9 Base and survivors (I)

The man jumped down and went running and came back after a few minutes, he was holding a torch of fire accompanied by a woman wearing a police outfit. She looked to be in her late twenties, about 26 to 28 year old, she was very beautiful with a well shaped body.

Davis was mesmerized for a moment, before he heard her cold voice." Who are you? And where did you come from?"

"Hey miss, my name is Davis and I come from the outskirts of the east side of the city", Davis asked with an indifferent tone.

"What?" The man yelled while the woman was looking at Davis from head to toe, Which made him furrow with annoyance, he was considering this as a disrespectful and humiliating action.

"Our reports said that the city was full of roaming undeads and wandering beasts, so could you explain to me how in the world a lone civilian had made it alive from almost outside the city to its center", the woman asked with a suspicious tone.

Davis was wearing black clothes, in addition to the darkness of the night, the woman could not recognize that his clothes were covered in blood, she couldn't even think that he reached here by killing almost fifty undeads in two hours.

" Miss, are you interrogating me or something? And shouldn't you be asking about my health and if I am alright or not, as a police woman?" Davis really hated it when people looked down on him.

" I should know how you made it here, if you killed undead or not, or if you used some secured route which will help us help people around and bring them here. Or do you think that a police commander doesn't have the authority to ask you?"

"You! police commander? Aren't you a bit young?" Davis was surprised with how high her social status was to obtain such a position at a young age.

"That's none of your business, now answer me please", the woman was getting impatient, on the other side, the man beside her was looking at the undeads that were coming from behind Davis. He wanted to speak but the woman raised her hand and silenced him.

"Tsh, how did i came here you say, then open your eyes wide miss commander", Davis turned around and kicked the ground vanishing from his place before appearing beside the three clumsy sneaking undeads, with one move, he separated their head from body in a clean sword attack, he had already sensed their presence before they even got closer to him.

The man fell on his butt while the woman's eyes were wide open with surprise and a bit of disbelief. The man just vanished just like that and the next moment the three undead heads rolled on the ground.

She saw the undeads reaching the barricade and wanted to test this young man courage when she heard him say that he came from the outskirts of the city and acted like he wasn't bothered with the Apocalypse, even if he was just making a facade and was attacked by the undeads, she was confident in her level 7 power and that she would be able to save him in time, she wanted to teach him a lesson.

However, the young man's speed and actions were beyond her expectations. He handled the undeads that were bothering them for the last three days like if it was nothing to him. She couldn't help but look at him in a new light, such a powerful man was what their base needed right now.

"Do you like my answer, miss COMMANDER", Davis said with a mocking tone when he saw the shock in her eyes.

Hearing his mocking tone, the woman snorted in annoyance, but she knew that he was a rare find in this chaotic time, for her family and for the base that her father established, she had to do everything she can to recruit him, and the first thing was to get on his good side.

"Please excuse my previous behavior, we had some problems lately in the base, so we couldn't trust anyone who wanted to enter the base", The woman bowed her head a little as an apology before she told the man to open the door of the truck for Davis.

Davis said nothing as he went inside, he took a look around seeing how this new base farred in the Apocalypse.

People were running around transporting boxes, shifting their positions, cleaning weapons and making food. They were united as they worked and helped each other, making a harmonious atmosphere contrary to the situation they were facing.

Davis was glad that people could make a surviving base despite the sudden black out that hit the entire world, he kept following the woman who was leading him to the one in command while talked with each other, she was called Natalia and her father was the one who took all responsibility and established this base with the help of his subordinates.

"Please when you see the commander, show some respect and try to not anger him, he is stressed by the escalating situation, and he is getting angry very fast lately", Natalia said while walking in front of him, giving the perverted Davis an opportunity to inspect her sexy body.

His mind was elsewhere as his greedy eyes were fixed on her buttocks, which was noticed by Natalia "Please walk by my side Sir.Davis'' She said whie stared at him with her cold eyes .

Davis, wearing a mocking smile walked to her side while scratching his ear. "Tsk, if you don't want people to stare, don't make it this eye catching by wearing this hot sexy outfit"

"This is a police uniform, I can't change it and even if it was eye-catching you should show some respect and don't stare too much".

