1 Are you happy, my love?

When Sirius was little he would watch his mum and dad fight a lot. They would scream and wail and throw and hit until they ran out of things to throw or words to scream. Later, in the night he would lay awake in his bed, close his eyes and imagine. He would imagine himself sitting on a park bench, holding hands with a somebody. His somebody would never have a face or a gender. But they'd laugh when he said something particularly funny or smile when he looked at them. Unlike his mum they'd never accuse and unlike his dad he'd never hit. He would keep his somebody safe and smiling and happy.

Sirius Black is not, by any means, an insecure person. No sir, no. He was fairly confident in his looks and personality that any bird or bloke would be happy with him as a partner. Which was why this was becoming a potentially problematic situation. 'This' being Sirius' bouts of insecurity that he was slowly starting to turn into his doomed father.

That was because his beau, owner of the shop 'Howling with the books', the world's most beautiful husband, his Moony a.k.a Remus Lupin seemed to have fallen deep into the depths of depression. He was very unsatisfied with his lover. Atleast that's what Sirius thought.

Though James said that he was being unrealistic. But who cared what James thought. This was the guy who whined like a kicked puppy for six fucking years just to get Evans to look at him without hexing his sorry arse into oblivion. His intuitions rarely ever hit the mark.

Sirius knew his husband though. He knew that his Moony would've atleast pretended to laugh at his Duck Joke. But instead he turned to his stupid crossword and curtly told Sirius to grow up. Like an insignificant puzzle in the Daily Prophet was more important than the love of his life.

But that was only one of the reasons for Sirius' disdain. Little things like not kissing him goodnight or not caring if Sirius flirted with other people added up to all of his mess. Once Remus even got mad at Sirius for defending his honour at the Hog's Head bar. Sirius knew that Remus was an independent person and could look after his own and all that crap, but he was his boyfriend for heaven's sake! If a random bloke popped out of nowhere and started hitting on his boyfriend while expecting Sirius to just watch was disgustingly stupid.

So that was why Sirius had come up with this mind blowing master plan. He had originally planned to keep even James out of it but he needed a pair of hands alongside his. And hiding something from his best mate of fifteen years was too treacherous for Sirius.
