6 Goodbye

Wen Shan (smiling) "I have had my fair share of battles, but that is not important now. What's important is your future."

Yuan acted as an eager child and spoke

Yuan "Uncle, when can I become an arcanist?"

Wen Shan " What kind of arcanist would you like to be?"

Yuan was taken aback by the question.

Yuan "I don't know, uncle. What are my options? I want to never die and be powerful."

Wen Shan spoke, "There are many paths to becoming powerful; some seek it through immortal bloodline, some through legacy, and some through mysterious arts. But every path depends on what kind of essence you are cultivating and what you want to achieve, and how you want to achieve it."

Yuan "I want to be strong and powerful, like you, uncle."

Wen Shan " Then the path of battle might be the one for you. But remember, it is a long and difficult path that requires dedication and hard work. You are smarter than I was. I would suggest using the path of knowledge and arcane arts."

Yuan "I am willing to do whatever it takes, uncle. I want to become powerful and make you proud."

Wen Shan" I have no doubt that you will; with your determination and the legacy of your ancestors, I am sure you will become one."

Wen Shan continued guiding him about how to behave in the future, placing his hand on Yuan's shoulder as he encouraged him to treasure his newfound abilities. He spent what felt like an entire hour with Yuan, reminding him what to do and how to be careful when he was out in the world, and how to avoid standing out.

Yuan found his uncle a bit different today. His uncle was not this talkative in the past, but his uncle was talking a lot today. Yuan used his truth-seeker ability to try to see through what was going on with his uncle. When Yuan used this ability, there was a golden Hue in his eyes. He couldn't see anything, but his truth-seeker ability gave some signal that said his uncle would be leaving and going far away from him.

Yuan, in this life, only knew his uncle as his family. He wondered why his uncle would plan to leave.

He blurted out, " Uncle are you planning to leave me?"

Wen Shan had already noticed the golden hue in Yuan's eyes. He thought something and then spoke, " Wait here."

After saying that, Wen Shan left. Yuan noticed that Wen Shan had entered the attic.

After some time, Yuan saw Wen Shan coming back. There was another crystal in his hands. It was not a crystal ball but a crystal bottle.

Wen Shan spoke, " This is a gift from your mother for you. It will help you hide your seeker ability. Drip the liquid in your eyes. It has only two drops, so carefully drip it."

Yuan nodded and took the bottle from his uncle and opened it, and dripped the liquid in the bottle into his eyes one by one.

Yuan felt a very cool sensation in his eyes. The liquid did not seem to be just refreshing his eyes, but it entered his mind and created a veil around his golden consciousness space.

Yuan could still use his ability, but he felt the veil would keep his power hidden even when he used it. Yuan used his ability again, but this time there was no golden hue in his eyes. His eyes color had turned dark.

Wen Shan nodded and spoke, " With this veil of elemental water, you can use your abilities without being noticed."

Yuan bowed to thank his uncle. But his uncle shook his head " This is a gift from your mother. I was just holding it for you. Sadly I don't have any gifts as such for you besides my years of experience as a warrior, that I can tell you."

Yuan Repeated his Question, " Uncle, Are you planning to leave me?"

Wen Shan thought after he gave Yuan the water, Yuan might forget about the question but Yuan still asked him the question he was dreading.

Wen Shan thought for a while and spoke. "Yuan, do you want to see your grandfather?" he asked.

Yuan furrowed his brows, thinking hard for an answer that wouldn't come. Before he could respond, Wen Shan interrupted him. "You'll be able to see him very soon. He will be sending some people to pick you up; they are most probably on their way now. you better remember to be on your best behavior, alright?"

"Huh?" Yuan was taken aback by the sudden news. He didn't have time to formulate a proper response. "What about you? Won't you be coming as well?" he asked.

"No, Uncle is not going," Wen Shan replied.

"Then I won't go either!" Yuan declared with resolution. It was not just an emotional decision but a calculated one his uncle was a warrior in the past. His uncle also deeply cared about him. Why should he leave his uncle's side to go to the unknown family he did not know much about? Maybe when he was grown up he could try to meet them but Yuan felt it was not a good idea at present.

Wen Shan smiled in response. "No, you have to go. Uncle has a wish you need to help fulfill."

"Don't worry about that, Uncle! I'm already all grown up; tell me what you want, and I'll get it done by hook or by crook!" Yuan exclaimed with confidence.

Wen Shan's warm tone completely contrasted with the intense gaze he leveled on his nephew. "Sometimes families can be difficult, but remember, you have to live a good and happy life for your mother and for me. I know you think you have a good life here but this is not the life you deserve especially with your bloodline and abilities. You deserve better, and this world deserves better you"

Wen Shan took out a red medallion and gave it to Yuan, and spoke " This is your identity token When your grandfather's men come. Make sure to show it to them."

Yuan nodded his head, He understood what his uncle was trying to tell him.

Mornings in Jingshui were usually calm and quiet, but a low rumble shattered the serenity of the village. The vibrations grew in intensity, eventually shaking even the slowest of the village elders out of their slumber. The villagers peeked out of their houses, looking towards the end of the road, feeling a sense of unease.

The mountain winds were chilly, causing even the bravest of warriors to shiver and tremble. However, the chill they felt that day was different - it was a foreboding feeling that something bad was about to happen.

The villagers all gathered at the village entrance as the tremors continued, shaking some villagers to their core. They could see smoke rising in the distance and the trees swaying in a menacing manner. Birds fled their nests, flying straight for the mountains as if they knew the danger that lay ahead.

A warrior suddenly rushed out of the forest on a powerful stallion. After that warrior, more warriors on stallions entered in villager's sight.

The warrior came close to them.

His armor clanked as he dismounted. He stood tall and imposing, with broad shoulders and a muscular build that spoke of years of training and battle experience. His skin was the color of burnt sienna, and his hair was a deep shade of red that seemed to flicker like flames in the light.

His armor was made of a special metal that glimmered like red gold but was stronger than steel, with intricate designs etched into it. The chest plate was emblazoned with the image of a fire burning; its flames spread wide as if ready to burn everything. The gauntlets and greaves were adorned with red gems that glowed with an inner fire, and his helmet had a visor that covered his face, leaving only his eyes visible.

The Warrior carried a long, curved sword at his side, its blade shimmering with a reddish-orange glow that seemed to match the color of his hair. He wore a crimson cape that billowed behind him in the wind, adding to his already imposing presence.

This warrior was no simple warrior, He was immortal, with fiery red hair that blazed in the sun and piercing eyes that seemed to see straight through to the villagers' souls. His armor was made of a strange metal that shone like the sun, and it seemed to be imbued with magical power that glowed with a fiery aura.

The villagers trembled at the sight of this fearsome warrior and his army. They had never seen anything like it before. The warrior brought his horse to a stop, and it pawed at the ground with powerful hooves, leaving deep marks in the dirt.

The warrior surveyed the villagers with an emotionless expression, and his voice was cold as he asked, "Do any of you know where the child of Liu family stays?"
