2 Melina

He extended his claws and slid down while cutting the throat in the process. Warm blood sprayed on him, making him feel like he had taken a shower after weeks of rolling in dirt.

He didn't stop. He was ready to die by doing so but that did not stop him.

Darkness enveloped him as he descended further and further into the seemingly abyssal stomach.

With a loud boom, he landed on a glassy, flat dark surface. Something he did not expect at all.

There was no flesh visible anywhere, just pure darkness.

He struck the floor but it didn't bulge or crack, which was a first with his current strength.

He kept attacking relentlessly but to no avail. He charged at the walls, the ceiling and it still wouldn't bulge.

"It is useless. I created that vault from abylasium. You are aware of adamantite, yes? Abylasium is what happens when adamantite is brought to the bottom of the ocean and put under intense pressure with an unholy amount of heat.

There are also more detailed procedures but I forgot about those. Just think of them as unbreakable for now."

"Unbreakable, heh? I am sure I heard about that before and look and how it turned out. She ended up being the number 989th on my shelf."

He struck again and again. He kept trying for hours, days, weeks and months.

It was because he never got tired. His body was finely tuned to such an ability and it allowed him to go on a non-stop killing spree for years whenever he found a planet bustling with life.

His stamina won't run out and his worn mind erased giving up from its database.

In the end, his durability failed him.

His 4 hands, all crushed. His head mashed into a pulp as a result of a thousand too many headbutts and wrecked shoulders as a result of relentless charge.

His legs were twisted beyond recognition and his secret stingers were all broken.

Even the most potent acid he could secrete turned out to be useless.

Without any food, he was forced to consume his extra limbs to sustain himself.

He started with his wings, his extra eyeballs, his tail, and two of his arms.

Even then the ravager had his limits.

In his final hours, he saw a light sphere on the other end of the room.

It took on the form of a small, frail-looking animal.

It had two ears, unnecessarily long hair, and hair only on the head, two eyes, a single nose, and a mouth.

Its limbs were slim without any muscles and its skin was smooth and soft.

A strong sneeze could kill it. That's the feeling the ravager got.

"Too weak, simply too weak."

The thing rolled its eyes and said "Look at who is talking."

It was the same voice.

"Dumbass! Showing your weak spot like that!"

Without any warning, he bit a broken piece of his stinger and chucked it across the room to it.

It phased through much to his astonishment.

"Is this an illusion? A drug that induces hallucinations? No, that can't be it. I have the strongest immune system!"

"No, dumbass, it means you are dead!"

"Impossible, I am still alive! My heart is still beating!"

The thing sighed and held its hands on its slim waist. "Well then listen for it, dumbass."

In order to prove it wrong, he listened for his heartbeat… only to listen to dead silence coming from his body.

"You are already dead. My soul is currently digesting yours right now but because you have so much energy, it is taking a while.

But it should start about now."

Not long after her statement, a small light sphere came out of the ravager's immobile body.

It flew towards the thing and assimilated with it, causing it to glow a little bit brighter.

As soon as the first one got out, it seemed like a dam was opened.

Dozens of light spheres separated and flew towards it, the hundreds and thousands.

His soul power was pouring out of him in a seemingly endless manner.

The spheres were not consistent. Some were small and some were big but that didn't matter.

With each sphere lost, he felt weaker and smaller.

In the end, he ran out of light spheres to lose.

His body dried out and became a lifeless husk and a young boy sat on it, marveling at his body.

"I look like it…" He exclaimed softly.

He did not notice he was surrounded by billions of people with similar form, all looking at him as if they were staring at the embodiment of disgusting things.

The thing stepped forward and extended its hand to him while smiling.

He recognized its species now. It was a human… just like what he used to be and a female variant.

Her smooth white hair dangled down as she introduced herself.

"My name is Melina and I'm here to undo the chaos the apocalypse brought. In order to do that, I would need a miracle. A miracle only a god could bring.

So I sought to become a god myself and I needed your help for that.

You see when you kill a living being, you absorb the soul power of the being. However, the soul power is tainted when you acquire it and it leads to the mutation that you like so much.

I studied soul power for the past 500 years and learned to purify it.

Purified soul power can do wondrous things, like reversing time.

So I needed a large supply of soul power and you were the biggest source there is. So I hunted for you for the past 300 years.

The roar you released helped me pinpoint your location so thanks for that."

He did not understand a single thing but he got the gist.

"So does that mean, reversing time, I would get to fight my opponents again?"

Melina's face grimaced.

"Although I am trying to prevent all the fights, some would be inevitable. You can fight then."

He felt his non-existent heart racing and he jumped up.

"I will help you if it means I get to fight. You have my permission to use my soul energy… whatever it was called."

Her face broke out into a genuine grin, a stark contrast to the people surrounding them.

"Well then, let's go face the apocalypse one more time.

Don't fail me, Ivarage."
