Inside Red Star city, located in an inn, in the dead of night; a particular room covered in a thick layer of ice all around from the floor to the ceiling, as bodies scattered around the floor dying the floor red, as blood painted the icy walls.
One tall menacing figure could be seen, seemingly playing with something.

Suddenly a guttural scream as if it came from the depths of hell could be heard throughout the room.
After the scream follows a sinister laugh, seemingly enjoying the cry of pain.
"No one can hear you, due to the ice walls I put up, but keep screaming you're better than the first guy." The figure said as he held a long bloody tendon in his hands that belonged inside of the knee from the person's body that was below him as he pointed to the dead figure next to them.
The dead figure next to them would make anyone faint and scream in absolute horror and despair.
One of its eyes was missing leaving a dark shallow hole where its eye was located, it was missing a foot, and a leg. One hand had all its nails missing, while to other one had all its fingers missing. Its torso was devoid of any skin, leaving the muscle, fat, and bones hidden underneath that were now showing, as blood was still slightly flowing through its body, causing it to fall on the ice floor slowly.
Through its one remaining eye, one could tell how much pain and agony it went through before it died.
The last remaining man who had his tendons ripped out from his knees looked at the person next to him as tears could be seen running down his eyes, while snot ran from his nose.
He had watched the whole process of watching his friend who he loved like a brother being skinned alive, he could still hear the agonizing cries for help inside his head.
He turned back to the figure that caused all of this, who was enjoying this from the very start.
Ignoring the pain in his knees he started to forcefully break his dantain.
The figure was about to continue breaking his dantian but suddenly his vision turned black.
"Tsk, what a sore loser trying to blow himself up." Mei Yue said with annoyance as he wiped the newly formed blood off his blade by swinging it in the air causing it to splatter on the ice walls.

From all the dead bodies, a light blue ball of energy escaped from their chest and entered Mei Yue's body, filling him up.

He then paid the guards and entered Night City.
There were a lot of people present in Night City. Every street and road were crowded with people.
'Should have known...' Mei Yue thought as with the competition being so close and the appearance of a teleportation array, people would flock to Night City to use it.
In order to operate the teleportation array, spirit crystals were needed as its power source. Those spirit crystals were provided by the royal family and the five great sects together.
This is also the reason why people had to give them 1,000 gold coins to use this teleportation array, and why Night City used the opportunity to raise the entrance fee into the city.
An example is that in a day only 100 people used the teleportation array to teleport directly to Monarch City. Then they have to first pay 1,000 gold coins each.
If a group of a hundred people was using this service, they would have to pay a total of 100,000 gold coins. If converted into spirit crystals, it will be 1,000 low-grade spirit crystals.

"...Yes ma'am!" the attendant took a few seconds to regain functioning in his brain and then left the room after bowing toward him.
Mei Yue simply closed his eyes as he waited patiently.
"Knock, knock!"
Sometime later a knock rang out, causing Mei Yue to open his eyes and stand up, opening the door to see that the attendant brought the food to his room.
Mei Yue didn't speak a word as he simply gave some silver coins to him, then walked towards the table and began eating.
Receiving the silver coins as a tip the attendant became ecstatic as he looked at the cloaked figure who was currently eating with the hood of the cloak still on, which was a bit weird to the attendant.
"Did something new happen in Night City recently?" Mei Yue asked between some bites.
"Young Master! I heard that there is a ruin of an ancient expert in the Night River Mountain Range. Tomorrow, people will go there in a group led by the son of our city lord, Xing Niu." That Attendant said respectively.
Mei Yue's ears twitched slightly before he dismissed the attendant.
The attendant bowed before closing the door.
"A ruin of an ancient expert, there might be sinners who need devouring..." Mei Yue mumbled.
"Looks like I came to Night City at a right time, I'm so fortunate Dancing Nyphm Auction House left me a parting gift. Though, I should go alone, having a group of eyes on me is annoying and I'm not keen on following someone else's orders. There will be many people at that time who want to go alone and search for treasures in the ruin so it should be fine. The son of the City lord will isn't able to prevent people from entering."
