Part 20 - Here We Are

Jinx keeps those flares high up. It lights up that entire area of the Undercity. She keeps her head lowered, and her eyes closed the entire time she lets the flares off, with a seemingly desperate expression.

Not too long after, the flares finally stop emitting the blue and orange light. Jinx opens her eyes, and stares at them as her eyes begin to widen. Immediately after, she grows angered. She grabs the two flares tightly, before throwing them over the cliff with an angered grunt.

After throwing the flares, she shakes her head swiftly. She then pulls the gemstone out from her pocket, and stares down at it with a similar expression of anger. "Powder..?" Vi suddenly approaches Jinx from behind, at the top of the stairs.

Once Jinx hears that voice, her angered expression quickly evaporates. She slowly turns her head to see over her shoulder, and she notices Vi and Lucy standing directly next to eachother, despite the fog. She frowns confused once her eyes lock on to Lucy. "Jinx.." Lucy says with a relieved smile. Jinx then fully turns around to look at those two.

Vi quickly runs towards Jinx with a relieved smile, and tears in her eyes. She quickly, and warmly embraces Jinx, while Jinx stares upward with a face of shock. "I'm so sorry I left Powder. I was taken by an enforcer and I had no way of getting back to you. They threw me in this awful prison and after awhile I thought you were dead." Vi let's go of Powder, and Powder slowly starts to let out tears of sadness and pain. With those tears and pain that she's letting out, she also let's go of the gemstone. Caitlyns eyes immediately make their way to the following gemstone. She recognizes it instantly thanks to Silver explanation earlier today.

Caitlyn then looks back up at Jinx. "Powder.." Caitlyn says to herself, while instantly realizing this is the blue haired girl that everyone has mentioned.

"Are you real?" Powder questions in a vulnerable way. Thanks to her always seeing and hearing voices of her past, she questions if her sister Vi is really in front of her.

Vi moves her hand towards herself, while continuing to look at the crying Powder. "Yes I'm real. It's your sister Vi. I'm very real. God I never thought I'd see you again." Vi says while looking at her. Powder smiles for a split second, before she looks more guilty and saddened.

Vi holds onto Powders face with one hand, while holding her hand with another. "So much changed when you left..I changed."  Powder confesses with relentless tears coming down her face. While making such a confession, it's clear that Powder can't even keep eye contact with Vi. With her eyes wondering off to the side. Vi immediately hugs her again, despite the horrible things that she's been told about Jinx.

"It's okay..you did what you had to. Just like me. I'm just glad you're okay." Vi says to Powder, while Powder continues to cry into Vis shoulder. Lucy watches at the top of the stairs with a happy face. So much so that she finds it hard to keep the tears in her eyes.

Suddenly, Caitlyn walks up directly next to Lucy. Jinx quickly notices. Her eyes begin to frown once more, as she envisions the two staring at her with taunting smiles, and horns that represent some devil.

Once their eyes lock, Jinx instantly gets off of Vi, and pulls out her minigun from behind. "Sevika wasn't lying to me? You're with an enforcer? Not only that but with this girl who abandoned me too?" Jinx questions Vi with her eyes wondering around, and her voice going less soft than it just was. Everyone begins to grow more uneasy.

Jinx slowly starts to frown more while staring at Lucy. "You left, just like Silver did. And-" With a shaky, and cracky voice, Jinx accuses Lucy of abandoning her. "And now you're both with an enforcer."

"I never did. I don't know what you've been told but I'm always gonna be here for you." Lucy confesses as she walks a bit closer to Jinx with worried eyes. "Silver told me you had a recording..I don't know who recorded it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Silco. But even though Silver said I should leave, I told him that I wouldn't. Did you hear that part?" Lucy questions while looking at Jinx with sympathetic eyes.

