The Orphan

Kai is visited by non other than Paige who seems concerned but also a bit disturbed. "How come you're allowed to see a vicious murderer like me?" Kai asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Are you saying that you definitely killed Mrs. Wang?" Paige looked like she is about to throw up.

"I don't know Paige. Why are you here?" He asked because they are not exactly very close.

"I heard the Wang family fired the lawyer they hired fir you. I can help." She said with a bit of guilt in her eyes.

"Don't worry about it. How are you doing? I like the outfit." Kai ignored her bad acting. It seems someone sent her here to offer help but it is not her who is offering help. It should be Chen, that weak ling he probably feels guilty and wants to ease his guilty conscience. Kai is not about to bother with him.

"Kai, this is serious. Can you not be so relaxed about it?" Paige became stunned seeing Kai's reaction.

The truth is that Kai will no longer depend on anyone from the moment he heard the Wang family calling him a murderer he gave up on others. He can only lean on himself. He can only depend on himself.

"Is this because you don't trust me? I just want to help there is no plot or hidden threat in this offer." Paige pleaded but Kai didn't bother to give her an answer.

The day went by and just when Kai was beginning to think that he had jumped the gun with choosing Song Qingyu. He was taken to meet his lawyer. When he entered, he saw that Song Qingyu looked radiant like he had taken a swim in a youth fountain.

Kai knew that he had taken his pill and possibly awakened a supernatural ability. After taking his seat and getting chained on the floor and table, he greeted. "Good day."

"Is it?" Song Qingyu asked looking at the young man who seems better than how he had thought he will be.

"The Wang Family cut ties with you." The lawyer said.

"I know. It is the most logical thing to do." Kai said flatly.

"You are a rational person." Song Qingyu is rarely surprised in his line of work but to meet a young person who has such strong mental fortitude is rare.

"Is that why you gave me payment because you knew they might fire me?" Qingyu is surprised by his own conjecture, He remembers that Kai had said he will be on his own from then on. Did he anticipate his family's subsequent action? 

"About the pill, what exactly is it supposed to do?" Qingyu seems uneasy.

"It is to help clean your system of impurities and unlock your potential." Kai answered honestly. 

"My potential?" 

"Yes. Now can we talk about my defense?" Kai doesn't want to discuss the pill.

"I thought about it and they will probably send you to life in prison. But the worse case is if the opposing counsel asks for a death sentence." He said it but Kai didn't say anything and just listened. 

"In fact I was hoping to ask for bail. But the hearing will be in two days, the people have been striking and asking for your head on the end of a spike since yesterday after your Wang family's press conference."

"It is vey bad and the department will probably be very harsh on your sentencing." Qingyu sounded helpless. 

"I wouldn't worry about that, I didn't kill the old lady nor did I hit her. What you should worry about is the crime of falsifying a confession to the police and aiding and abetting a criminal." Kai finally made a decision seeing that his family didn't even come to explain themselves to him. 

They really treat him like a soft persimmon. Do they think that he will just lay down and take it like a good little boy who didn't persecute them when they left him alone after he was brutally slashed on his neck at that time? 

Kai's anger surges every time he thinks about it. They care so much for their precious family's reputation? He is going to drag them down to the muddy waters with him. 

He looked at the anxious Qingyu. He didn't let this man quit serving him so that he will show the Wang family that he does not need them. Even without their support he can still afford the best counsel in the country. 

Kai is an orphan, these are a group of people who have to depend on themselves. Having a loving adoptive family is nice, but he will not crumble and turn into dust just because daddy took back his trust fund. 

The same can not be said for the children who were born and raised by their their family. Kai will show them that taking back their support will not ruin him but if Kai takes back his support, that will ruin them. 

"Go home and enjoy your new body. Tomorrow, there's a storm coming." Kai stood up and asked to be brought back into his cell.

"We are not done. You have to listen to what plan I have for your defense." Qingyu stood up trying to get Kai to stay. 

"Like I said, you are preparing for the wrong case." Kai left the lawyer grinding his teeth in frustration. 

Song went back and became busy preparing for the defense of his stubborn client. He received a call from Wang Yan. 

"I know we forced you to defend Kai but you can rest assured now. Your services are no longer required."

"Wow, you say monkey dance I dance, you say monkey don't dance and I stop?" Qingyu laughed at Wang Yan in exasperation. 

