Shia's First Time

Zhan fell sideways and hit the floor. His vision became blurry as blood continued to flow out from his head and throat. Zhan could feel his life slipping away, and the bleeding just wouldn't stop…he knew that he was close to losing consciousness, but he forced himself to stay awake.

'0.3 to flesh vitality.'

'0.2 to organ vitality.'

He wanted to add more than this, but his mind would blur even further if he did so. Losing consciousness would endanger his life in this precarious situation, so he only added points into whatever could help.

"Zhan, Zhan, no, Zhan!" He vaguely heard a painful cry from besides him. He couldn't move or even see, but he knew it was Nui. He felt two other figures arrive by his side, Shia and Miu.

"Bastard, what are you…!" Shia growled out as a man stepped forwards with an evil grin. He was someone who joined in the fights against a few of the weaker beasts. He hated being bossed around, but he was terrified of Zhan. The way he saw it, this was a big opportunity!

"Manager, move, let me kill this arrogant little bastard!"

Shia's gaze coldened, as did Miu's. They both stood in front of Zhan whilst Nui knelt besides him and cried, gripping his body tightly whilst muttering things like 'please don't go!'

"Zhan just saved us all from that beast…do you think you would still be alive if not for him?" Miu spoke grimly. She saw another two men and a woman standing behind the front man, each with weapons that Zhan supplied to them.

"Little girls, why don't you all move. Hehehe, if you want, I can play with you in that bastard's place, hehehe…" A 50 year old man with a spear stood behind the front man who held a machete. They weren't afraid of these girls…even if Shia had some ability, it was four against one. As for Miu, she had only fought twice so they didn't think much of her.

On the ground, Zhan's couldn't hear any of this. His vision and hearing were blurring, he was extremely close to passing out. Adding those points into vitality made his mind blur harder for a moment, but he eventually calmed down as he felt the wound on his neck begin to close up. The bleeding slowed down, but it was still going. That is, until a faint warm energy filled his body.

This warm energy felt truly incredible. His cold extremities regained some warmth, whilst his hazy mind began to feel much more clear. Taking this opportunity as he regained some clarity, Zhan grit his teeth and added another 0.3 points into flesh vitality. His mind vibrated and he only barely hung on, but combined with the golden light, he recovered within a few seconds. His mental faculties began to return, albeit very slowly.

'0.3 points to organ vitality!' He thought resolutely. His brain was injured, such an injury needed attention right away. Organ vitality was the only way to fix this quickly.

With his current vitality, combined with the golden warmth coming from who knows where, Zhan felt the sense of internal crisis fade away. However, his keen instincts were telling him that he was still in danger right now!

He really couldn't add anymore points without passing out now, it was already more strain than his consciousness could handle and he would have passed out were it not for that pleasant golden energy.

Zhan's thoughts gradually became more lucid, until finally, he was able to hear and see again. He slowly struggled to sit up with his still dizzy mind.

"Ah, Zhan! You're awake, you're ok, ah, I'm so glad!" Nui hugged him tightly and sobbed into his bare chest. Zhan felt a sense of warmth, not just from the golden energy that Nui was supplying him with unknowingly, but also because of her clear intense emotional display.

Zhan slowly stood up and pacified Nui by silently stroking her cat ears, then turned towards the source of the danger at hand. When he saw Miu and Shia standing there, both with cuts along their arms, he suddenly released an overwhelming killing intent. He was still very much injured and had so little blood in his body that anyone else would be dead, but something was fuelling him right now, something that he refused to ignore.

Without even a weapon in hand, he slowly walked forwards. When he passed Miu and Shia, they were startled and called out to him.

"Zhan, you're badly hurt, we can handle this!" Miu cried out.

"Zh-Zhan, let us-"

"It's fine…you two did well." Zhan smiled without turning his head, then continued walking towards the group of three ahead.

He quickly assessed the situation. Four people had grouped up and tried to kill him whilst he was down. Miu and Shia stepped in and began fighting, but after Shia killed the woman on the right, both sides became more cautious of one another.

Seeing how the other side were covered in scratches, the 50 year old man especially had a nasty wound across his stomach which could prove fatal if left untreated, Zhan was surprised. Just how long had they been battling?

'Looking at it, Miu should have landed a single strike to the leading guy's shoulder, all of the other wounds were caused by Shia, but something is off…' He pondered this casually as he continued walking into the group.

"Z-Zhan! I, we, these girls tried to attack you as-"

BANG!