Jinx immediately starts hearing the voices of the recording. Silvers voice telling Lucy over and over that she's dangerous, begins to rattle around Jinxs head. Because of this, she clenches her eyes and teeth, with the others watching her with worried expressions. "Shut up, I'm not in the mood!" Jinx yells out, before pointing her minigun at both Caitlyn and Lucy with aggression in her face.

"We didn't say anything." Caitlyn acknowledges with confusion, making Jinx more angered and frustrated.

She stares back at Caitlyn with an annoyed expression, and her mini gun pointed directly towards her. "I wasn't talking to you." Jinx confirms in a snarky way.

Vi walks towards Jinx, and points the tip of the mini gun away. "I don't know what you've heard, but we've tried to find you. I've tried to get back to you and make things better." Vi says to Jinx, while she continues hearing the voices in her head, despite her attempts to stop them.

Jinx shakes her head and clenches her teeth slightly. "Then why didn't Lucy take you to my hideout?! She knows exactly where it is! If she were really trying to look for me, she would've told you that!" Jinx accuses, as Vi slowly turns around to look at Lucy, wondering why Lucy didn't tell them about Jinxs hideout.

"There are always Silcos guards around your hideout!" Lucy says to Jinx, as she approaches her with care in her eyes. "I didn't want to risk it, but after what happened earlier, it didn't matter. I was going to tell them about it, but then Vi saw the blue light." Lucy explains to Jinx, as she slowly begins to lower the minigun that she has in her hands. "I've been wanting to talk to you-" Lucy says, but suddenly, jinx moves up her mini gun again, while staring upwards towards the sky as if she was focusing hard.

"Did you hear that?" Jinx says to the others, while they all look towards her in confusion. With Jinx wondering her eyes around, Ekko, Mylo, and a few other firelights members fly through these large tubes using their hoverboards.

At the end of the tube, there's the platform that Jinx and the others are standing on top of. Making sure they're wearing their masks, they quickly zoom through the tubes. Jinx immediately turns around and looks upwards at the firelights with anger in her eyes. She quickly starts fireing her gun at the firelights. "It was a trap!" Mylo informs the other firelights, as they fly around the platform in an attempt to dodge all the bullets that Jinx is sending their way.

"Lucy stay back!" Vi suggests as she quickly puts her guard up. She manages to punch a few firelights in the head when they get close enough to her. All while Jinx continues shooting the gun while laughing slightly, and smiling widely.

Lucy watches Vi and Jinx fight off the enforcers. She quickly tries to run away, but Mylo flies infront of her, and knocks her out. Caitlyn quickly goes for the gemstone that Jinx dropped. She manages to get it, but just after she does, she's kicked in the face by a firelight member. It knocks her out instantly.

"Caitlyn!" Vi calls out to Caitlyn in a worried way, as she tries to get to Caitlyn. Though she's quickly cut off by a firefight members. Jinx witnesses with deep and annoyed stare. The firelight members quickly grabs the gemstone, before waving at the other firelight members.

At the bottom of the stairs, and not so far away from Jinx and the others, Marcus and the other enforcers hear all the gunshots from Jinxs minigun.

Marcus and the enforcers quickly avert their attention to the very top of that cliff. "Move in!" Marcus orders, as him and the other enforcers run towards the platform, and towards the bottom of the stairs.

"What do you want?!" Vi questions while fighting off Ekko without even realizing it. After that question, the two proceed to struggle to get the upper hand with a steel pipe.

The two stare at eachother. After staring for a few seconds, Vi starts to frown slightly as if she recognizes something behind that mask. Though she's interrupted by Jinxs laughing.

Vi turns her head to look towards Jinx. That's when she notices Jinxs psycho laughs and smiles, despite all of the destruction, and chaos that's happening around them. Because of this, her worried expressions begin to grow.

"There goes Caitlyn!" The group of enforcers finally make their way to the top of the stairs. Vi instantly notices an unconscious Caitlyn, and when she does, she looks very concerned. "Retrieve her!" Marcus orders.

