8 Rebirth 2.0

"Here goes nothing" whispered Emilia to herself as she stared at the tall building in front of her. She was standing right outside Zeus Group, her work place. After taking in a deep breath Emilia confidently walked into the building greeting those she could remember as well as those others she couldn't but still greeted.

After a little walk Emilia arrived at her department. Once she walked in she immediately became the center of attention.

"Morning Emilia!" Came a chirpy voice from one of tables.

"Morning Courtney how are you "

"I'm great ,are you ok how come you didn't come to work yesterday?" She asked.

"I'm alright my son was sick yesterday so I had to take care of him." Emilia replied as she sat down by her desk

"Oh I hope his ok now." Courtney said sounding a little worried or at least that's what she thought it sounded like. She wouldn't have been surprised if it was said sarcastically since most people don't look well upon single moms especially those as young as her.

"You don't have to worry he's okay now." Emilia responded while turning on her computer and logging in for work.

"That's good." Courtney sighed as she went back to her desk to get back to her work

Once everything had calmed down and Emilia had reassured her collegeus that everything was okay with both herself and little Qin , she picked up her files to begin reading.

Once she had a clear idea of what she had been working on during this text she officially began working.

"Okay class today we are going to be reading 'Hatchet' so get your books out and turn to page 47 please" said Mr Anderson, Qin Lu's English teacher.

After a few minutes of reading Qin Lu fell into a daze as he stared at the book in front of him. He still couldn't believe he was alive again and back to a year before to the apocalypse.

In his past life when the apocalypse first started his mom and him had both been able to escape towards the base created by the military at at the edge of City A. Things were going well I'm the base for the first two years but during the second year things went bad. One of the survivors at base had drank contaminated water somehow and ended up turning. Him turning took everyone by surprise and by the time the base reacted it was too late. He had infected others and his mom was one of the casualties. She had gotten scratched saving him from one of the zombies. He made it through that ordeal but she did not. For the next four years that he lived he always remembered that day. He had blamed himself for four years for his mom's death and always wanted a way to make things right, to redo it. And he got it! He did not expect to get the a chance to come back to life, even coming back a year in advance.

This time things were gonna be different, he was gonna make sure of it. He had already decided, during this year he was going to do his best to collect materials and get his mom to a safe place before the apocalypse began. He was going to make sure she lived on in the best way possible. And maybe just maybe he could find his father again.

Yes he wanted to find his dad. As a 8 year old child in the apocalypse there was no he would have been able to survive as long as he had. If it hadn't been for an accident he would have probably lived longer. The only reason he survived this long was because his father found him. Though they had met by accident his dad had taken care of him for the entire four years they had been together. He also taught him how to fight and how to survive in the apocalypse.

He did not believe he would have been able to make it this long without him so in this life he hoped that they would be able to meet each other sooner. So that they could be a family sooner and live together during this time.

With his skills he did not believe he couldn't do it. During the time had stayed with his dad he had learned that before the apocalypse he had been part of the army. He also knew his dad's past or should he say present address and that his dad would be on holiday during this time so if he could find a way to inform his dad about his and his mom's existence through his hacking abilities and leave him a few clues he was sure his dad would find them soon enough and they could reunite sooner .

After deciding on what he would do in the future Qin Lu picked up his book and began reading again , in a better mood then ever .
