Awakening

"You're not awakened yet, right? Then I'll help you with that." Susan's face changed as she then said," Fight me!"

" I just saw how you fight and you want me to fight something like that. Are you forgetting I'm just only turning 7?"

" There's no 6 year old as smart as you I know. That proves that you would stand a short chance." She then lowered a blade for Xavier on the floor next to his feet.

" Hey, you can't serious!"

The moment he finished his sentence she slashed for his head. 'Clang!' was the sound of blades clashing against another. He blocked it. As he looked up to see your face, she kicked him in his abdomen. The impact of the hit lowered his guard. At the moment he touched his abdomen, she launched an attack again while he was agonizing in pain.

Xavier ducked resulting in the slash slicing a few hair strands from his hair. And before she could draw back her sword; he hacked aiming for her head. 'Boom!' She quickly conducted a somewhat small but handful flame spell. It had sent Xavier flying through the field. Smoke from the explosion earlier had interrupted Xavier from pinpointing Susan's location.

Xavier felt a warm temperature from behind his back. He swept around hastily and blocked an incoming attack. It was Susan who had enchanted her sword with flames. Xavier still pushed back her attack even though the temperature was almost enough to burn his skin permanently.

Xavier felt a strong presence of wind rapidly approaching from his blind spot. Though it was risky, Xavier stopped pushing back against Susan and focused on what the presence was. It was Susan.

" What, you were right behind me." Xavier looked back in the direction he blocked Susan's attack and she wasn't there.

It was an illusory type spell. Xavier had no idea that such a spell existed until now.

He pretended not to notice and at the last minute she approached, he hacked his sword at her. Susan had turned into mist. Xavier looked around and to his surprise, he was surrounded from every corner by multiple versions of Susan.

They all launched their swords at Xavier. Xavier slid through one of their legs and tried running away. The moment he turned his head to run and tuck his tail. Susan appeared in front of him, she hastily slashed at him.

It was an unavoidable attack. But was that cause? Time had stopped for Xavier. He watched as her sword slowly approached him.

' Not yet! Not just yet!' He couldn't accept dying so soon.

'Damn it all!'

As time resumed, multiple ice glaciers shot out of the ground. Susan in an instant dashed away. She looked up, only to see Xavier performing an ice spell from the sky. She shouted," That's it, you've awakened! I guess there's no need for me to hold back then!" she then grinned.

Xavier then released the ice spell from the sky." Ice spears!" A great number of ice spears plummeted from the sky. Susan executed an earth shield and stopped Xavier's attack.

In these few moments, Xavier felt different. He erased everything from his mind to go all out. He felt emotionless, he didn't even think about anything. He knew to win he would have to be serious. He felt a great surge of power. It was almost like adrenaline rushing through veins. The moment he landed, he swiftly performed an ice glacier from the ground.

Susan jumped and in that instance, she infused her sword with flames and plunged her sword to the ground. The whole glacier was stopped with one attack. Xavier performed wind bullets. Susan dodged every one of them and in an instant, she closed in on him. She slashed her sword only for it to be blocked. They clashed swords and even though she was a better swordsman Xavier was able to keep up. Xavier shot out a small ice spike from the ground to close the distance.

The moment she launched up into the sky, Xavier made a wind current to push her up higher as he used an earth pillar like an elevator. He then jumped off and punch her to the ground not wanting to kill her. She then got up in a weird gesture," Fine, I'll stop joking around." As Susan with not a scratch said this, a strong presence of blood lust shot out into the air. Xavier's breath felt heavy. In less than a second, Susan punched him in the face. Something about her blows was different. It felt like boulders had crushed Xavier's whole body. She then performed a series of combos. She didn't use her sword because she would kill him in an instant.

Everything about her was different. Xavier was already stunned. He wanted to cry out loud but he couldn't so he quietly agonized in pain. Xavier had finally escaped from her a series of combos. He dashed back and conducted a spell, it was different from before. He mixed in every element he could to organize the spell. It looked different from any other spell because it was dark in color. The moment he fired the spell, he had lost consciousness from mana consumption and the effects of awakening.

Even though Susan had dodged the spell. The spell had exploded a wide area. It was like a small nuke.

Xavier opened his eyes. He saw Susan carrying him." What happened?" He looked at Susan. Most of her clothing was torn and blood dripped from her nose." Try to remember what happened after we left the cave."

Xavier thinking back had remembered the whole series of events," You're still not after me, are you?" he jumped on the ground, looking up at Susan with suspicion. She then looked at him with a poker face," Why would I? You're already awakened, so why should I attack you?"

' Awakened? Oh right, it happened during the fight.' Xavier then shot out a fire spell. Even though it was strong, it wasn't as strong as before.' Why was I able to manipulate Ice magic so well?'

"You're definitely Feran's kid. You're both talented at Ice manipulation."

Then for the first time without being in battle, she smiled," Let's take you home."
