A Plot
Kai is in the holding cell with a single bed, a toilet and a bar-gate for a door. Kai doesn't mind, he remembers seeing a holding cell with 8 people inside when he watched a movies once.
He mediate the whole night and woke up refreshed the next morning. Although he is in jail, he doesn't seem very concerned about it. In fact, when they didn't bring him food the night before and the next morning he didn't show any signs of dissatisfaction.
At 10 in the morning, there is no one coming to interrogate him so he meditated on the bed. Last night while he stood on the camera's blind spot, he released three bug sized camera and let one of them fly all the way to the hospital. There is a GPS and clear command to go to this location and follow this person.
The other went to the Wang residence while the last one went to follow his elder brother around. It is easier when the person being followed is wearing the smart bracelet. Kai instructed the camera to stay a few meters away and record everything around the elder brother.
Kai did this mostly because he is bored and wants to see the old woman's angry face when she realized her plan to disgrace Wang Yan didn't work.
Kai saw the woman sleeping on the bed and finally stopped searching the location of the woman. Just in time for a reporter to enter and the woman opened her eyes looking straight at the young man.
"Don't be alarmed I am sent by Wen Fan he said you have something to tell me? I work for xxxx newspaper." The young man gave her an ID card.
"They said the adopted son went to the police and admitted to hitting you that day. He blamed you for this mother's sickness which resulted in him being kicked out of the house years ago." The reporter put a recording device on the table to show her she is being recorded.
"That boy was not in the room when it happened. He was outside and only rushed it to help Wang Chen restrain Wang Yan after he had hit me multiple times on the face taking out several of my teeth. Don't tell me the police are buying this nonsense." She rolled her eyes.
"If it really was him who hit me, my husband would have reported him as soon as I woke up." She sneered. She had told her husband who hit his but the man had refused to call the police for a full week before relenting.
"That Kai has always longed for affection of his family so of course he confessed to earn his fathers affection. It's a lie, he should be arrested for deceiving the police." She ranted in outrage.
"Wang Yan backed him up and now he is in a holding cell while Wang Yan went home to be with his wife." The reporter rubbed salt. He turned off the recorder and looked at the woman.
"He asked me to tell you if you can offer him something useful he will make sure that the right person ends up in jail." The reporter said.
Old Madame's eyes lit up after hearing that. "The one who came up with the beauty pill formula is the rat in the holding cell." She told the reporter who left with surprise at the news.
Kai can only view the videos when he is standing at the blind spot of the camera but he hasn't viewed it since it is too risky.
At 12 noon, the police officer gave him a sandwich and a glass of water. Kai didn't touch it. The food gave him a bad feeling somehow and when he sent his spirit power in the sandwich he became stunned.
In the monitoring room a group of people watched as the sandwich sat on the ground until it hardened but Kai didn't touch it. The poison is to kill him temporarily but he will wake up three days later, at that time he will already be in a secure location.
At 15:00 a man wearing a three piece purple suit stepped in front of his cell. Kai looked at the man with curiosity. He had accessed the data base of the country's case records when he was still learning how to hack secure databases. Therefore, he recognizes the man in front of him.
"Mr. Song Qingyu. The world class lawyer in the country, what brings you here?" Kai smiled and stood up.
The man named Qing Yu looked surprised at being recognized by Wang Kai. Noticing Kai's state of mind, he realized their plan to make the young man wait so he will be anxious will not work here. This young man has a formidable mental fortitude.
"Forgive me if I am not able to receive you properly." He continues to speak politely as if he is not held up in a prison cell, most youngsters would be very anxious at this time.
"I am surprised you know me." The man smiled back and commented. He might be smiling but his eyes are not friendly.
"You do stand out." Kai complimented.
"How so?" Song Qingyu aske tilting his head.
"You defended a serial bank robber and managed to get him 5 years after she stole billions in a span of ten years. She also stole from four powerful nations and they couldn't find any trace until she willingly surrendered in the Chinese embassy inside France soil." Kai recalled the information in the police database.
"Do you just know this from the top of your head or...?" Startled, Song Qingyu felt this young man is a threat.
"I was bored so I snooped. What brings you here?" Kai chuckle.
"Someone wants me to defend you." Song answered honestly.
"Hehe.. I thought you have a sense of honor? Why would you defend someone who hit an old grandma?" Kai asked because he can feel that the man has malice towards him.
"They are not giving me much of a choice." The man said with clenched teeth.
"Who would this person be?" Kai asked intrigued.
"They said not to say their identity." He said flatly.
"Then I'm afraid that under the law 289. 13 of 1944, I refuse your council." Kai returned to his temporary bed and began meditating again.