Zhan suddenly blurred, rushing forwards and uppercutting the leader right underneath his chin. His neck flipped backwards, broken on impact. His body flew up into the sky, slammed into the ceiling, then fell back down.

This man possessed an ability, a powerful body. He considered himself as being someone similar to Zhan, but they were simply incomparable.

"I, I was forced to join them, I didn't want to-"

CHI!

Zhan formed a spear with his hand, then stabbed into the young man's heart. He was an athlete, but had no superpower. He didn't even have time to react, nor did he think to stab at Zhan with his short sword before he dropped to the floor dead.

Zhan slowly turned towards the old man.

"You can't just go around killing like this! The other three are rough young fellows, but the police will have you if you kill this gentle old man!" The old man yelled out as he backed away fearfully. Zhan stared at him silently, then bent down and picked up the knife from the dead youngster.

Whoosh…CHI!

He threw the knife, stabbing into the old geezer's throat. The old man gasped and clutched his neck, but when he pulled the knife out in his haste, a fountain of blood erupted from his body. His blood pressure dropped instantly, then he died within seconds.

"Hah…" After handling this matter, Zhan realised that he wasn't exactly in good condition right now. He really was low on blood and his mind was hazy. No, it was more than hazy, it was a miracle that he was even standing. He glanced back and found the nearest sofa, near to the back of the reception, then walked across calmly before sitting down.

His actions were calm and imposing, but inside his mind…

'Holy shit, I barely made it to this couch without passing out! I'm in really bad shape right now, I hope nobody notices and targets me, or else I'm basically fucked…'

"Zhan!" The teary eyed Nui snapped out of her stupor and ran across towards him. She was going to throw herself into his embrace, but stopped herself at the last second as she turned red. In the end, she sat down besides him, very close, such that their shoulders were touching.

She grabbed his arm and quickly looked at his neck and his head. She didn't notice it, but as that anxious expression appeared on her face, a golden light flowed out from her body and into his own at every point of contact.

'That feeling from before…so it really was Nui!' Zhan thought back and remembered that it was this same golden glow which allowed him to recover his sound mind as quickly as he did. Even now, he could feel the pain and damage healing over. His own body's ability to recover his brain from that damage wasn't enough to heal with no hidden damage, but Nui's power was able to do exactly that.

Miu and Shia quickly arrived in front of him. Miu analysed him with her golden eyes, whilst Shia still seemed to be in a daze.

"Thank you, all of you." Zhan finally said. The three girls blinked.

"We didn't do much, without you, that bat or bird or whatever it was would have killed us all." Miu smiled, then sat down on Zhan's other side. This couch was a bit small, so the three of them barely fit.

"I, I wasn't able to do anything though…" Nui clenched her small fists.

"Nui, you're using your power right now." Zhan chuckled and rubbed her cute wiggling ears. "I wouldn't have recovered so quickly were it not for your ability. Nui is my lucky star."

"Ah, I, I really am doing it, how?!" She cried out in bewilderment. Zhan laughed, then out of nowhere, he wrapped his arms around Nui and lifted her up and onto his lap. She yelped out slightly, but then blushed a deep shade of red when Zhan kept his arms around her and pulled her in towards him.

"Shia, here, I made some space."

Shia would usually reprimand or call him a pervert in a situation like this, but for once, she just nodded slightly and sat down besides him.

"Are you alright?" She asked, looking to her left.

"Mm, I'll be fine. Shia, you doing ok? Most people struggle with their first kill."

Her eyes widened slightly. The confusion in her heart dissipated and was replaced with an unknown sense of warmth.

"I….think I'll be okay. But I'm clearly not as impressive as you…when you killed earlier, you seemed totally fine…"

"That was far from my first kill, Shia." Zhan shook his head and smiled towards her again. Her eyes widened and she gave him a questioning look, making Zhan laugh.

"Where do you think I always went off to for a few days at a time, coming back wounded almost every time?"

Shia blinked and frowned. No matter how she thought about it, she couldn't find a suitable reason.

Wait…was he a serial killer?!

"Death matches. That's how I made all my money before the cataclysm."

"Seriously?" Shia's eyes widened and she inhaled slightly. She thought back and remembered that Zhan had connections to the syndicate, reminding her of a popular rumour that circulated this city…

"The syndicate really has a gladiatorial arena?"

"It does. So don't compare yourself to me…this type of thing is only normal to me at this point."
