1 Times of Change

Waking up to this new world still felt weird, even after the initial trials we have been through are still fresh in our minds. The atrocities we've committed, and acts of violence that would have had us hunted down were ignored due to our power. Still, this world has made us three throw all of our morals out the door to even be able to survive in this new hellscape. While rising from the bed which we were lucky enough to find an intact apartment that must've belonged to some big shot, had a custom made bed to be about three times bigger than a California king, covered in silky black sheets, soft cotton topper, and finally topped off with a fur top winter blanket. While Sasha, Sarah and I were this lucky, not everyone was. While trying to not wake both the women up, I shimmied out of between them and sat on the edge of the bed in my red boxers, resting my elbows on my lower thighs, while supporting my head with my hands, I started to go through all of it again from the beginning.

On a specific night (November 24th, 2049) was that his family was kidnapped and taken hostage by a worldwide know orginization called the "Worlds End Front" or W.E.F, and there goal in this kidnapping was to force the last world wide war to speed up there plans in reforging this world into there image.

Mikes family had a lot of secrets until one fatefull day that his familys extremely private server which was even hidden from every government in the world was hacked into. This cause his family to go into a full panic frenzy, while in the peak of there panic trying to get everyone and everything together, the secruity sytsems were going off like crazy.

While his dad knew the reason for all this happening and tried his best to keep his family as sane and safe as possible he did the only thing he could, and that was go with the people to protect his family because family always comes first to him, no matter the cost. But unfortunately that wasn't what happened, within the next few minutes three different walls were simultaneously destroyed which were located in the south part of the house being the backyard, the northeast wall being the kitchen, and the west wall being the closest to the basement area they were all in currently.

while running out of time both his mom and dad were looking at each other and nodded once to one another, he and his two siblings, who were his younger and older sister, sasha and sarah. All three siblings were all shoved into the basement so quickly they couldn't comprehend what was happening at all in those precious moments.

(Mike pov)

As I was looking at my parents through a small hole in the door, with a heavy heart knowing that I couldn't do anything to help them other than keep my sisters and I as quiet as possible. While doing what must be done, while moving My sisters and I away from the door to our secret escape tunnel, I had a feeling gunshots were about to go off so I handed l my dear to innocent for this world sisters earplugs off the workbench we were about to pass and told them to go where I was pointing. As I knew it gunshots, screaming, cursing, and unexpectedly explosions probably from the intruders were constantly going on up above us.

Then to my utter dismay, I heard the last words coming from a female voice, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, YOU FUCKING BASTARDS GET OFF HIM. JACK PLEASE, CAN YOU HEAR ME." after that primal scream of pain another voice sounded in the erriely quiet home, "I'm sorry things had to be this way, but you, your husband, and or children are the keys to what we want and we are only doing what we must to ensure the future holds true." The man had a british accent that carried a heavy but light baritone like voice. As this was happening I signaled for my sisters to take out the earplugs so we can communitcate better and can hear me. After telling my sisters to keep going until this tunnel starts to split into more and wait their for me.

While they continued on ahead, I stayed back for as long as I dared to while trying to listen to the dying breaths of both my parents and probably the leader of that group that has attacked us today. After a bunch of screaming and torture I couldnt bare it anymore and decided to turn away and meet up with my sisters I heard something I probably shouldn't have that came hopefully from my dads mouth, " You bastards will never get them, because for once in my pathetic life I changed the old part of me that never cared for anyone but myself... *cough*...*cough*, ever since I had my children, I have always put them before me as well as my wife. That is why we agreed to never tell them about the discovery of it to them. But once they find out what they are and who they are destined to become, be it good or evil, you and your orginization will never be safe you pathetic bast-". My dads voice, I had confirmed once he started talking was abrutly cut off with a gunshot, then another round of curses and promises about me and my sisters being good or evil had been decieded, and before I had the chance to catch anymore about me and my sisters, another big explosion occured and this one threw me into the tunnel and sealed me and my sisters off from the assualt.

(Sasha pov)

"Sarah are you still following me?" "yes" sarah replied back after a few seconds. "I think something happened to mike, I think we should go back and see if everything is alright," sasha said outloud but low in volume as to not attract any attention if there was anyone or anything in these tunnels. "no, don't, he told us specificly to go and wait for him at the fork in these tunnels, why do you want to go back and look for him?" sarah replied back instantly and without hesitation, it wasn't that she didn't want to, but she had complete faith in her brother pulling through and keeping his word if nothing happened, But something was telling her to listen to her sister and not fight against it. Against her better judgement she just shook her head and decided to go with sasha and see what was happening, but before that they both made it clear with themselves that no matter what they see, they will not make a sound, this was for their own safety.

As they were making there way back through the tunnel to where the basement once had been, and the reason for saying "once had been" was due to the fact after turning the corner and not seeing an opening, they had thought they may have taken a wrong turn, but what made there hearts sink was mike, lying on the ground with once of his arms nearly completely cut clean off at the elbow. But that wasn't all, since he was also peppered with tiny rock shards all thorughout his torso, and when they looked down at his legs, they were absolutely astonished to see his legs bent in a way they shouldn't be bent in. As they both were there crying and begging for him to pull through while trying there best to stop the bleeding with the little but very valuable knowledge they were taught by their dad. Through all that crying a little secret came out of sarah's mouth. "I love you mike, *sniff* I really, really love you, please don't leave us, *sniff* please don't leave me behind, please pull though." after hearing that confession sasha who was there battling with her own feelings was having the same thoughts and before she could voice them she felt a hand on her face, it was a very rough, and inconsistent hand, but she knew who it was. As she looked down she finally lost it and broke down and confessed everything,

*ugly crying and confession at the same time*

"I'm so sorry mike, *sniff* I wish I could have been here to help you, I wish I could have forced you with us, but that would never have happened, always trying to keep us safe at your own expense, *short cry session* why was it no matter how you were treated you could always be so nice to everyone, why did you have to always stand up for me and sarah, no matter how injured you got, you always got back up, over and over again. Even when people came to harass you about being adopted and failed abortion, because you were to ugly and nonappiling to the eye as a baby and that's why you were abandoned. You stole my heart many years ago regaurdless of what society thinks, I have loved you for a long time and could never be true to myself, I wish I came and told you sooner. Mike please, I beg you, don't leave me and sarah alone, we need you.