The lawyer gritted his teeth in frustration. They are forcing him, a world class renowned lawyer to represent someone who did something that goes against his principles but the person whom he is supposed to represent is refusing him.
"On what grounds? If I may ask." Song tried to calm himself down and asked.
"On the grounds of your thick hostility towards me. When I face the judge I will be going to war for my freedom. How can I give my back to you knowing you are just itching to plunge a dagger through it?" Kai asked the man who started laughing in anger.
"I do not bring feelings in court." He said with confidence.
"For me, feelings are everything. In any case, you can go back. I won't be needing your help." Kai insisted.
Song Qingyu felt his phone vibrate and after answering it he walked towards Kai. He gave his phone to the boy who up close is very beautiful for someone who used to be obese.
Kai took the phone from the stunned man.
"Hello."
"Accept the man's council."
"No."
"Wait, he is right, feelings have no place in the adult world Kai. Accept the man." Wang Chen said but Kai just Chuckled.
"Elder brother, there is a sandwich on the floor of my cell and a glass of water. I haven't touched it but I can tell you what's inside." Kai sounded relaxed, not at all like he is being held captive.
"Kai..."
"A slice of tomato, a beef petty, the source is mayonnaise with shredded mushrooms and a mouthful of spit. There is also poison, it will enter my bloodstream in two minutes after I eat it, then it will clot inside my veins making my heart organ swell and then I will die from what will look like a heart failure." Kai explained calmly.
Wang Chen sat down on the chair losing feeling in his legs. Someone has already sent poison to kill Kai? If he dies from a heart related illness it will show in his medical records that he had a heart problem in the past because of his weight and it will be ruled as a relapse.
"Kai..."
"I know that you wear a three piece suit and go to work with grown ups dealing with stressful situations where you have to isolate your personal feelings in order to be objective. But elder brother I am just a kid, feelings are everything to me." He dropped the call and gave it back to the struck dumb Song Qingyu.
Looking at the sandwich collecting dust on the ground Song Qingyu wanted to take it and check if what he said about it is true.
"You're a lawyer and need proof beyond reasonable doubts. Go ahead and take it." Kai smiled.
The absolute confidence in those black eyes made even Song Qingyu feel that this sandwich is indeed poisoned. He took it with him in the end.
Kai went back to his meditation leaving a group of people in the monitoring room baffled at how he knew about that chemical poison in the sandwich.
Wen Jun also got the feed back and realized that maybe the adopted son of his old rival is not so simple after all. He left the precinct to formulate a new plan.
He was skeptical at first but now he is sure the information is true. This boy created the beauty pill and may be a medical genius that comes only once in three generations.
Meanwhile in the Wang family, Wang Chen and Wang Yan are having a meeting about a plan of action to get Kai out of there since he is already being targeted.
They are having trouble hiring the local people even their own lawyers have been scared off from representing Kai. It seems the Wen family is very adamant on persecuting the Wang family starting with Wang Kai.
What they don't know is that Wen Jun is trying to steal Wang Kai from them. He wants to make it seem like they don't care about Wang Kai at all and then when the hot headed Wang Kai has no one in his corner, he will offer his help.
But after hearing what happened today, for the first time he knows it is not going to be easy.
Old Madam Wang is eating an imported fruit yogurt that she loves very much. She is not aware that someone has tempered with her food. As soon as she finished eating, she felt like she can not breath. "Hehe.." A dark chuckle sounded from the window.
"Dear grandmother, how have you been? I hear you found yourself at the end of Kai's wrath?" Wang Ning entered wearing a black outfit with a mask covering her face. As soon as she came inside, she took it off and let the spiteful woman on the bed see the one who took her life.
Old Madam Wang wanted to scream and call someone but she found that her earlier wounds are suddenly opening up and she is bleeding profusely on the bed. She quickly lost strength and her breathing became shallow and labored.
She ingested a solution that will close the lungs but the autopsy will never detect it.
Wang Ning looked at old Madame with a pair of cold eyes. "When I was 12 I asked you to come to my school, there was a project for grandmothers and granddaughters, do you remember?"
"I suppose you can't, What you are experiencing now is your lungs failing to help you breath. Did you know that when someone can not provide air to their system their brains get damaged? It so peculiar but I'm sure you don't have time to learn it."
"I am killing you so that Kai will go down for murder. I want to make him feel like he is alone in the world, when he is driven to the point of madness by his anguish, only then will I grant him a merciful death."
"Bye bye...your death is very useful for me. Your darling granddaughter." She smiled a cruel smile and disappeared from the window not knowing a small bug like camera recorded her actions and words perfectly.
