A New Beginning. (1)

'Where am I?'

'What the h*ll happened?'

'Am I dead or what?'

Had his senses been deprived? Quin tried to calm himself down from the shock as he recalled everything that happened before he got stuck in this predicament.

'Right, so, there was a space anomaly near my ship and I tried getting away from it. Then Alpha said something about the anomaly having a weak reaction right after the Fusion engine activated.'

He now realized that the Fusion process agitated the anomaly into reacting and swallowing everything near it.

'Well, what's the point of knowing it now? It's too late.' Quin shook his imagined head.

He calmed down, now puzzled about his current existence. Having no perception with only running thoughts is the only activity he can do.

"So now what? I don't know if being able to think is a blessing or misfortune in these circumstances."

He recalled all the memories he can remember and thought that there was nothing to regret leaving behind, as an individual left in an orphanage, raised by the federation, and trained for a specific goal.

He can only sigh over the long serialized novels he was following. Now there's no chance of reading their completed form.

"With all that. Well, at least I'm lucky to be alive."

As soon as he thought and accepted that he was alive, there was a resonance from his thinking that triggered a condition.

It activated a distinct perception that allowed him to judge his current trouble.

'What the F!'

Opening his 'vision', he sensed that 'He' is in a cramped space, hovering in what looked like a void.

It surprised him enough to allow himself to get out of his listless state of mind.

"It seems like I'm not the only thing here."

As he noticed something orbiting his position, his perception extended, then scanned it.

It revealed an ethereal crystal that alarmed his newfound instincts, telling him that this was something out of his cognition!

"It seemed like something is changing my psyche, based on this feedback."

While he is adapting to his current form, he perceived that he is absorbing some type of instinctual knowledge that allowed him to identify some unique categories that are not clear to him right now because of his lack of reference.

While this change occurred, he can also feel that his current state of mind is being influenced, removing random distracting thoughts.

It allowed him to calm down quicker and removed some uncontrolled habitual response that is derived from survival, leaving him with a stronger control of his internal consciousness.

"I just don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing."

Quin mulled over the consequences of having his thinking removed from a biological perspective.

Especially his environment did not create a robust cognition and worldview to withstand these kinds of shocks. It is already remarkable that he has not turned crazy with the credit of some factors from his current condition.

"Although my current instinct is not warning me of anything on this current transformation. Who knows what would happen when everything is over? I need to at least pause the transformation or learn to control it."

He pondered over any possible countermeasure as he tried to recall how he unlocked his current ability to perceive.

"Right, I thought and settled with the concept that I was still alive. Something in this process triggered some kind of condition, allowing my perception to be activated."

Looking back on this possibility, he tried to think about diverse things that are related to the concept of slow or stop. He tried if it could hit the jackpot that can trigger a condition.

"Wait, this will not work. Nothing is changing, maybe except making me adapt to my thinking process faster."

He double-checked his memory of what happened when he activated his perception and tried to figure out what the difference was.

"Right, I cannot perceive then, so my consciousness was all concentrated inside. I need to replicate that state."

He closed his perception and tried to control his consciousness by instinct, allowing everything to revert.

Returning to the state of being senseless with all the concentration gathered into his thoughts.

As he recurred in this state, Quin tried to focus on the concept of slow, stop, and transformation, pointing it to his concept of self, hoping for his thoughts to resonate.

As his thinking activity grew, his thought resonated and lit up some spots colliding with each other on the surface of his lodging place.

It revealed its full picture, an ethereal, surreal, and beautiful perfect crystal that contains no point, line, or planar defects.

As these light spots keep on converging and colliding with each other, Quin's perception of his current state came back, only without him needing to control it.

It made him continue the resonance even without going back to that senseless state.

"Slowing down is a success!"

"But this also confirmed the impossibility of it being stopped."

He perceived his surroundings, sensing his current structure, knowing what it looked like.

He can also distinguish some small light spots lighting up, colliding then disappearing in an instant at the same time with his corresponding random thoughts while accompanying the dense formation of light spots colliding with each other with his concentrated thinking.

"So this is how my consciousness thinks. Just, I wonder how this thing came about. Also, it made sense why anything derived from biological signals is getting cleared out of my system."

Meditating on his current existence, Quin now has to figure out how he can direct his psyche's transformation.

He needs to keep at least some beneficial biological urges, especially in this situation where he does not know if he will need them in the future.

"From the root of this transformation mechanism, I can perceive that the reason every habit derived from biological signals on my thinking is getting cleared out is because of my instinct, deeming it useless on my current existence."

Knowing the cause, he can then try to derive a workable solution.

"So, if I go with it the other way around, at least allowing my current existence to connect with a biological entity will optimize my transformation in the direction I can accept"

"Meanwhile, this may also keep some beneficial thinking patterns."

Establishing a goal, he is now full of energy!

Even getting stuck in this event, he can still work out a way for him to live on, and as far as he can tell, this might just be a new beginning of a distinct fate.
