1 1. Fate Sovereign System Acquired

"My will won't ever fade!" Noah raged, his voice traveled throughout the entirety of the universe as he summoned his spear.

"Noah, aim for the core!" Amanda yelled, "Aim for his solar plexus!"

Noah nodded and eyed the entity in front of him. The [9th Demon King] Ravana. He was as big as several thousand galaxies combined.

How can a mortal even hope to defeat something so god-like?

That would be any sane person's thought.

However, Noah knew William, Amanda, and Arthur weren't here to help him. He has to stop this calamity alone.

"Brahmastra!" He roared and the spear in his hand was instantly engulfed in bright scarlet flames. "Bloom into the battlefield!"

He pulled back his spear arm before throwing it at the majestic entity that was approaching them.

As soon as the spear hit the giant's abdomen, a large explosion occurred, covering and illuminating the center of the universe.

Noah blinked out of existence and teleported a few light-years away from the center of the explosion with his comrades.

"Did we win?" The green-haired girl asked.

"Why?! Why do you always have to raise red flags, Skye?!" Amanda snapped in response.

Before Skye could reply and initiate an argument, Noah sensed something breaching the barrier he had put on around them.

"Shut it!" He shouted. "The [Demon Emperor] is here!"

Hearing that, Amanda, Skye, and all the other soldiers raised their guards again.

The joy they had on their face after witnessing that astonishing victory a few moments earlier faded and was replaced by a grimace.

The area in front of Noah distorted and a black tear was created into the fabric of space.

"Come," Noah summoned his spear and awaited the arrival of one of their greatest enemies.

"A few years back I thought Arthur, Amanda, and William would be the only pests I had to deal with from the Human's side!"

A voice came from the other side of the tear. Soon a man stepped out of the portal.

He wasn't a human. If anything, he looked more like an angel.

If it weren't for those horns on his forehead, no one would think of him as the [Demon Emperor].

Just by one mere glance of his, all the soldiers, higher and lower ranks alike, froze in their places.

Amanda and Skye were also subjected to a similar fate. The only exception was Noah. Only he was able to move in the Emperor's presence.

"Dragon's fear…" Noah murmured, recognizing the skill that his opponent was using.

"Tell me, Noah Stark or should I say Sovereign of Fate, how did you become this strong?"

"Why was a creature like you born as my brother? Why are you even alive?"

"Br-Brother, p-please!"

-Thwack!

Before I could continue my pleading, a kick landed at the side of my ribs making me buckle down and collapse on the ground.

I started coughing violently before another kick landed on the side of my face.

I placed a hand on my mouth and forcefully stopped myself from coughing up again.

I looked up with fear clearly visible in my eyes to see a boy standing in front of me.

The boy had silver-colored hair which was lighter yet richer in color than mine. He also had a pair of deep merlot eyes.

All of that along with his chiseled face and lean built body gave him a near-perfect look.

That was my brother. He was also the son of the 2nd strongest human alive.

Adel Stark.

The son of Arthur Stark.

"Brother, please! I didn't mean it like that! I swear I was just helping her! Anna, tell him please!"

I looked past the side of my brother and faced a certain pink-haired girl.

The same pink-haired girl was also the reason for this beating that I was receiving from my brother.

Along with her waist-long cherry pink hair, she also had a pair of deep violet-colored eyes.

Her thin lips, triangular nose, and small face not only complemented her blushing cheeks but also made her stand up to the definition of the word "lovely".

"Noah, I'm sorry," Anna spoke with her gaze averted.

I couldn't believe it! She went back on her words!

"I can't lie to save you."

I was left speechless!

No matter what I say or do now, I was sure Adel would at least break a few of my bones by the end of the confrontation.

Thus I played it smart and remained silent.

If I won't say anything, then it couldn't get any worse, right?

Right…?

Right?!

"You bastard! Why the fuck are you not saying anything? Are you trying to anger me more?!"

Never mind, it got worse.

"Brother, plea-"

-Slap!

An open hand landed on the side of my face before I could even start defending myself.

I felt the taste of iron in my mouth and soon after I could feel a broken tooth too.

