6 CH 5: Breaking in

(A/N: Alright, that's enough filler and introductions. Let's get to the real plot.)

- (Timeskip: a few months)

"Ngh!" Groaning, Vi climbed up the wall of a tall building in Piltover. Grabbing onto somewhere and staying in place, she looked down at Powder, Mylo and Claggor who were climbing after her :"We're almost there!"

"Aw, man." Mylo sighed as he continued climbing with the others. Surprisingly, Powder was even higher than him. Guess she was a pretty good climber. Or at least better than him, who always liked to complain. As for Slathilia, he was already up on the rooftop waiting for them. Much to Vi's annoyance, since he was sitting on the edge and smiling smugly at her.

To make matters worse, he was even nonchalantly eating an apple, making her groan and roll her eyes. Seeing the wordless interaction between the two, Powder couldn't help but giggle at them.

After getting to the rooftop, Thilia just had to tease :"Finally!" He said dramatically, rolling his eyes which were filled with mischief. Vi, who was catching her breath, rolled her eyes as well. Just in annoyance instead :"Fuck off. Hey, Powder! Come take a look."

"Whoa." The blue-haired girl awed at the views. Clean air, beautiful buildings, and no crime just randomly happening to ruin the beautiful view. "It's nice getting above it all, huh?" Vi said as Mylo and Claggor also joined them just before an airship passed above them.

Powder :"One day, I'm gonna ride in one of those things."

Mylo, pointing finger guns at it :"And one day, I'm gonna shoot one of em down."

Slathilia, :"*Snort* With your shit aim? Dream on, eyebrows."

As they continued on the rooftops, Claggor asked :"Vi, are you sure about this? Look, if we get caught, we're-"

Vi, interrupting him :"We're not gonna get caught. We'll be in and out before anyone notices."

Reaching a place where they had to jump to another rooftop, which was just a bit too far away for jumping, Vi instructed :"Alright, everybody, follow me. Just don't look down." Sliding down the curved wall, she jumped onto a small balcony before leaning against the railings. Thilia couldn't help but glance at the delicious looking cupcakes there though. Readying herself, Vi jumped onto the rooftop without problem and looked back at them.

Cracking his fingers, Mylo pushed Claggor back and went first. Following Vi's footsteps, he didn't have a problem crossing over either. Neither did Claggor, who even picked up a cupcake and ate it.

Claggor :"Couldn't we have at least just walked there?"

Vi :"Gotta stay out of sight for this one."

Looking back up, she saw Powder doing exactly what she told them not to do, look down. And Mylo obviously took the chance to complain once again :"Called it. This is on you, Vi."

Slathilia, who had stayed back to go after Powder, gently put his hand on her shoulder with a small smile :"Want me to help? I can help you with my chains or tendrils. Or I can just throw you there if you'd want."

After finally getting a hang of his powers that surfaced, he didn't really hide them much. Sure, he didn't show his entire capabilities, but he still didn't hide some things. Like his ability to extend his chains, create tendrils of various sizes and lengths, or envelope his fingers and hands to turn them into black and red claws.

He didn't really have any reason to hide them, since he was definitely going to use them a lot in the future. Also, a few of them were going to die anyway, so why bother keeping secrets? So in the end, other than Mylo who was an asshole and called him a freak, others didn't have any problem and just called him weird or unique.

Vi :"No! Powder, look at me. What did I tell you?"

Powder :"That... Phew, I'm ready."

Vi :"That's right! So?"

After nodding gratefully at Thilia, she let out a breath to calm down before following what they had down. Just that she was a little more clumsy, and after not jumping far enough to get a good footing on the rooftop, she nearly fell down. Fortunately for her, Slathilia's chain came behind her and supported her, preventing her from falling down.

Looking back to see a chain reaching her before spreading into multiple chains and holding her up, she looked up and smiled at the owner of the bio-chain :"Thanks!" Earning a smile from the black-haired boy. Vi nodded gratefully at him as well.

As she helped her little sister, the chains pulled back before turning into one again and going back to Slathilia. Not before picking up the tray of cupcakes though. They looked too delicious to pass out on.

Just as he ate one and prepared to get going, he saw something heading towards him. A bird. It wasn't heading towards him, but it seemed to be passing through his way. But that didn't matter to him. What mattered to him was the flying food he saw. He had a really big appetite for meat after being reincarnated.

"Oh, no." Vi sighed, rubbing her temples when she saw his hungry look. Taking a few steps back, a devilish smile formed on his lips as he licked his teeth. When the timing was right, he sprinted forward and jumped. All the poor bird saw was teeth turning into sharp blade-like fangs before biting it whole as Slathilia even flipped in the air, with the tray of cupcakes still in his hands, and landed on the building without a problem.

Chewing on the bird, he smiled teasingly at the others who nearly gagged. "C'mon, let's go." He smirked after spitting out the useless feathers that were caught between his teeth. Holding up the tray, he offered one to Powder and Vi who took one with smiles.

