1 Chapter 1 - The Nexus

In the heart of Piltover, where innovation and progress danced hand in hand, the young Willow Bolbok found herself walking down a dark hallway alone—the maids who would usually care for her no longer by her side.

From the moment she was born, Willow's life was steeped in privilege, and the weight of her family's legacy was burnt into her mind. She had always been told how she should act, and her education was catered to her, especially by her caretakers.

From the moment she was born as a member of the esteemed Bolbok Council Family— she was destined for greatness but also destined to be closely monitored.

However something unexpected happened on the day before her thirteenth birthday— a feeling deep within her very mind and soul called to her.

Like a siren's lullaby, she felt compelled to heed the call— exiting her room and walking down the empty hallway of her family's estate. Her vibrant golden eyes peered directly ahead of her as she walked.

Each step seemed to last for minutes as she slowly approached what called out to her— and soon enough, she saw it.

The walls of the hallway were no longer; instead, they had turned into a seemingly infinite expanse of space, and she found herself walking freely in that space.

She didn't fall even as she walked above the space— instead, her body was only pulled further towards the bright glowing ball before her.

As Willow drew closer to the large floating orb of mixed colors, she instinctively knew what it was— she didn't understand how she knew— but she did.

The Nexus.

It pulsated with the pure power of existence itself, holding the very fabric of not only this universe but all universes together in an interconnected web.

The Nexus was the heart— the core— of the universe, and each universe had a Nexus.

Each Nexus is connected to each other, constantly sending and receiving information to each other, but never overlapping.

Willow felt the call from the Nexus and could not ignore it—it was as if its mere presence had controlled her young mind, drawing her to touch it.

Her delicate hands gently touched the Nexus, and in an instant, her entire life as she knew it changed.

Upon contact, the Nexus coursed with power that it did not show in its idle state—energy rushing into the girl's body and changing her very being. Her mind was filled with information, a different life she did not know of until this moment.

In that life, she was a young high school girl on a planet called Earth. She lived her life quite normally by Earth's standards—she went to school, enjoyed shows, played games, read books and manga, and did all those things you would expect from a girl her age.

That was until she died— she didn't know how she died, but she knew she did. Passing away in her sleep peacefully, as far as she could tell.

Willow didn't understand why she had these memories— were they hers?

But if they were her's what about her life now? What about her life as Willow Bolbok— she couldn't understand what was going on.

The two memories swirled in her mind, interconnected and interweaving, making it difficult for her to understand what was going on.

Was this magic? Was this the dangerous magic that her grandfather told her about?

Or was this reincarnation? She read about the reincarnation in manga and saw it in anime.

Which memories were real and which memories were fake? Or if they were both real, what did that make her?

She couldn't take it, but the Nexus didn't allow her to break down under the mental strain, instead a calming wave overtook her mind and body, and all the built up stress instantly vanished.

Her mind was clear, and one answer came into it; they were both real.

And this was magic.

To be exact; she had been reincarnated thanks to the Nexus, and the Nexus made the memories of her previous life in another Universe awaken— triggering her mind to fuse together and be born anew.

But that didn't change who she was; she was Willow Bolbok, as well as the girl from Earth.

But along with the memories came a revelation she didn't know how to take— she was in Arcane.

It was a series she had very much enjoy in her previous life, one that was based on the popular game League of Legends; but it stood alone with its own lore.

She knew how the story would play out, at least the first season of Arcane— but she didn't know anything aside from that.

Saying she was fluent in LoL lore would be a lie. In fact, she knew almost nothing about LoL aside from some of the YouTube videos she saw explaining it.

She never played the game and she had no interest in it— the only reason she liked Arcane was because it was entertaining, not because it was LoL.

So, this was complicated.

While she knew what would happen in Arcane, meaning she knew what would happen in the coming months and years, she did not know about the world as a whole, the parts not mentioned in the first season.

"This is bad."

She muttered to herself as she cleared her thoughts and focused on the Nexus before her once more.

It wasn't done with her just yet— her hand was still firmly stuck to the surface of the Nexus, and she couldn't remove it, so it clearly had other intentions.

And that it did— because soon enough, another pulse of energy flooded into her body, causing her mind to be filled with new information again.

Not of a new life— but of a power granted by the Nexus.