"Don't call me brother. You're not my brother, I only have one sibling and that's not you!"

Said Adel in a disgusted tone while looking down at my pitiful figure kneeling down at his feet.

"You maneless creature," As he said that a spike made of ice manifested above him out of thin air.

With clear terror in my voice, I started begging again. "Brother! No! Please, I beg you!"

My words however fell into a void as the spike that was manifested above him whipped through the air and pierced my left foot in the next moment.

"Agrhhhh!"

An ear-piercing scream echoed throughout the whole washroom and a satisfactory sadistic smile appeared on my brother's face.

"Come on Anna, let's go," Adel announced before he walked out through the exit like what he had just done was something normal.

The pink-haired girl followed him behind but not before giving me one last pity glance.

"I'm sorry," she murmured before exiting through the washroom door herself.

As I saw her fading back my vision started blurring.

"Huh?" I expressed my confusion. "No, don't tell me!"

Frightened, I hastily looked down at my leg where I was pierced by the ice spike but I found nothing except the pool of blood.

Blood was being gushed out of my wound.

'He melted it!' I thought, 'He melted the dagger into water!'

My brother was trying to bleed me to death.

My hand instantly went to my back pocket. Taking out a handkerchief I tried to sit back up.

However, before I could make any attempt to stop the bleeding, my vision started darkening.

'No…' Within seconds of losing my vision, the loss of my motor control followed.

My body felt limp and the last thing I felt was the cold hard bare ground against my face as I heard a soft yet irritating laugh in the background.

"Hahaha! Aha hahaha!"

***

When I opened my eyes again, it was a few hours well past the sunset.

I looked over to my injured leg and found that the wound that was there was now closed up.

When I was confronted by my brother, I took the liberty of taking some automatic healing pills.

I knew a 'talk' with him wouldn't go well.

Automatic healing pills can heal small wounds but would only work after the user falls unconscious.

Looking at that, I heaved a sigh of relief. At least I didn't die of blood loss, I thought.

-Drip

A single tear flowed down my eyes. It was followed after another, then one more, then another.

Soon after, the tears were streaming down my eyes like a pair of rivers.

"Why…?" I mumbled, "Why am I so weak?!"

I screamed in frustration.

It's clearly because I was weak and I got bullied day after day.

It's clearly because I was weak that my family had abandoned any hopes from me.

I wasn't angry. No, rather I was frustrated. Frustrated at myself.

Using the edge of the sink beside me for support, I got myself up from the ground.

With slow shaky steps, I walked out of the washroom and headed toward the school's terrace.

It was night already so the school was empty. My footsteps echoed in those silent hallways as I kept walking.

After ascending 4 floors worth of spiral stairs, I reached up to the terrace door and slammed it open.

-Slam!

"Sniff… Fine, I'll just end it all today." I spoke in a whimpering voice and walked up to the edge of the roof.

Grabbing the fences, I got myself up over the railing.

Standing at the edge of the boundary, I looked down at the ground for a moment before looking up.

"Ha…" Looking up to the starry sky for what I thought would be the one last time, I took a deep breath.

My life has been awful. In this mystic world of skills and magic, I was born without a speck of mana to be able to use either.

In a world where strength rules supreme, I was born at the bottom of the barrel.

With a bittersweet smile on my face, I loosened my grip on the fence.

"Just one more step," I uttered.

"Just one more step and all my suffering would end. Just one more step and I'll be able to leave all this pain behind!"

I thought about that and tried to take that ending step.

However, my legs started shaking just at the thought of falling from that height.

No matter how much I tried I couldn't seem to take that one last step.

"Just do it goddamnit! What do you have to live for anyway?! Just take this step and end it!!"

Screaming, I tried forcing myself to take the final step, however, my body just refused to listen.

After trying for a full 5 minutes to jump off the edge, I gave up and stepped down from the railing.

-Thud

With a low thud sound, my body fell to the ground back first as all my strength escaped my knees.

"You coward… " I sobbed in a soft whispering voice while laying down on the ground. "You can't even end it all."

Just as I was wailing in self misery, an unusual mechanical sound rang in my ears, shaking me back to reality.

-Ding!
