Crawler's Ambush

Due to their angle, the survivors in the chat channel couldn't see the position of the armored mecha. They only saw Henry driving into the sports field, and then their view was obstructed by the buildings.

When the heavy truck reappeared, it was covered in more bloodstains, and one of its tires had burst.

Taking advantage of the situation, two Crawlers climbed onto the heavy truck, frantically clawing at the top of the cargo compartment and producing a series of metallic scraping sounds.

"Holy crap, to break out in such a situation, impressive!"

"But the outlook isn't good. See those two creatures on the truck? We encountered them before; they nearly wiped out our squad!"

"True, that monster called a Crawler has claws sharper than metal; definitely tough to deal with!"

"Handling one is hard enough, and now there are two?"

"Even if he escapes the sea of zombies, it's pointless if he can't shake off these two creatures."

"People at the human limit level can't even handle these monsters; the driver's doomed!"

"What? Someone has already reached the human limit level? Are they leveling up too fast, eating Energy Cores like meals?"

"I bet there aren't more than ten survivors in our region who could reach the human limit level!"

"Holy... why am I one of the feeble survivors, what the heck?"

"I think just being exceptionally strong is already impressive, considering it's only the fourth day of the apocalypse!"

Amidst varied opinions, the truck had already burst out of Sun University, followed by thousands of zombies. With a sudden acceleration and a few sharp turns, Henry shook off the ordinary zombies behind him.

However, the Crawlers' claws were deeply embedded in the metal of the cargo hold. No matter how the heavy truck swayed, he couldn't shake them off.

The truck sped along the road Henry had previously cleared, but soon, the road came to an end. Ahead, the street was blocked by wrecked cars, and dozens of zombies were still wandering in the distance.

"Let's settle this right here!"

Henry lightly tapped the brakes, bringing the truck to a gradual stop. "He's stopping? Probably cornered!" The survivors in the channel continued discussing.

Some of the more timid girls began to cover their eyes, dreading the bloody scene that might follow. Survivors at the human physical limit struggled to last even a minute against a Crawler, let alone facing two at the same time. The driver was doomed!

Many survivors felt pity for Henry. Others were simply watching for entertainment and also wanted to gauge the strength of the Crawlers through Henry's fight, to have a benchmark for future battles.

Even more so, some had started discreetly noting the store names and street signs near the heavy truck's location. Once Henry died, they planned to sneak over and scavenge his body.

After all, a heavy truck that couldn't run away, along with a significant number of Energy Cores, represented a huge fortune!

With various ulterior motives, the crowd watched the live feed intently. Then, the door of the heavy truck opened, and a tall, imposing man lightly jumped to the ground. Because of the distance, only the contours of his face were visible, and his features were rough at best. But his confidence and composure were palpable, even from afar.

"Maybe this guy doesn't even know there are two monsters on top of the truck!"

"It's possible, he was in the driver's cabin, he might not have noticed, otherwise any normal person would have run as soon as they got out of the truck, not dawdle like him."

"My heart is pounding out of my chest watching this, it feels somewhat cruel..."

"Mainly because we can't see his face clearly, don't even know who he is, can't even DM to warn him!"

"Hopefully, before he dies, he can give us some insight into the Crawlers' fighting style, that would be his great contribution!"

To these observers, Henry was already a dead man. Meanwhile, a Crawler slowly moved to the edge of the cargo hold, looming ominously, and eerily smiled down at Henry.

Meanwhile, another Crawler leapt from the other side of the heavy truck, burrowing under the vehicle, preparing to launch a sneak attack on Henry from below.

"Holy crap, these guys know tactics? They're not your average zombies!"

"We've already seen mutant zombies; why isn't he running? Maybe he's too scared to move his legs!"

"Watch out below... ah, it's useless, he can't hear us... he's definitely done for now!"

Henry watched the Crawler on the roof, a slight smile forming on his face. Just as the Crawler was about to leap down, Henry moved faster, charging directly at it.

A flash of the katana's cold light! His full-force strike landed perfectly on the Crawler's back. The Crawler hardly had time to realize what happened before its body was sliced in two, gruesomely falling to the ground.

At that moment, the other Crawler attacked Henry from behind along the ground. Boom! Bang! A burst of blue light flashed! The Crawler below was pierced through, creating a large hole in its body, including its spine, all penetrated by an Energy Strike!

With the recoil, Henry effortlessly floated back onto the top of the cargo hold, his clothes untouched by a single drop of blood, his robe fluttering elegantly.

Henry raised his right hand lightly, harvesting the two Crawlers and acquired:

On Henry's left wrist, suddenly appeared a bracelet, adorned with mysterious symbols.

"Is this the energy armor?" Henry lifted his hand to examine the bracelet. "Does it trigger when I'm in danger? Let's test it out!"

With this thought, Henry turned to look at a nearby building over ten stories high. According to the armor's instructions, it could negate fall damage from heights up to 50 meters. Considering one story is roughly 3 meters, 50 meters is equivalent to the height of 17 stories.

The building next to him was fifteen stories high, perfectly within the immunity range. Moreover, Henry was prepared for the worst-case scenario. With his current physical strength, even jumping from the 15th floor wouldn't be lethal.

At most, he might sprain an ankle. After all, his physical condition had been significantly enhanced, and such damage would be manageable. Plus, with his strong self-healing abilities, he would recover quickly.
