APOCALYPSE ONLINE: I Became Over Powered Thanks To My Clones

Alice received an invitation from her friend Vanessa to join a new open-world VRMMO. Despite Alice's inclination to laziness, Vanessa's insistence compelled her to participate. "Hey, there's a skill that lets me create clones of myself," Alice mused, her interest piqued. "I absolutely need to get my hands on this skill." With a mischievous laugh, she contemplated the possibilities of having free helpers through her clones. *[Ding! Your Clone has practiced [Sword Arts] while you were offline. You've gained 1,231 experience points in your [Sword Arts] skill.]* *[Ding! Your Clone has been busy chopping down 2,567 trees and gathering 4,152 pieces of wood during your offline time. Your [Wood Chopping] skill has gained 5,321 experience points.]* *[Ding! Your Clone has successfully defeated 100 level 1 Slimes, granting you 100 EXP.]* While other players grappled with the challenges of surviving in the game's apocalyptic setting, Alice's clones industriously farmed resources in the nearby vicinity. "Hmm... What an intriguing game!" she thought, recognizing the unique advantage her clones provided. ==========================

Volume 2 Chapter 10: The Ignored Notification

Tria: "It's because like the other creators of the artifact set she died even though she is from the [Elf] race that have a very long lifespan compared to the other races especially when she have a hind of [High Elf] bloodline even if she only have 1% of [High Elf] bloodline it should have added a 100 more years to her natural lifespan but no one can still veat the passage of time unless someone belong into a immortal race which will never die due to being too old unless they are killed but since we are also a immortal race so don't worry of dying of old age"

================================

After hearing Tria's last sentence, Carmilla couldn't help but think that it must be nice to have a very long lifespan. Tria talked about lifespan a lot, and if she also had a very long lifespan, she could do everything she liked.

Unfortunately, even though she belongs to the [Vampire] race inside the game, with an almost unlimited lifespan, she is still a human outside the game, with a typical lifespan of at least 75 years. If she is lucky and maintains a very healthy lifestyle, she might live to be 90 or even over 100 years old.

Upon realizing that she might not live past 100 years old or even reach 90, she couldn't help but ponder what if the supernatural were real – vampires and other supernatural races existing. What if she were born as a vampire with an almost unlimited lifespan, or as another supernatural being with a life expectancy of 500 or even 1000 years? That would be sufficient for her.

Since she'd eventually grow bored after living for so long and experiencing everything, she couldn't help but remember a certain saying about immortality: 'Immortality is both a blessing and a curse.'

Carmilla couldn't help but shiver at the thought of outliving her mother, father, and even her best friend Vanessa. Witnessing humanity's extinction, though it sounded bleak, was merely the tip of the iceberg when it came to the curse of immortality.

Since she would also witness the sun transform into a red giant and slowly watch the stars die off one by one, making the universe plunge into total darkness, she would be utterly alone. Anyone would go insane if that happened to them.

Carmilla shook her head to dispel those 'what if' scenarios and asked Tria about the current location of the artifact set.

Carmilla: "So, if your [Elf] friend has passed away, and she was the one among all the artifact creators with the longest lifespan, where is the artifact set now?"

Tria: "Before she passed away, she entrusted it to the main me. After the main me created the trial dungeons, she placed one of each artifact in different random dungeons, all of this is the information guided by the memories I inherited from her. And, if I may say, you're quite lucky. First, not only were you born a pure-blood vampire, but you also possess a [Unique Skill] perfectly suited to you. It will greatly aid you from the start and retain its value even as you grow more powerful. Third, your luck extends to being born inside this dungeon. Lastly, I have one of the set artifacts we were just talking about. Mind you, not all of the dungeons created by the main have some part of the artifact set. Now that I think about it, are you sure you're really a vampire and not some kind of a daughter of the goddess of luck, and perhaps a "Demigod" disguised as a vampire?"

Being suspected by Tria of being a "Demigod" and a daughter of the goddess of luck herself, Carmilla was inclined to respond. Not everything Tria said was solely due to luck, as she had used the highest character creation card that Vanessa had given her.

Carmilla had amassed a wealth of skill points from the character creation card to spend, and of which she used to acquire the [Clone] skill. Additionally, her status as a pure-blood vampire was a matter not to be dismissed.

Carmilla lacked concrete evidence, but she held a suspicion that her sudden transformation into a pure-blood vampire might be attributed to unlocking all the racial skills of the vampire race before she began playing.

Lastly, being spawned in Tria's dungeon, rather than some other dark cave or abandoned mansion, and with Tria's dungeon containing one of the artifact sets, could only be described as incredibly fortunate on her part.

However, Carmilla couldn't voice these thoughts to Tria because she wasn't real; she was merely a creation controlled by a sophisticated AI designed to enhance the game's realism. The AI, though advanced, remained limited in its ability to comprehend what lay beyond the game.

Expressing these thoughts to Tria would prove futile and could potentially cause confusion in Tria's AI or even introduce bugs in her AI system. Carmilla, therefore, opted to change the topic.

Carmilla: "If one of the artifact sets is in your possession, can I obtain it? And if so, how do I go about earning it?"

Tria: "Yes, you can earn it, but to obtain it, you'll need to clear this dungeon first. And just to clarify, I want to make sure that none of you think I'll be the final boss – I won't be. I serve more as an administrator for this entire dungeon."

Pepper, who had been ignoring the entire conversation between Tria and Carmilla, grew increasingly bored with the discussion about the creators of the artifact sets.

But when she heard that they could obtain the artifact set they were discussing as a reward upon completing the entire trial, her interest was piqued.

Pepper: "How do we complete this dungeon trial?"

Tria: "Impatient, aren't we? I was just about to get on to that. To complete this trial, you'll need to defeat three level 5 enemies that I'll summon for you to face in combat."

The trio was taken aback upon learning that they only needed to battle three level 5 enemies. They had expected to face a formidable boss, given the powerful artifact at stake.

That's when Carmilla remembered the panel that had appeared some time ago, indicating that she had completed some kind of hidden quest and it seemed that she have received a new quest that time too.

So she opened the notification logs to check what it said, as she had simply ignored it at the time.
