Murderer

Kai is pulled out of his meditation by the sound of footsteps walking towards his cell. He is confused because it is now the middle of the night.

He did not move but remained still. The person entered stealthily and took out a pill from his pocket, he then walked towards Kai trying to stuff the pill into his mouth but a second later Kai disappeared from the bed and appeared behind the man.

He kicked the man on his legs and when he went down, Kai took the pill and stuffed it into the man's mouth instead. He then closed his mouth before he could scream and let him swallow the pill. When he is done, the man didn't die or suffer any pain, making Kai very curious.

He used his mind powers and saw a figure giving the man money and a pill to give to Kai. When the man asked what the pill does, she said it will prevent Kai from being a threat in the future. Kai inserted his spirit power and studied the result of taking this pill.

It blocked the man's meridians where the supernatural abilities travel. If this is clogged or even destroyed, the man will never be able to awaken his supernatural abilities in the future. How fascinating...

Kai saw that the man is feeling fatigue, he let him go and since he thinks his face had not been revealed he ran away from the cell thanking the stars that pill was not a fast working poison. The man went to the hospital for a checkup.

Kai knew that someone dangerous is targeting him, he decided to learn another spell which is a destructive lightning attack that will melt a person's flesh off their bones even if a small attack landed. For the first time he covered and pretended to sleep.

He then took a cleaning robot that was plastered with the same face as him and he went into the space to practice the spell. Kai built dummies and fired his attack on them. He didn't want to use his robots.

The more his cultivation increases the more time he can spend in the space while a small amount of time moves outside.

After practicing for a while he can now send a small spark that will not be put out once it lands on any surface it reminds him of wild fire powder in the book of formulas. It is a very powerful lightning spell that takes most people years to master. Kai has not mastered the spell because he can not call the spell back after casting it.

This will be used when his back is against the wall. He spent the rest of the hours soaking in the painful medical bath. He got ready and put on the same clothes and then exchanged with the robot.

Kai took back all his robots in the villa before leaving. Now even the tow that are used to being at home are working inside the space.

Kai feels like he has his family everywhere he goes which is great. When Kai got out of the space, his physique has become as strong as someone who is at the peak of qi refining.

The gates of his cell opened and he is dragged to the interrogation room without even being greeted. The aura of the person handling him is very fierce as if Kai has done something to him personally.

His hands and feet handcuffed, when he got to the interrogation room he is thrown in the metal chair and the feet cuffed to the floor while the hands are cuffed to the metal table. Kai became disoriented with the clanking sound from the chains.

By the time he came to his senses he is hit by the chilling temperature of the room. "What are these people doing? Trying to freeze me to death?" 

Kai looked at the person in front of him who is looking at him with a gloomy aura. "Mr. Song, you look as handsome as the day I first saw you." Kai said in a good mood, his physical strength has increased and his body feels lighter. 

"I am your lawyer now and the case has just gotten very complicated. The Wang old Madame is dead. According to reports, she succumbed to her wounds." Song Qingyu said in low spirit. He had taken the sandwich and used his connections to have it tested and it indeed contained saliva and a poisonous substance. 

Originally he was going to come here and try to convince the boy to let him represent him but then the news of the old lady's death reached him. He contemplated leaving this child but he remembered the boy's clear eyes and that beautiful face. 

Kai felt a shortness of breath, his back got covered in sweat and he stared at Song Qingyu in a daze. This is the worst thing to happen, if the woman is dead and it is said she died because he hit her, then he is definitely going to jail for a long time.

"The state is pressing murder charges and they will push for you to be charged as an adult." Song delivered bad news after bad news not giving Kai any chance to process. 

Kai had a panic attack. It is comical that a strong guy like him has an episode of panic attacks but it happened and Song had to request for a private meeting with just the two of them.

"This is bad. I didn't sign up for murder!" Kai slapped the table losing his bearings.

"Calm down. You are still a minor we just need to show the judge that you are sorry and that you won't do it again." Song tried to rationalize and offer solutions but Kai is not listening to him.

Kai felt like he is being targeted. Something about the old lady's sudden death doesn't sit right with him. That woman may have been hurt but she would have been fine after a bit of rest. Which begs the question.

"Who did this?" He has a feeling the same person sent that officer into his cell the other night. Kai suddenly started laughing when he remembered the three cameras he had sent out of boredom.