With that order, one of the enforcers jump into the battlefield, and pick up an unconscious Caitlyn. "I got her!" One of the enforcers inform. They instantly run back down the stairs with Caitlyn in their procession.

Vi watches them take away Caitlyn with stressful eyes. Jinx quickly picks up on that fact, making her more angered than she already is. Despite the stressful feelings, Vi makes a decision without having to put much of any thought into it.

Vi quickly shoves off the Firelight member, in an attempt to get to Jinx. "Powder-" She calls out as she approaches Jinx with concern. But before she could get to her, she's knocked out by a Firelight member.

Jinx quickly dodges a firefight members on a hover board, before attaching one of her bombs to the persons back. Once she does, the firelight members slices her leg with a weapon, making Jinx grunt in pain. But that doesn't stop Jinxs bomb from exploding. It explodes, and knocks the firelight members off the cliff.

One of the firelight members stare down at the unconscious Vi and Lucy. Both of them attempt to stab the two while they're unconscious, but Ekko stops them. "Wait," He stops them by placing a hand on both of their shoulders. They look towards him as a result. "Take them." Ekko informs.

Mylo looks towards Ekko with confusion. "Are you sure? They're with her." Mylo says with obvious disagreement of Ekkos decision.

"We don't know that yet." Ekko says to Mylo, before they look towards Jinx who's out of breath. "Retreat!" Ekko calls out, and the other firelight members quickly use their hoverboards to fly back into the tube. Jinx is quickly angered by that action, since she has no more ammo in her weapons.

With that encounter going down, they don't realize a man walking up the stairs to get to them. Someone dressed in all black, with combat boots, a black hooded poncho, and black pants.

Jinx eyes quickly look down towards Vi and Lucy. With that look, there's clear conflicted feelings behind them. While still out of breath, she looks back up at Ekko and Mylo, before charging at them loudly.

Before she could even come close to attacking them, a hard fist makes contact with her face. It immediately knocks her over, and makes her roll down onto the stone platform. "There's one of your people injured at the bottom of this cliff. Leave Lucy, and take them." A familiar voice says. Once Jinx hears that voice, her eyes widen, and she looks up to see who it is.

Unfortunately, thanks to the hood of the black poncho, she can't quite make out who it is under there. "I'll explain it all later, but you need to trust me. Leave me with Jinx..I'm going to stop this." Silver says, while staring at Ekko and Mylo. The two stare at Silver, while obviously trying to see in his eyes if he's being deceitful or honest.

After staring into Silvers eyes, Ekko provides him with another flare. "Don't make this the wrong choice." Ekko advises Silver. With that interaction going down, Jinx continues staring at Silver with wide eyes. It's as if she's frozen at the sight of him, with voices and images in her head. Wondering who's behind it.

"It won't be, trust me." Silver promises Ekko, before Ekko and Mylo storm off on their hoverboards while holding Vi. They quickly pick up their heavily injured firelight member, and go off with them in arms.

While they fly towards the tubes, Vi begins to regain her consciousness. She opens her eyes, and despite her blurry eyesight, she tries to make out who that black figure is that's standing in front of Jinx, and besides an unconscious Lucy. "Powder! Lucy!" Vi tries to call out to her sisters, because of how heavily concerned she is. Unfortunately for her, she's not able to get much out considering how hurt she is. She quickly passes right back out.

Jinx, who's finally stands up, watches them take Vi away. Witnessing this, she begins to wrap her arms around herself with a saddened expression and body language. "Vi.." She whimpers. Suddenly, her eyes widen with a crazy expression, and she instantly turns around and stares ahead at Silver, who's looking down at Lucy. "Who are you?" Jinx questions, as Silver notices his red bandanna sticking out of Lucys pocket. "Answer me!" Jinx demands in a loud, aggressive tone, causing an echo.

Silver grabs the bandanna from Lucys pocket. Once he does, he removes his hoodie, and begins wrapping it around his forehead. The moment he does, is the exact moment Jinx witnesses who's behind the hood.