"I heard you went by Kai's villa yesterday, what did you take from there?" 

"Payment." He answered nonchalantly. 

"And what exactly was this payment? It will be in your best interest to tell me the truth Mr. Song.

"It was a pill. A very effective pill, so you see, I don't need your approval to take this case because I have already received payment for it."

"I see." Yan dropped the call in frustration. 

"That damn Kai, he must have anticipated our move and persuaded Song Qingyu to continue as his lawyer even though he doesn't have our support anymore. 

"It doesn't matter, even the gods can't save him from prison now." Wang Ning said coolly. 

"That is because you don't know what Kai is capable of. I keep feeling like this is the calm before the storm." Wang Yan said remembering that Kai can make something like the smart bracelet. 

Kai got under the bed covers and retrieved all the video files from all three cameras and then waited for the night to enter his space and see what happened to the old woman.

He is very happy that he was able to make that network system so that allow him to use network inside his space. Now that he can not get access to the web while in a jail cell, he is still able to edit and save the files from the recording cameras he had sent out to the three locations.

Kai watched the video and sent it to the internet. Overnight, the people became confused of whether Kai is being targeted or Wang Ning is being targeted.

The video Kai sent consist of many parts.

Part one : "Are we going to let him stay there for so long without doing everything we can to get bail for him?" Wang Chen aske his father who had come back from a meeting with another doctor who couldn't cure his wife.

"We can't get help right now since the Wen's are blocking us. He is only a minor and Oma was not hurt too badly." Yan sat down after pouring a glass of scotch for himself.

"You don't feel guilty? He went there for you! You are the one who behaved poorly and hit Oma, Kai is just doing this so that you don't get scolded as the man who hit old women. How are you so relaxed?" Wang Chen asked his father with incredulity.

"Kai did this to gai favor. He doesn't care about your mother, he did this so that he will be in my good graces. Did you think he changed just because he doesn't remember the past? A leopard can not change it's spots." Wang Yan said gloomily.

"How can you say that? I gave him my word that we can start over, that I will be his big brother." Chan said with heartache.

"He will be back don't worry. I have one last card to play." Wang Yan smirked arrogantly as he drank his alcohol.

Part two is the scene of Wang Ning entering the hospital window in the 11th floor like it is nothing and then proceeded to tell Oma how the yogurt is poisoned. The last sentence she said with a murderous smile. "Your death is very useful for me, your darling daughter." Made the people watching have goosebumps.

Part three : "Father, we can't abandon Kai. He did this for you, for us. So that we don't get overwhelmed and the company doesn't suffer." Wang Chen spoke with an anxious expression.

"Do you think I want to? The only other option is for me to take his place but if I do that what happens next will be a disaster. The company will go bankrupt and your mother will die from sadness." Wang Yan confessed.

"We don't have to do it like this even if we can't help him, should we kick him when he is down like this? You know that he is a one in ten thousand genius right? If we do this..." Wang Chen held his head.

"We will have to get rid of him completely before he grows more powerful and destroy us."

"My god!" Wang Chen took a glass from his father.

"There is no other way. Who knew that evil woman would die just like that? Didn't they say evil people live forever?"

"I gave him my word.." Chen is still struggling with the decision.

"This will not be the last time you break your word in the name of this family son. Buckle up."

In this video the two people are wearing the same outfits they were wearing in the press conference a few hours ago. Kai guided the recording devices to come back to him.

Using his recently required skills he make the video appear on cellphones, computers, and even on news channels on a loop for a few hours. The video can not be taken down even by the most skilled. To take it down the server will have to take down all the websites and channels that were bugged by Kai.

The whole country is buzzing with requests for Kai's release the department of justice website crashed in only a few hours.

The police station had protesters by the next morning, Kai's fat face on large posters with the word innocent written in bold letters.

Just the day before, he was being booed and demanded he be executed for his heinous crimes. This case has had ups and downs, people haven't had time to get used to all the changes. But everyone can hear the resounding slap on the faces of the Wang family. 

After this happened it was like the gates of hell opened and all the wolves in the dark bared their fangs on the Wang corporation. The first to go is the stock price. Many investors pulled out all their investment which included the banks. Half a day later, the police released a statement of arrest for Wang Ning who has disappeared.
