16 none of us will survive!

"Still not dead?" Clark pushed away anxiously, not wanting to be harmed by the heat wave.

The C-class zombie wailed miserably, almost like a grotesque howl. It incessantly slapped its chest, seemingly attempting to tear off its charred skin. However, all its efforts were futile.

The pain had made it unsteady on its feet. The human skin on its face fell off, revealing its true appearance. Clark finally had a chance to see clearly – the creature's face was covered in scars, evidence of countless brutal battles. Some wounds resembled deep grooves, almost exposing the bone.

To Clark's disappointment, the flames hadn't claimed its life. They merely burned two holes in its body, exposing the decaying flesh within.

After enduring the agony, the C-class zombie fixed its eyes on Clark, emitting strange roars as if it wanted to devour him alive.

Suddenly, a net flew down from the sky, covering the C-class zombie and swiftly tightening around it, resembling a dumpling being wrapped.

This scene was so familiar! Emma Kensington and Squad 191 had arrived!

"Damn, it really is a C-class!" Michael cursed, expressing both shock and excitement in his words.

Successfully hunting a C-class zombie meant a lot to him. It was an achievement, bringing personal honor and potentially a promotion.

"You actually managed to survive in its hands for so long!" Emma Kensington was surprised to see Clark alive and relatively uninjured.

Now armed with the equipment brought by Michael's team, Emma Kensington re-equipped herself, holding a flamethrower in her hands and additional weapons at her waist.

"Leave the rest to us!" Michael said with some pride. He had seen the wounds on the zombie and, though unsure how Clark had survived, he was confident in his ability to finish the job.

"David, don't cause conflicts. Put in some effort, and I'll make it big this time!" Michael was exceptionally excited.

"Take the injured to a safe place!" Emma Kensington intervened at this point. Olivia Turner may not have been seriously injured, but it was best to move her to a secure location.

Michael remained silent.

"Captain, I'll take care of it. Take her farther away, and I'll be back soon," David immediately offered.

"Go quickly and return quickly!" Michael, somewhat speechless, agreed.

Emma Kensington had something to say but refrained. Internal discord was not an option now.

The three of them unleashed flames from their flamethrowers, engulfing the C-class zombie.

"Burn, burn! Haha!" Michael was thrilled. "Pay attention, don't burn its head; I still have use for it!"

However, things did not unfold as they expected. The C-class zombie demonstrated remarkable resistance. The flames only left some burn marks on its skin, causing no real harm.

Clark had anticipated this. Even the burning function provided by the system couldn't kill this creature. Relying solely on flames wouldn't work either.

"Giggle, giggle!" The C-class zombie emitted a low, ominous growl.

"Not good, everyone be careful!" Clark felt a sudden sense of oppression for reasons unknown.

Two black figures suddenly rushed in from the periphery, heading straight for the C-class zombie.

"They're two B-grades!" Emma Kensington became tense.

The two B-class zombies reached out, forcefully tearing apart the tightly stretched net. In the process, their hands were cut by the steel wires, exposing bones, yet they seemed indifferent.

The previously trapped C-class zombie was freed! It appeared somewhat battered, covered in scratches from the steel wire, burn marks in some places, and especially the two black holes in its chest, nearly threatening its life.

The C-class zombie let out a low growl, and one of the B-class zombies approached.

The C-class zombie opened its mouth, biting directly into the neck of the B-class zombie. The B-class zombie's body visibly trembled, withering, and shrinking at a rapid pace.

When the C-class zombie released it, the B-class zombie collapsed to the ground, no longer moving.

After completing this, the injuries on the C-class zombie's body noticeably improved.

"It absorbs the life energy of its opponent to heal itself. Higher-level zombies are less likely to die because they can continuously replenish themselves with this method," Emma Kensington explained, surprised even though she knew about this phenomenon, as it was her first time witnessing it.

The remaining B-class zombie trembled in fear. Even as a zombie, it retained some remnants of humanity, terrified that it too might be drained.

Roaring, the C-class zombie turned and fled, clearly unwilling to stay and fight. The B-class zombie was being used as a tool to buy time.

"Damn it!" Michael cursed. Seeing the C-class zombie swiftly escaping, it was impossible to catch up. He pulled out a throwing knife and aimed it at the B-class zombie.

Targeted throwing knife!

The knife plunged into the zombie's neck, rendering it immobile. The three of them simultaneously unleashed flames, reducing the B-class zombie to ashes.

"It'll be troublesome once it recovers!" Emma Kensington expressed concern.

"Let's go back!" Clark, worried about Olivia Turner, spoke and headed in the direction where David and Olivia Turner had left, without waiting for others to react.

After walking for a while, they heard Olivia Turner's voice, "Don't come over, what do you want!"Clark sensed trouble and hurriedly ran over.

In the forest, Olivia Turner was hiding behind a tree, holding a wooden stick, looking terrified at David. At this moment, David was leering at Olivia Turner, even taking off his warrior uniform.

"Hehe, they're busy over there with the fight. Who has time to bother with us? I spotted you at first glance. It's been a while since I had some fun amid life and death!" David rubbed his hands and slowly approached Olivia Turner.

Olivia Turner couldn't possibly be his match, and her capture was only a matter of time. Thus, he felt no urgency.

"Don't come any closer!" Olivia Turner looked at David in fear, but her face quickly turned calm.

Before David could react, his shoulder felt as if caught in a vise, causing him to cry out in pain.

"Who the hell dares to ruin my good time!" David cursed, turning his head to see Clark. His expression turned even more fierce. As long as it wasn't Michael, he feared no one.

"Release me quickly, or I'll make sure you regret it with your life!" David, now only defiant in words, threatened.

Clark remained silent, continuously slapping him across the face until David resembled a bruised pig, losing two teeth in the process.

"That's enough!"

Just as Clark was about to continue, Michael shouted from behind. After all, David was his team member. Although he didn't know what was happening, seeing the terrified Olivia Turner, he instantly guessed. However, he had to save David, so he could only choose to yell.

"Hehe, you arrived just in time. Here's your great team member!" Clark lifted David and threw him towards Michael like tossing a ball. David fell to the ground, seeing Michael's unfriendly gaze, and panicked, begging for mercy.

"Captain, I didn't do anything. He suddenly attacked me. Don't believe that woman's words; they are colluding against me." David, now without regard for logic, had to resort to cunning arguments to survive.

"Shut up, you shameless bastard!" Michael cursed. He knew David's character well, realizing the guy's eyes would light up at the sight of a woman. However, he never expected him to have the audacity to act this way.

"Captain, is this how you manage your team? If this gets reported, you'll be in big trouble!" Emma Kensington took the opportunity to stab, expressing her disgust at David's previous advances. Now, witnessing his actions, she was naturally furious and directly threatened Michael.

Michael stared at David, then looked at Clark and Emma Kensington with a complicated expression. Olivia Turner was ignored.

"Now is not the time for internal conflicts. When I arrived, I received orders; everyone must evacuate within two days. Once the deadline is missed, we'll all perish along with this city.

Every soldier is a valuable force now!" Michael made it clear whose side he was on, siding with David. "Calculate the time. Before dark tomorrow, if we can't reach the designated assembly point, none of us will survive!"

The atmosphere instantly became tense.
