickly scanned the area and found Mina sitting on one of the benches under the trees. She was sitting with her legs folded and embraced with her arms, and her face was buried in her knees. This looks really bad.

I stopped running and started to walk towards her. I was in a rush but she seems so shattered already that I didn't want to startle her.

I just sat by her side and spoke to her.

"Mina.. Are you okay?"

"I'm not", Mina answered without getting her face out of her knees.

"I'm sorry this happened"

"It's not your fault"

"You know… I will explain to you-"

"Liar"

"Juno didn't mean it that way. I will explain"

"YOU are a liar"

What?

"YOU told me he had to go somewhere urgently. I was gonna accept that, but I saw him"

What, again?

"You saw him?"

"I saw him come out of Karaoke with another boy and two girls"

Oh boy..

"Look-"

"Liar"

I really wanted to explain, but words just didn't come out of my mouth. It wasn't just because I didn't know what to say or found it hard to formulate my thoughts, but it just hurt being called a liar by her. I knew it was extremely selfish, but there I was feeling hurt myself when I should have been there comforting her and solving the misunderstanding.

"I have nothing to say to you"

Why could I only say something that I didn't mean…