"Whatever", Davis wasn't bothered with her icy cold tone and kept walking to the building in front of him.

The safe area of the base was covering the police station, the market and the nearby buildings with a radius of 300 meters. The one in command made the barricade surrounding these buildings in a way that made it easier to be protected. They also have an advantage of securing the food from the market, the patrolling was done even at night which showed that they were well organized and disciplined.

"So when you said that you came from the outskirts of the city, did you really kill the undeads along the way? And did you find any survivors on your way?" Natalia said as they entered a large building, this was the police station.

"Yeah i killed a lot of undeads, but most of the time I just avoided them, as for survivors I didn't see any" Davis was surveying the building while he talked, they were still some policemen working and making errands, some of them would stop and make salute when they saw Natalia passing by.

The building was full of fire torches, every wall they passed by had some which made the inside of the building well lit.

Before long they reached a door on the second floor, the door had a sign with the words 'Deputy Chief' on it, Natalia stopped for a second to adjust her outfit while signaling Davis to follow her inside.

She knocked on the door two times, and waited for a few seconds before the reply came "Come in", the voice was deep and had an authoritative tone.

When both of them walked inside, Natalia made a salute " Deputy Chief Vector " making Davis who was behind her make a low chuckle, it was really hard to see her act all serious with the man who was supposed to be her father.

"Sigh, how many times i told you to act without formalities when we are alone, you should relax a bit girl or you will become more like me having a bad temper all the time" The man said in a helpless voice before he shifted his gaze toward the unfamiliar person standing next to his daughter.

'What with this outfit he is wearing!' He observed the man for a moment noticing that he was smiling the whole time like he wasn't affected by the Apocalypse.

Davis was also observing the middle aged man, he was wearing what was supposed to be the uniform of the deputy chief, a dark blue outfit with a lot of badges that he didn't care what they meant. He was interested in the man who established the base fast enough, so he started a conversation with him right away.

" Hello Chief, you really did a great job by establishing this base so fast, i really respect you Chief " Davis wanted to build a good relationship with this important figure since he was in charge of the whole base right now.

" Thank you young man, you seem like you just joined us, well done in surviving and I welcome you to our base. I hope you will contribute and help us make it work through this, Apocalypse" the Deputy Chief said with a deep voice while he stared at his daughter with a questioning gaze, why she brought this man to him as he was not responsible for welcoming newcomers to the base .

"Well chief, i don't want to waste your time, but i want to ask you a favor" Davis sat on the sofa casually making the Deputy chief frown.

" Sorry to disappoint you young man, but if you gonna ask me to help you search your relatives or something like that, don't bother asking, because we turned down requests like this for last three days, it's risky since outside is full of roaming zombies, we don't have enough manpower to that", The Deputy Chief turned him down before he even asks.

" Don't misunderstand me Chief, I need help to search for my relatives, but it's not the manpower that I need. I just need to know if there is a way to reach the side of the principal road since my relative is on the other side and I alone is enough to escorte her here" Davis said with a confident smile.

The Deputy Chief raised his eyebrow while observing the young man 'Is he really confident in his strength or is he just bragging!'.

"Young man, do you know how the situation is outside? maybe you were holed up somewhere all this time, but let me tell you that the city now is full of zombies and fucking giant animals. And here you are telling me that you alone are enough to bring someone from the other side of the city", the Deputy Chief seemed to be angered by the Davis.

"Don't worry Chief, i'm confident in my new power", Davis turned his gaze toward Natalia while smiling.

The Deputy Chief seemed to catch the meaning of the young man's gaze, so he also fixed his eyes on his daughter waiting for an explanation.

Natalia who was now the focus of both of them, made a cute cough and stepped 2 steps closer to her father.

" He is strong, i think he isn't boasting and can back up his words", Natalia said while her gaze was fixed on her feet.

"How much his is strong?" The Deputy Chief now adjusted his seat while his angry tone was gone, he knew that the strength of the individual was more important than anything else after the zombies and the giant beasts appeared.

After a few seconds of silence, Natalia's voice was heard in the quiet room.

" He is strong, much Stronger than me, maybe he is the strongest person in our base right now".

" WHAT?!! that's impossible", the deputy Chief stood from his seat while screaming with a thunderous voice forgetting all his ethics and manners.
