5 The School

"Good!" James realizes the rare opportunity and prepares to charge forward. However, at this moment, a "puff" sound comes from his gun, and the flame extinguishes instantly.

"Damn it, the energy is depleted!" James tries a few times, but he can't produce any flames. Just then, the newly arriving zombies fill the gap and surround them.

"Quick, retreat into the house!" Clark shouts loudly.

Without the firepower from the flamethrower, facing a mountain of zombies with only three people is like bringing a knife to a gunfight. James is still somewhat unwilling, but Clark pulls him back forcefully, retreating into the house. However, this can't be sustained for too long. The entire small building will be torn down by these zombies; it's only a matter of time. "

What do we do now?"

Olivia Turner looks frightened, staring at the continuously incoming zombies outside. Clark glances outside and then at Olivia Turner, coming up with an idea. He walks directly to Olivia Turner. "Give me a kiss!"

Olivia Turner is momentarily bewildered, not understanding Clark's sudden request. "Smack!" Olivia Turner gives Clark a direct slap.

"You pervert!" Clark feels a strange sensation on his face, not pain, more like being blown by the wind.

"If you want to survive, trust me!" Clark says loudly. This foolish woman might be too late; he'll have to act desperately. Olivia Turner is stunned. James holds the door firmly, looking at Clark with disdain, thinking that this guy is still so lascivious in this situation.

"Dang dang dang!"

The door is continuously pounded, and James clearly can't hold on any longer. "Hurry up!" Clark is truly speechless; if this method doesn't work, he'll have to charge out and fight for his life.

After some hesitation, Olivia Turner finally makes a decision. She closes her eyes, seemingly summoning great courage.

Facing Clark, she moves her face closer. Clark, who doesn't have time to be delicate, directly brings his face close, meeting Olivia Turner's lips. She quickly pulls away, then turns around as if unable to believe she actually kissed Clark in his current state.

"Ding!

The system detects an increase in affection from the beauty towards the host, rewarding accordingly!"

The system's voice rings out once again. "

This method really works!

" Clark is excited, almost jumping up. "System reward: One directional move within a hundred meters. Function description: Allows the host to teleport to any location within a hundred meters."

The system explains.

"Hehe, system, don't blame me for cheating, I had no choice!" Clark secretly laughs in his heart while looking outside. "Within a hundred meters? Should be enough!"

He tightly grips the dagger, activating this teleportation opportunity. "Make way!" Clark pushes James away and rushes outside, quickly being surrounded by the zombie horde. "Don't go!" Olivia Turner shouts loudly, but she can't see Clark anymore.

At this point, Clark has already been teleported to a distant corner, facing a completely unfamiliar entity! This should be a zombie, but it looks different from others. This fellow doesn't have the rotten patches on its body; its head looks somewhat elongated, resembling an oval. It has small eyes, pitch black without visible whites. Its height is similar to a normal person, but the limbs are very robust, and its body is covered with dense fur, resembling a wild man.

This B-level zombie is holding a bone with several small holes, seemingly using it to control other zombies by playing some kind of tune. "Only by killing you can we survive!" Clark brandishes the dagger and charges towards the creature. The B-level zombie immediately raises the bone to its mouth and starts playing a strange tune.

A low, beastly sound fills the air; it's unpleasant, but Clark doesn't react to it. "Die!" Clark swings his dagger. The B-level zombie, not expecting this move to have no effect, hurriedly dodges while continuing to play its bone, making the sound louder. The horde of zombies that was attacking James and the others, under this sound, receives new orders. They turn around in unison and charge towards Clark. "Got to hurry!" Clark knows the longer it takes, the worse for him.

He tightly grips the dagger and rushes towards the B-level zombie. Unluckily for the B-level zombie, after several dodges, it accidentally backs into a corner with no way out. "Click!" A crisp sound is heard as Clark stabs the dagger into its chest. Green fluids flow out, emitting a foul smell. Simultaneously, the incoming horde of zombies, like flies smelling rotten flesh, is driven insane. Clark quickly tosses the B-level zombie aside and hides, preparing to fight again at any moment. However, the zombies rushing over completely ignore Clark.

They act like crazed wolves, rushing towards the body of the B-level zombie, fighting for their share of the feast. Clark watches as the zombies go mad, realizing that he needs to leave quickly. "The B-level zombie's flesh is considered a delicacy to these low-level zombies!" James seems to have witnessed this kind of scene before and shows no surprise. "We better leave quickly. More zombies might be attracted here soon."

Olivia Turner turns her head away, feeling nauseated. "Ding! The system detects the host's first successful kill of a higher-level zombie, granting a special reward—Body Strengthening, effective against physical damage." The system's voice echoes once again. What is this reward? Clark tries to figure out how to use this reward, but James has already started to move. Olivia Turner glares at Clark, gesturing for him to hurry up, and Clark doesn't ask any more questions. The three quickly traverse several blocks, occasionally encountering scattered zombies.

Clark and James choose to avoid them. If discovered and not many zombies are chasing, they'll kill them. In this process, Clark learns the techniques to kill A-level zombies: directly behead them with the dagger and then stab into the heart to completely immobilize them.

Olivia Turner, from feeling nauseous at the beginning, gradually adapts or becomes somewhat numb to the scenes.

After a journey of nearly half a day, the three individuals arrived in front of an abandoned school. The campus appeared desolate, featuring a vast circular sports field, a three-story white building, and in the distance, a red dormitory. There was not a single person in sight, not even a flying bird.

Upon closer inspection, noticeable traces of recent activity were evident in the grassy areas of the sports field. James checked his communication device, confirming that the signal he had previously received originated from this location.

"The captain must be inside!" James pointed towards the school.

"I can't believe it has turned into this." Olivia Turner gazed at the school with a complex expression.

"Are you familiar with this place?" James inquired, simultaneously checking his remaining equipment.

"This is my alma mater." Olivia Turner's complexion turned somewhat unpleasant, feeling uneasy inside.
