Trying to Deceive Me?

Henry's next target is set on the massive horde of zombies approaching from the north, due to arrive in three days. That's where the real bounty lies!

Hundreds of thousands in the horde... that's practically a field of Energy Cores. Just the thought is a bit thrilling! However, Henry can't be careless. He needs to prepare thoroughly in advance!

After upgrading his talents, Henry approached the person tied to the tree. This individual, who was once quite strong, now had pale lips and struggled to speak. Despite being a strong individual himself, Henry had easily caught up with him after he ran a distance, and even managed to block sniper bullets with a knife! This level of strength must have already surpassed human limits!

What's more terrifying is... Henry, who was already abnormally strong, had just scoured a whole playground of Energy Cores and obtained items from a level three supply crate. His power is bound to increase significantly more!

Facing such a formidable killer, he had absolutely no chance to fight back. If Henry wanted to kill him, it would be as simple as crushing a bug!

"Next, I'll ask and you'll answer! Got it?" Henry asked ominously.

"Under-understood!!" the man, Niehebu, stammered. "My name is Niehebu! I'll answer whatever you ask, I definitely won't deceive you!"

"Just please don't kill me!" Niehebu said nervously.

"Where did you come from?" Henry asked.

"We were originally in the survivor's area!" Niehebu replied. "We've been hiding in the cafeteria these past few days, occasionally going out to scout."

"Today, we saw on the area channel that you were clearing the horde... that's when we came out!"

"That big guy is our leader, he said we could take advantage of your weakness to snatch some spoils of war..."

"But I was totally against it! You have to believe me!" Niehebu quickly added, not forgetting to defend himself.

"Where is the food in the cafeteria?" Henry continued.

"There wasn't much food in the cafeteria to begin with, just some semi-finished products in the back kitchen!"

"But many are spoiled and covered with red mushrooms!"

"We saw a room with a locked door, it seemed to be the cafeteria's storage room!"

"There should be food there!"

"We were planning to break in, but we were afraid of attracting zombies, so we haven't dared to act!"

"There should still be a lot of food there, I can take you there! I know the way!" Niehebu hurriedly showed his loyalty, fearing that failing to prove his value might result in Henry disposing of him casually.

"Alright, lead the way!" Henry said. "Don't try any tricks!"

Henry nodded and tugged at the rope tying Niehebu. With a snap, the rope, as thick as a little finger, broke effortlessly, showing his extraordinary strength.

Niehebu nodded like a frightened chick, then obediently led the way.

Most of the zombies in the campus had been drawn away by the recent loud explosions. At this moment, the corridors were almost free of any zombie presence.

Occasionally, a few weaker zombies were blocked by the classroom windows, their pale hands frantically beating against the glass, making a series of popping sounds.

Henry glanced around the surroundings.

A prompt immediately popped up:

There are 23 weak zombies in Building 7... they pose no threat to you...

There are 15 weak zombies in the library... they pose no threat to you...

There are 8 unclothed male zombies in the bathhouse, if you have a special interest, you might consider visiting...

Such a number of zombies isn't even enough to fill the gaps between teeth. With Henry's previous strength, ordinary zombies could no longer harm him. He could easily eliminate Type II infected like Crawlers.

Now, having leveled up twice, Henry's strength was incomparable to before. As long as there were no Behemoth-like monstrously strong zombies, there wouldn't be any problems.

Soon, the two reached the back door of the cafeteria.

"This is it, through here is the kitchen's cold storage and storage room!" Niehebu explained.

"With the power outage, the condition of the items in the cold storage might be uncertain, but the food in the storage room is definitely still there!"

"I've done what we agreed upon, so I can leave now, right?" Niehebu asked with a nervous smile.

"Is it safe in there?" Henry asked.

"Safe, of course, it's safe, we've been hiding here, and we've cleaned out all the zombies!" Niehebu quickly explained. "There's not a single zombie inside, how could it be unsafe?!"

However, the prompt in front of Henry displayed something else:

Behind the door, there are thirty ravenous zombies, they pose no threat to you...

Hah... this guy is full of lies!

"Since it's safe, you go in first then!" Henry said.

"Ah? I don't—" Niehebu began, but Henry had no intention of giving him a chance to explain.

Grabbing him by the neck with one hand, as easily as lifting a small chick, Henry lifted him off the ground. Then, with his other hand, he opened the back door of the cafeteria.

He threw Niehebu inside!

"I was wrong, please forgive me!" Niehebu pleaded. "I was just joking with you..."

Niehebu's words were cut short as his throat was bitten through.

Immediately afterward, there was the sound of muscles being torn apart and zombies chewing on raw flesh. This continued until there was complete silence inside. Henry waited another 25 seconds before he opened the door. By then... the number of zombies in the cafeteria had increased to 31!

"Roar~"

"Hehe!"

A group of zombies roared as they charged towards Henry.

"Perfect opportunity to test the strength of my upgraded body!" Henry said with a slight smile. This time, he didn't draw his katana; instead, he swung a punch directly at the zombies in front of him.

Bang! Squish!

As Henry swung his fist, energy armor instantly covered his entire body. He didn't use his full strength with this punch, but the zombie's head was like it was made of cardboard. It was smashed in, the jaw dislocated, and a large portion of the skull caved in.

The entire body flew backwards like a kite without strings, knocking over five or six other zombies rushing from behind.

Ding! Zombie killed!