"You want to play crazy?" Song thinks Kai is trying to act like a lunatic to get the sentence lowered.

Kai ignored his question and stood up. "Put your hand in my right pocket. Kai instructed. Song knows that people are searched thoroughly before entering the holding cell but seeing Kai's expression he did it anyways.

He is surprised when his hand comes out with a gold and red colored ring. It has a red lightning bolt and small words around the body of the ring saying red bolt.

Kai had made a commander's ring incase he gets a general to send to battle. That person will be able to use the ring and lead his army. He spend a small amount of time last night programming this one to have access to the villa.

"What a weird looking trinket." Song looked at the ring in wonder.

"That will grant you access to my villa. The payment for your services is on the kitchen counter. Take it, now go."

"What? I don't need your p..."

"Take it, it's my payment for your services if you refuse it then don't come back. After today, I am on my own." Kai said and stood up so he can be taken away.

"What do you mean 'on your own'? The Wang family..."

"Just do it. You'll thank me later. Don't waste it." Song stood up and left. He is not sure about helping this boy but he really doesn't feel like the boy killed someone. If he did it was an accident.

Song Qingyu has always believed in taking cases based on his gut and this gut is telling him this boy was just trying to help and is now in a quagmire.

Song Qingyu arrived at the villa and the doors opened as they sense the 'key' in Song Qingyu's hand.

He saw a bottle with one white pill inside. "Don't waste it"

Song remembered the friend who can check if the pill is poisonous and made a call.

Kai in the cell is meditating but he can't focus because as a smart person he can tell the most logical decision the Wang family will make at this point to protect their own interests.

As if on cue, the press conference started. The Wang father, son and daughter all came to face the world together and announce their stand.

The press conference was brief. "When I was young my father married another woman as soon as mother died and I was not happy, but over the years she and I became a family even though we had our differences." Wang Yan said with a sad expression.

"I was saddened to know that a son I raised have taken a life. The fact that the life he took was that of my own family breaks my heart even more. The Wang family will not stand with a murderer of our own family member. As of today, Wang Kai will have nothing to do with the Wang family."

Kai heard the TV because someone wanted him to hear that he is being abandoned by his so called family. Kai is not surprised even as he is heartbroken at this. He knew the moment he became a murder suspect, the Wang family had to save themselves.

There is nothing more soul crushing for an orphan than to feel abandoned and discarded. Kai doesn't have memories of being in an orphanage and then being adopted by the Wang family but he was Ang Kai a moment ago and now he is just Kai.

Kai is a genius with other things but emotions are not something he understands but now he at this moment he can feel his usually calm heart rippling.

He is someone who spends all his time thinking of ways to make his family safer should the apocalypse descend. At first he was only making things out of boredom and the push from the invisible helper.

Kai didn't know that being discarded by his family would hurt so much. He had isolated himself at that time so that he will not be saddened by his family's scornful looks at the disgust with which they would look at him whenever they crossed paths. 

He can feel his heart getting shattered. "Brother." He called in heartache, his thoughts are being eroded by darkness.

He had been seated in the same position for over an hour. His emotions are fluctuating and spiraling out of control. What should he do? Escape? And go where? Go to jail? But, Kai is sure that something sinister is lurking in the shadows.

Should he wait and see what happens? He has ways to escape if they charge him with the death penalty. But if they send him to jail it won't be su h a bad thing. Kai doesn't have anyone anymore.

Escaping just to go and live in some mountain will be regressing back to how he was when he first woke up. His family disappointed him but Kai wants to be a person who moves forward. He also doesn't want to be a wanted criminal.

He still needs to know who is this person targeting him. What do they want? Is it to destroy the Wang family? Highly unlikely since the Wang family has the option to discard him.

Is it to destroy him? Then that means he will be in danger of getting a death penalty. This is a person who is very clever and insidious.

"You seem sad." An amused voice came from the front of the gate of Kai's cell.

Kai didn't answer, he is lost in his thoughts. The outside world is nothing but an echo.

"I heard you lost all your memories, does that mean you don't remember me?" Seeing that the person in front of her is not acknowledging her, she chuckled.

"How lucky. You get to forget but I have t remember too much. That is why you are going to suffer...because I remember....everything." The voice turned gloomy with a tinge of murderous intent.