But when Mylo and Claggor reached out to grab one, he pulled it away and glared :"You already ate one, Claggor. And you go get your own, eyebrow monkey." Causing Mylo to glare back :"Screw you, freak! I don't even want one anyway."

"Good, cause I wasn't giving you one or planning to give you one anyway." Slathilia scoffed as they continued on their way. After finding a spot where they could use to walk on the side of a building, Thilia tied his chains around their waists to be careful as they continued.

Claggor :"What if Vander finds out we're all the way up here?"

Vi :"Look around you. You think anyone Topside's going hungry? Besides, this is exactly the sort of job Vander would've pulled when he was our age. I'm going. Are you with me or not?"

Claggor looked back at the others, just to see them shrug, causing him to sigh :"Vander's gonna kill us."

Vi :"Yeah, only if we screw up. So don't screw up."

Slathilia :"Won't promise anything."

As she jumped down onto the balcony, she checked the place through the windows to see if it was empty or not. After seeing that no one was inside, she gave the sign :"All clear."

Mylo was the first one to go down and to the balcony door, but just to find it locked :"Ugh, who locks their balcony?" And received a sarcastic answer from Slathilia who also came down :"Anybody who appreciates safety and security, you dumbass."

As the older boy rolled his eyes and took out his special key to try and unlock the door, Thilia helped Powder come down with his and Claggor's help.

Claggor :"Whew, there's tons of enforces down there."

Vi :"Means we're in the right place."

As he was looking down, he felt a gentle jab on his side. Looking back, he saw a smirking Slathilia lean towards him and whisper :"10 coins on Vi kicking the door open instead." Causing him to snicker :"Deal."

Vi :"You gonna get that door open anytime soon?"

Mylo :"Working on it. Seeing as I'm the only one who knows how to pick locks, I suggest-"

But he was interrupted by Vi kicking the door open with a grunt. Shoving the broken door open, she walked in as Thilia smirked at Claggor, causing him to groan :"Fine..." Guess he was in debt now.

As they all walked in, with Claggor hitting the back of Mylo's head, the shocked boy whispered with a frown :"Animals." Before walking in as well. Inside, they saw books and weird objects, along with a blackboard filled with writings.

Mylo :"You know, Claggor, for once you're right. We are definitely not supposed to be here."

Immediately, they all began to search for valuable stuff. And once they found any, they threw it inside of the bag Vi had brought with her. Seeing Slathilia looking at the blackboard with a book in hand, Vi came to his side :"Must be an inventor."

Slathilia :"Probably. Would explain all the books."

"Huh." Powder let out before picking up a spherical object :"Whoa, I think this is a real Valdiani." And once she pushed a button for it to open, a ball came out with two other balls orbiting around it.

"Oh yeah? What about this?!" Mylo raised an object with pincers and a button which activated the pincers, thinking that it must be something awesome. But Powder shot down that idea :"That's a nose hair trimmer."

Vi :"Keep an eye out for anything that looks valuable, Powder. Before Mylo fills the bag with junk."

As Slathilia put some items in the bag with his chains, that could be separated into as many as he wanted, he senses something... special in the room. Something that raised a sort of craving in his heart. Like hunger, but more complex.

"Uh... guys?" Mylo called out, gaining their attention as he put away some papers to reveal a triangle shaped weird object with a fancy looking blue crystal on top. To them, it just seemed something weird. But to Thilia, the moment his eyes landed on the crystal, so much knowledge and complex comprehensions appeared in his mind.

Even with his mind that could tolerate the knowledge of everything that he had seen until now, he still immediately felt dizzy from the sheer amount of knowledge. With a sharp headache that hit him, he hissed in pain, staggered and nearly fell if not for Vi who helped him with a confused face :"Thilia, you okay? What happened?"

Slathilia was honestly thankful that instead of taking everything directly into his mind, he had altered his ability to put all the knowledge into something of a mental library before setting off here. He knew he would get a lot from the crystals, so he had made sure to be prepared.

But even with that, he still got one hell of a headache. And that was from not even looking into the knowledge. If he had done that, he was sure that he would have probably passed out immediately. Thanks to his Regenerative Healing Factor though, that headache quickly passed.

Rubbing his forehead to relieve the dull remains of the pain, he nodded at the older girl :"Yeah. Yeah, I'm good. Just got a weird headache out of nowhere. I'm fine now though."

Vi :"You sure?"

Slathilia :"Yeah, I'm alright."

Vi :"Alright, good. Be careful though."

Claggor :"Wait, Vi, how the hell did we find this place?"

Vi :"It was a tip from Little Man."

Mylo :"Little Man?"

Vi :"Just leave it. Come on."

Claggor :"How can anyone have so much stuff?"

Mylo :"Simple, just get born lucky."

Slathilia :'I wouldn't say so. Jayce was literally just teleported from a whole nother country, or maybe even another continent, without anything on him. He and his mother raised to where they are now by themselves, for as much as I know.'

Shaking his head to finally get rid of the pain, Thilia breathed out in satisfaction before sensing more of those crystals. Humming thoughtfully, he decided to go and find them. Seeing him go to another room, Powder followed behind him curiously.
