APOCALYPSE ONLINE: I Became Over Powered Thanks To My Clones

Alice received an invitation from her friend Vanessa to join a new open-world VRMMO. Despite Alice's inclination to laziness, Vanessa's insistence compelled her to participate. "Hey, there's a skill that lets me create clones of myself," Alice mused, her interest piqued. "I absolutely need to get my hands on this skill." With a mischievous laugh, she contemplated the possibilities of having free helpers through her clones. *[Ding! Your Clone has practiced [Sword Arts] while you were offline. You've gained 1,231 experience points in your [Sword Arts] skill.]* *[Ding! Your Clone has been busy chopping down 2,567 trees and gathering 4,152 pieces of wood during your offline time. Your [Wood Chopping] skill has gained 5,321 experience points.]* *[Ding! Your Clone has successfully defeated 100 level 1 Slimes, granting you 100 EXP.]* While other players grappled with the challenges of surviving in the game's apocalyptic setting, Alice's clones industriously farmed resources in the nearby vicinity. "Hmm... What an intriguing game!" she thought, recognizing the unique advantage her clones provided. ==========================

Volume 2 Chapter 40: Combination Spell an The Limit

[Author's Note: Sorry for not posting chapters. I just can't get the motivation to write. This should be the last chapter where I will include some parts of the previous chapter, but don't worry, I will keep the word count the same.]

[Author's Note: For bonus chapters, the goal every week is:

- 25 Power Stones

- 50 Power Stones]

Volume 2 Chapter 40: Combination Spell an The Limit

A few seconds later, the crescent blood wave eventually ran out of mana and dissipated. This revealed a deep cut in the target's bullseye. As the cut extended away from the bullseye, it gradually became shallower and shallower.

After evaluating the damage her spell caused to the target, Carmilla decided to determine the cost of the crescent blood wave, or "Blood Slash" as a temporary short name, by accessing her own status screen.

[Name: Carmilla]

[Race: Vampire]

[Title/s: N/A]

[Level: 3]

[Exp: 8/40]

[HP: 60/60]

[MP: 27/36]

============================

After seeing that a quarter of her mana was missing, she frowned upon seeing this since it meant she cannot continuously cast it. She would only be able to cast the crescent blood wave spell 4 times before her mana is drained to zero. She will have to wait for her mana to regenerate, which will only take a couple of seconds—precisely 2 seconds or more—before her mana is refilled to full.

Casting the crescent blood wave spell 4 times in rapid succession and casting multiple spells would be impossible for the current Carmilla. She would need more than a couple of seconds to cast the crescent blood wave spell, so after casting one, her mana would be fully refilled long before she could cast another one.

The only way she could increase her efficiency in casting her spell was to acquire a skill that allowed her to multicast several spells at the same time, or a skill that enabled her to instantaneously cast a spell, or to train her spell casting speed, which would take a long time.

Vespera: "You overdid it, you know, but since you hit the target's bullseye, even though it's a waste of mana, I guess it's fine."

After that comment, the four of them doubled their current distance to their target from 40 meters away to 80 meters.

Vespera then takes her position before closing her eyes, which is quite intriguing since in the last two rounds Vespera didn't need to focus so much that she needed to close her eyes.

Since she completed casting a blood arrow in under half a minute, which is too long to be practical in a high-speed fight, but based on their observations, Vespera was quite at ease in her spellcasting during the last two rounds. However, now that she was casting a new spell they had not seen before, she seemed different.

And they are still suspecting that Vespera can cast a blood arrow spell in less than a second, and the lightning javelin spell she used in the second round in under 2 seconds or less.

That is if Vespera was in her prime state. However, since the dungeon already deemed that they are engaging in combat, the dungeon has sealed most of Vespera's skills and adjusted her levels and stats when she was level 5.

But all of Vespera's stats were a bit higher than the current Carmilla, who is a pure-blood vampire. Especially Vespera's INT and MAG stats were three times higher than Carmilla's. The reason Vespera's INT and MAG stats are much higher than Carmilla's is due to her dedication to increasing those stats, coupled with her incredible talent that encompasses everything about magic. This made it easy for her to increase those stats beyond the norm, except for her magic defense.

So compared to Daniel even in his peak strength who can't cast a bunch of spell instantly just show how monstrous Vespera's magic talent.

After a few seconds pass, that is when Vespera opens her eyes, and a brown magic circle starts to materialize. That very same magic circle then starts to increase in size, but the new color of the extended edge of the magic circle is different, having a light green color.

As the two-colored magic circle solidifies in front of her, they hear Vespera say the type and name of the spell.

Vespera: "[Compound Spell: Drill]"

Slowly, a stone spike starts to emerge out of the brown part of the magic circle, followed by a spinning wind emanating from the light green magic circle.

The spinning wind was a bit slow at the start, resembling a weak gust of wind and appearing more like decoration.

When the stone spike was fully emerged out of the brown magic circle, the wind spinning around it was now coated the stone spike, causing it to spin along with the wind.

Now the three of them knew why Vespera called the spell 'Drill,' based on the appearance of the stone spike spinning due to the wind.

Vespera then controls the spinning stone spike, aiming it towards the target.

It then flew towards the target much faster than they expected relative to the size of the spinning stone spike, but Carmilla attributed its fast speed to the wind around it. However, it was still a bit slower than the lightning javelin spell Vespera had cast earlier.

The wind around the stone spike first made contact with the target's bullseye, but the spinning wind around the stone spike rapidly weakened with a fast pace while drilling the target. A moment later, the spinning wind dispersed after drilling the target's bullseye.

While the spell was drilling into the target's bullseye, several rock fragments flew around.

The stone spike was 50% or more deep in the wall when it gradually started to lose all of its momentum.

Vespera: "That's another perfect score for me, and this seems to be my current limit with my skills being stuck at level 5."

The last part was a mumble to herself, so the trio didn't hear what Vespera just say those infuriating words. However, the three of them intuitively knew that no normal level 5 should be able to mimic what Vespera just did.

Even though Vespera has her original level, stats, skills, and experience as a foundation, no normal level 5 should have enough mana to cast a combination spell like what Vespera did. This just shows how abnormal Vespera is, from the amount of mana she has to her control over it, compared to a normal or run the mill level 5.

The three of them wanted to talk about the spell Vespera just showed them, but Vespera had already stepped aside and was waiting for one of the three of them to take the spot so that they could finish this already.

That's when Carmilla suddenly pushed Pepper forward, who was about to ask Vespera about any information on the spell she just casted, while Eve would be taking her turn, that's what she thought and that is what they agreed upon earlier on their discussion.
