-Arcadia Online-

NOTICE: Currently in progress of rewriting things. The general plot will stay the same, but the writing will be better. Chapters 1-12 are already done. Arcadia Online; the first major VRMMORPG in the world. It’s a fantasy-like game where you can immerse yourself in it as if you were actually there, and do whatever you want (as long as it’s within the T for Teen rating). You can make friends, money, or even be the protagonist of your own adventure! Anything your heart desires, this game will let you do it! Josh is an ordinary 18-year-old guy that enjoys games; perhaps a bit too much. He plays Arcadia day in, and day out; for him, this is his job, his source of entertainment, everything! This game is practically his livelihood. Maybe one day he'll meet someone that can break him out of his shell and help to better himself as a person. New chapters either every day or every other day.

The Gathering

Messages were sent to everyone in the guild; or at least every one I could get into contact with. There were still a good amount of people I couldn't message or find a way to talk with, so I'll probably need Mike to try and get their attention or tell me their contact info. I made sure that I didn't tell anyone about Mike's diagnosis; after all, I don't want this somehow reaching Olivia through the grapevine. Instead, I said that this will probably be Mike's final event stating that he'll most likely retire from the game after this, and told them that Mike wanted to be the first guild to complete it along with how I wanted to make it special. Most of them would respond with either "Why's Mike going to stop?" or "What do you need to make it special." I guess some of them thought he would stop playing eventually, so that's probably why they didn't question further on why he's going to stop. I told them my ideas, and while only some of them could help, the ones that could agreed that it would be a good idea and said they would help.

I messaged Mike next, asking for some people's contact information, and requested to be temporarily promoted to a higher position in the guild. He didn't question it and said he'll promote me and give me their information.

Once I had talked to everyone, we still had about a day and a half left until the event opened. I really hope things work out how I plan them to. There's not much else I can do now besides wait and see.

-Later-

It was now the next day, but we still had some time left until the event started again. On our server, it'd start at 12:00 PM tomorrow, so everyone would have to be online and ready to start at that time. I logged on and opened my guild menu and was instantly bombarded with requests to join our guild. Low leveled players, high leveled players, some people from the major guilds, there were so many. I started the long and arduous task of accepting all the requests, and when I was done our guild numbers nearly doubled. We now had 68 players, and most if not all of them would be participating in the event. My plan is to get as many people as possible to participate and join together. By doing this, everyone who joins will be in the Hall of Triumphs and we all but guarantee our guild's success. There is one main problem with this idea, and that is that the boss's level will probably change depending on how many people we have along with their levels. With this many people, the boss will probably be really difficult, but since we should save a lot of time leading up to the fight, I think it'll all work out. Hopefully.

Also, despite my efforts to keep it a secret from Olivia, word eventually reached her that this would probably be Mike's last event. I didn't try to eavesdrop, but it was loud enough that I could hear it from a fair distance away. I don't remember it word for word, but Olivia was pretty much asking why this would be his last and why he didn't tell her. Mike couldn't give her a straight answer and she got mad and stormed off. I went up to him later and apologized; I tried to make sure she didn't find out, but he reassured me that it was alright.

I started gathering as many potions, revive items, and other things like that as I could. Price didn't really matter right now, so I started trying to get as many as possible in case other people needed some. Along the way, Olivia messaged me asking what was going on and why this will be Mike's final event, and I responded by saying it's not my business to tell Mike's secrets and how I really hope she will be there. She didn't respond after that. I felt bad, but I still continued gathering items for everyone for when the event started.

-Later-

It was now the day the event started, and the time was 10:27. The number of players who were joining increased, and most of them were online by this point. The 68 players from before jumped up to 87, and I invited the ones that were online to the guild. Some of them joined, but not all of them; I welcomed them all, thanked them, and opened the guild storage to them which was full of potions and quick revive tokens. I asked them not to take them all since others will probably need some too. The guild just continued to fill with more and more players, and soon enough it looked like a party that had a dress code of medieval armor.

Mike and Olivia still weren't online yet; I hope they get online and join soon.

Happy father's day to all the dads out there!
